I always get carried away with my books especially but also on movies and TV my latest tear fest with a book was The house of night series,I was sitting alone and reading when a really sad part came up and I literally started balling my eyes out my nephew came out and asked me what happened and when i told him he laughed at me lol [Ruby_Dawn]
Oh I can soooo relate. The last movie that brought me to tears was "Nights in Rodanthe." A couple of weeks ago, I was sitting on the patio at Starbucks and reading a novel by my favorite author and causing a lot of entertainment for the other folks on the patio. One of my favorite characters in the novel was killed off and I remember yelling no and bursting into tears. Two or three people came up to me and asked me if I was okay. Talk about embarrassing! I read Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas (James Patterson) and cried so hard I couldn't see the pages. My boyfriend was worried and asked what was wrong, so I tried to tell him and cried harder. LOL. Then for some reason when I finished the book I decided to watch the movie <3 [cortypants]
vanities, Oh boy, do I ever cry at sad movies or books. The sadder, the more I cry. My children or hubby will walk in on me finishing up a book that had a sad ending and just know what's up. They tease me about it, but it's all done in fun. If you can cry at or laugh at something then the author did what it was intended to do. It's when you don't respond that there might be a problem. There have been times when I have cried at movies, television and even books. There are so many books that make me cry when I get carried away and lost in the story. That's one reason why I love books. You can always get lost into a book even to where it makes you cry and get all kinds of emotional LOL. [rmuxagirl]
I seldom cry. I bleed at heart. Sometimes the story is so real, so emotional draining that tears wont come. [scheng1]
I have cried and laughed out loud while reading. Sandra Hill the romance novelist has always been able to make me laugh out loud and I cry every time I read the Ann of Green Gables series and her foster father dies. I even sometimes talk to the book when they characters do something I don't like or expect. I have always laugh/cried while reading and while watching TV. [Aurone]
I cried like a BABY when I read Marley and Me. OMG! lol. I had to go lock myself in my room b/c I didn't want anyone to know I was crying so hard! :P I also got the audio book for Marley and Me, and I cried with that too :P And I cried during the movie also...so if you want a good crying book/movie---defeniatly go with Marley and Me! [LilyoftheThorns]
I do that a lot! And when that happens my husband looks over at me and gives me a smile and awink as he gives me a big happy. I do feel silly, but he tells me that is the one thing he loves about me. Don't figure! Happy myLotting Snowqueen [snowqueen2008]
Hey vanities! Yes I have cried while reading a book or watching a movie even if I am by myself! If something moves me and it makes me upset then I will cry! I watched a movie the other night while my boyfriend was sleeping in bed right next to me and I was crying! He had no idea what was going on since he fell asleep before the movie was over! I didn't care! I just didn't want to make too much noise and wake him up because he had to get up for work the next day! I cry all the time when I watch sad movies. I cry in the movie theaters too! [Opal26]
Oh I cry a river too at many movies, even if they don't really end sad...you know that Happy kind of sad. But yes, will often cry buckets over a book as well. Usually books that are animal related I break down like a bawling baby....I cried buckets for instance with the book Me & Marley....waaaahhhhhcrycry Haven't even seen the movie [pyewacket]
With books, I very rarely cry. In fact, I can't really remember right off the top of my head a book that I found so touching that I started to cry when I was reading it. I have cried once when I watched a Japanese drama though (called "One Litre of Tears"). It was a really sad story of a girl that had a nerve disease and lost the use of parts of her body one by one over a 10 year period, and then died at the end. It was really touching. I also cried another time during an anime I was watching (Full Moon wo Sagashite), the ending was really happy and sad at the same time, so I cried. But otherwise I don't really cry that often when I watch/read things. [reichiru]
hi reichiru...ohhh i see..well in my case i always cry now a days..maybe coz of my agelolso sentimental and everything...its my hormones whose the culprit i guess.. [vanities]
yes,i often do this. When i reading a book or watching a TV/movie,i always get carried away with it, sometimes i tear sadly and sometims i laugh loudly and sometimes i feel very angry, this is beacause i image myself as the protagonist of the play or i ma touch deeply by the story of the characters in it.Every time after i finish one book or movie, i need sometime to calm myself, but i love to reading and watching , they bring me so much pleasure. [happyair]
hello happy air..same here... [vanities]
It depends on the kind of mood I'm in, but for any really sad drama movie or tv show I can become completely unglued. Sometimes, I even cry at commercials... lol! I remember when I first saw the movie "Legends of the Fall" with Brad Pitt, I watched the entire movie and as soon as it was over I cried for half an hour. I have never done that before... I guess it just was very emotional to me (I can watch it now and not cry at all). But I think it's good to have a good cry over a movie... it shows that you have feelings. XOXO [busibee]
