Are you still reading print copies of magazines? Do you think the print version of magazines will last? I am reading more and more of my magazines on line. And it is amazing to me, how many of them are free (at least so far).

I'm not sure - I know most of them will get thrown out only to be recycled and that could save a lot of trees. From the other side of things, I'm not sure how good reading magazines on line would be for people's eyes, but I guess some people spend a lot of time on line anyway. Maybe both options could be available and people could take their choice, but have it cost extra for the hard copy magazine [pilbara]
Oh I don't think magazine have seen their last day. Not for a while. Most of the ones I read are in print. Some are online, but with a print version you can take it anywhere you want. To the beach, to the doctor, in the car during a trip... Perhaps someday magazines will be obselete, but I think we have a good twenty years before we worry about that. [AmbiePam]
I don't think they will go away, nor do I want them too. There are times and places when I don't want or can't have a computer at my disposal to read these magazines. I am from the old school also, I tend to print things out and look at hardcopy anyways because it's usually more convienent and easier to read. It's the only way to proof read anything that you written also. Minnie Mouse is HOT! filmbuff [filmbuff]
Yes, I love magazines. I can't really afford them though. I get left over magazines from my Mother-in-law. My favourite magazine is the Australian Womens Weekly. Next to that would be the Australian New Idea. I don't read any magazines online. Hubby says I spend too much time online as it is! [jennybianca]
never..i can't imagine a world without magazines...they are my lifeline in times of boredom...and when im without friends...i don't read magazines online...its too much strain for my eyes [pradoz]
Yes, I still read print copies of magazines. It is much comfortable to read them sitting in an easy chair than sitting in front of a computer and reading the online stuff. Magazines can be read in bedroom too before sleeping. For that matter, they can be read anywhere under any conditions. [jarantar]
I don't think they are. You can read a magazine anywhere not just sitting at your computer. Magazines are good to keep for the interesting bits. Stuff I look at on the computer tends to be looked at only once and then forgotten. I havent bought a magazine in a while though. They become too samey after a few months worth. I like computing mags but once they have described al the latest technology and then there is another lot just around the corner, they become a bit irrelevant. I think, wow look at that, now you can get a doubrie to do all that, then it comes in the shops and immediately there is the successor in the magzine, bigger and better and twice the price LOL [mihimolly]
I really don't think it be gone at least not for a long time as we do recysle them. [aprilgrl]
Yes I am afraid so lol. Well, it ought to be so. Just that day, I saw someone promoting magazine subscriptions at a stall and I was thinking, "Goodness, do people still buy magazines nowadays"? [lordwarwizard]
I don't purchase or use print material anymore, unless it is a book that I know I will keep and reread. I do appreciate literature, but when it comes to newspapers and magazines, I can find that information online. prefer NOT to support an industry that destroys trees when I can get the same information electronically. besides, magazines only end up in my recycle bin anyhow. [cassidy22]
I dont really think so. There are a lot of people who dont have computers believe it or not. And there are a lot of people who have them that don't like to use them or dont know how. Besides you can't take your computer into your favorite chair or bed and read under the individual lite. My vote is they stay. [easyliving]

There's more and more coming out each day and each week and I'm not joking. Many look the same as the other, especially those girls mags about teen life and stuff like that. Although a decline in football magazine's is happening due to the world of online sites. ~Joey [joey_matthews]
I prefere to read my favorite magazine as a printed copy. Online ones are not quite the same. i do not think the magazines will die out. I think too many people like their paper prints. [teison2]
well, i still like purchasing print mags...i worked at a mag once so i appreciate all the work that goes into it... i like to keep my mags and refer to them later (I only buy country decorating ones) [cher913]
I still get subscriptions of magazines. The online versions are just a back up for them I believe. I do other things on line so being able to sit and read a magazine is a real treat and I take them on vacation where I have no computer. I am hoping that the printed media is around for a very long time still. Need to electric to read them, they don't shut down on you. Don't get viruses etc. You get the idea I think. [Willowlady]
I still like to read magazines. I do not think they will ever go out of style. There are too many companies that advertise in magazines. I have not seen the ones I like for free but maybe I will get lucky and get mine free some day. I like to be able to sit with a magazine and read at my leasure as well as take the magazine any where in the house. If I am reading it on the computer I have to stay in one place and can't really get comfortable. [sizzle3000]
Yes, I read print magazines, I am subscribed to several ones. I will check it out on the internet about magazines to visit online. I like Better Homes and Garden, Family circle, woman's day, self and shape. [mimatexas]
I still subscribe to many magazines. I prefer to read the print copies instead of reading them online. I spend enough time on the computer as it is, and reading my magazines curled up on the sofa is a way for me to relax. [TeresaK]