hi busibee...yeah i guess so..and theres nothing wrong in expressing what you feel during that time.. [vanities]
hi there.... well...i am not an emotional guy....so these tv programmes and movies do not make me cry.....in india we have many daily soaps based on family.....more than 70% of the indians watch them and more than 50% cry on them.....but i know its all crap and these things dont affect me much but the only movie till now which made me emotional was Pearl Harbour.....and yes i love that movie [twistdbrainz]
hi twistdbrainz...well i had watched pearl harbor too...i guess you like/get emotional on the real thing.. [vanities]
Made me recall the movie I watched a long time ago, can't recall the title now but it stars Richard Gere and Jodie Foster. We all got in the part that was near the end, we really didn't know the whole story was about, but I was crying, shamefully almost sobbing at the scene with the two stars. Was really embarassed, we just came in and there I was sobbing my head off, was really hard to keep the sobs in. My throat was aching and I'm sure my shoulders were all shuddering. What can I say but sad movies really make me cry big time, even with books I read. To name a few, I cried when Dumbledore died and his funeral, too I cried. The Notebook, Pillars of the Earth, the Dead Zone yes it's a Stephen King book but I am telling you it's a good book. [ayenacsi]
I have experienced this but I managed to control myself not to cry so much. It was a very dramatic yet touching movie that really gave me enough goosebumps for me to cry. I don't usually cry that's why I was so amazed with that movie for putting tears on my eyes. [nengs10]
hello vanities i know what you mean about watching a tear jerker movie or watching something on television like that or even reading a good book and just cry away. Mitch Albom is a very good author for that. i have read, "The Five People That You Meet In Heaven", "Tuesday's With Morrie" and another one of his books that i cannot think of the name of the book right now. but all three of the books that i have read by Mitch Albom, have taken me from laughing to crying. and i do not know how many movies that i have watched on television or even at the movie theater and i will sit and cry like i have lost my best friend. lol take care and have a beautiful day today! [TnWoman]
yeah ive had the same thing happen to me when i have read some books i dont care if iam alone or around people i think if the book hits you that hard and you are around people that will peak their interest and want to read the book also to see what all the emotion is about. [frygirl]
It never used to happen to me I think I was stone cold when I was younger! But recently I've started crying at every book, magazine, newspaper, film, tv program and so on that has an even marginally emotional scene in it. I even cried atan episode of Doctor Who once it's that bad! And I always cry at Harry Potter haha! [Jamton]
That has happened to me a few times actually. I feel that I have gotten much more emotional, which I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. The story or the movie really has to move me though. happy [krayzietam]
The only book that had made me cry is "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. I was reading it and my tears kept running down my cheeks. [bubbletush]
I think that if a book or a movie can make me cry then it really good. I think it means that you relate to the people in the story and genuinly care. I never really thought of myself as sensitive but hey, if I'm caught crying or laughing then you know I am really enjoying the story. Go ahead and let it out! and let me know what book or movie made you respond by a cry or laugh. Maybe I could read or watch it too. [hug14me]
I've cried over both movies and books in my life. I admit to crying when Dumbledore died in Harry Potter and Fred too. The last movie that made me cry was Hardball with Keanu Reeves. What mostly me cry are those sappy commercials that come on around Valentine's Day. If I'm having an overstressed day (or just an oversteroided day) I will cry without fail (sometimes for hours). [cripfemme]
Hi vanities.. That happens to me very often. Its kind of embarassing whenever I and my boyfriend watch a movie that whenever the part of being so mushy and all, I cant help but to cry. Whenever we go out from the theater or movie house, my eyes are puffy red and I cant hide that i was carried away with the movie we watch. He actually tease me as a crying baby. When we watch DVD and its a love story, my boyfriend brings a tissue near me. Its his way of teasing that I find it so comforting though. You cant imagine how shallow my tears are that the recent movie we watched that I cried a lot was You, Me and Dupree. Its a funny movie but there was a part that I really cried. Whew, thats how cry baby I am. [jhoannejoj]
I don't think your nuts! I have cried while reading too, that means it is an extremely good book if someone can get into it that much that they feel the emotion. I always cry with movies, they are so easy for me to cry at. [messageme]
yeah once.. and ONLY onnce tht books was THE KITE RUNNER! it was soo good n soo sad hope u get a chance to read it happy lottin and have a nice day [thecrazyjogger]
Hello vanities, If that is the case, I am nuts too! I can cry while watching a sad movie or reading a a sad paragraph in a novel. I just shed some tears like that. I am quite an emotional person and my husband always wonder how I can cry just by watching or reading. Whenever we watch movie together and there is a sad scene, he will look at me whether I am crying or not. [gr8life]