Yes, I do think the print magazines will last. I personally will read a printed magazine before any online magazine.. Printed magazines are great to read when you are waiting for something or someone. I know they came in real handy when I was waiting to get on and off my flight. [rusty2rusty]
I have to admit that in recent years I am reading (or rather buying) less and less magazines than before. Weekly magazines cost anything from 70p to £3.00 which is quite a bit of money if you pay out £3 each week for just one magazine only to be faced with more than 50% of pages full of adverts. The publishers make a lot of their money from adverts but it annoys me if I buy a magazine to have a good read and am then faced with 25% of the magazine filled with ads for mobile phones (which I already have as do most people) and some pages full of ads for call girls or ringtones or mobile phone screensavers at premium rate, holidays, etc. So basically I read articles online mostly these days, the magazines can fill up their pages with adverts till they're blue in the face but they're not getting my money anymore :) [anonymili]
I've actually been subscribing to more magazines lately. I don't think they're quite dead, yet, but they are lessening in popularity. I think they will outlast newspapers, though. Part of the reasons why newspapers are dying out is that the internet has more up-to-date news than the newspapers. A lot of the time the news in the paper is already hours old by the time that you get it. TV, radio, and the internet all have more up-to-date news. Magazines are usually more for leisurely reading at one's pleasure, much like books. They are not usually read for the most recent news. [desertdarlene]
I read my magazines and also the newspaper in print. I simply hate online magazines because its not good for the eyes to sit in front of the computer even more just for reading that stuff. Plus I find magazines in paper come in handy as I commute to and from work for 4 hours each. [book1962]
I think that its possible, but probably not for a long time. I think it would be probably good for the enviornment. [liperoterachel]
No, I don't think that magazines are going to die anytime soon. People take a long time to change. You can still buy music on cassette tapes. [gberlin]
Of course I read magazines. I cut out anything that I want to keep like recipes and such, and then the rest gets recycled. I understand about the wasted paper, but I can't read everything on the computer screen without getting goofy in the head. Comfy chair and a magazine with the kids asleep!!! [packgirl4]
You asked if magazines is going to go way of dinosaur? I don't think so. People still prefer hard copies and people will go in their way to purchase these. Take fashion magazines, for example, why do you think they're in full bloom? Because there is a huge demand for it even if the price is quite high. Besides, real magazines are handy you can take it anywhere, in bed, in the bus, especially outdoors - at the park, beach etc. [catbvq]
I never read many magazines before, but now I read even less. I usually read them online instead too. If I can get them for free, I see no reason to pay for them, especially when I usually only read one or two articles. [kelly60]
I think the printed page is becoming a thing of the past! Why buy the mags when we can pick and choose the articles that interest us on the web. [kitty1234]
I know what you mean.....the only advantage of reading the print version is you can take it anywhere to read,I like reading mine in bed but now with laptops,I don't see magazines being around for too long.... [tad1fan]
There will always be a place in my life for magazines. I love finding a good magazine, and taking it with me to a local cafe, where I can sit for hours drinking coffee and reading. I have subscriptions to a number of major magazines, and this is precisely what I do. [danishcanadian]
Well , we are now a days checking out things more on Internet than on Printed Magazines. However,Magazines still sell a lot.Computer Interface is tiring for eyes and one does not always like reading things on Internet / Offline Files. So Magazines or Newspapers are still in demand. [icon_001]
I do not think we will do away with magazines. For one thing, not everyone carries a laptop around and can read the magazine on line. So we will need to read hard copy. Also once they get rid of magazines, they will have to make up the financial loss from not having magazines and unlike print copies, no one can tell who the original reader of the online magazine was, and will be keeping charging for the online subscription. For instance, I have a subscription to "Writers Digest" and suppose a friend of mine asks if she can read it after I finished. Now that will never happen, but suppose she wants to borrow it. I will then lend it to her and when she is finished, she will return it. However if there were only online subscriptions, the Writers Digest people will charge her to read the online magazine. So for that reason, we still need offline magazines. Besides as of yet, the readers we need to read online magazines have not come down in price enough for everyone to use them and we will still have to buy chargers and batteries. But once they do away with paper magazines, the free online magazines will decrease considerably. [suspenseful]
hello there rig..happy day to yea!..i dont think they are goin out anytime soon..well at least i hope my magazines arent lol..im all about the celebrities..and i get people,US,entertainment, name it i get it..i look online as well for things the mags doesnt have..but i like relaxing on my chair or couch and reading before i go to sleep..it relaxes me..and they make quite a profit on them too..so noo idont think anytime soon they will be taken out..:) [cloud_kicker_32]
