I can honestly say that before I had kids, I never went to the library. Then when my girls were born, our local library had a story hour for the kids. They loved going! The teacher was wonderful and she always did a craft with the kids, besides reading them a book. They loved being able to check out books each week and it was always such a big deal to pick out the perfect book.
Now that my kids are grown, I don't go as often, but my youngest still loves to go to the library to see what new books come in. I think it's great that she enjoys it so much.
Do you go to the library? What kind of books do you read? Have you ever taken your children to a story time program?

I used to go to the Library, but I have to admit I don't go anymore. I want to own my books, so kind of defets the purpose of going to the Library. I am very picky about my books. lol I read EVERYTHING really. I love romance with mystery, mystery/horror/thrillers, true crimes, bios, local history, & some sci-fi now. [Penguinsangel]
plz eplain i couldnt under stand [indianpride_001]
I've been hanging in libraries all of my life. It was a place we used to go to after school when I was a kid to hook up with other kids from other schools. This is an area with a lot of public, Catholic & private schools and the kids from different schools used to meet in the library and get to know each other. We sometimes got kicked out of the library for causing a ruckus and kids still do I've noticed. Also the library kept the summer reading lists for all the different schools so we all had to go there to see what we were supposed to read over the summer. Yes, I've gone to the story time and also to the book signings. Libraries are also good places to take out free DVD's. About the only thing I've never done at the library is join a book club. I like to pick my own books and don't especially need to discuss what I'm reading although a lot of friends have told me that the book clubs there are very good....What really surprises me is that libraries seem, at least where I live, to be busier than ever. I'm really glad to see that....I read a lot of fiction and I have a passion for decorating books. I kind of rotate glancing at them as if they were magazines and get a lot of mileage out of them so it justifies the price. I sell books so mostly I buy my own books but I still go to the library a couple times a month and check things out.Unfortunately, my library fees for fiction are often higher than what I pay for books. (I don't pay much) I never could seem to get books back to the library on time. PS I just remembered one more thing libraries are good for. When your computer is down, there is always one you can use at the library. [irisheyes]
I used to go often, but now that I have my computer, everything I want to read is right at my fingertips. When I do feel like getting my hands on a book, it's usually so good that I don't want to take it back, and so I end up buying myself a copy. [danishcanadian]
I go to the library every so often to get books for research or to do research there. Although, nowadays I do a lot of the research using the online journals available through my University. I also enjoy going and getting books to read for fun, but I do not have time for that during the school year. Maybe, I will have more time for that after I graduate in May. [kjscrafts]
I go to the library whenever I have spare time. Which is rarer these days..but I still find exuses to go and hang out til the place closes. Or I should say places..since I have a tendency to hang out at..many..libraries. *coughs* I read a bit of everything..though not romances so much, since I blatantly hate most of those. I have a special fondness for horror, sci-fi, and fantasy though. My family's big book people mostly, reading fanatics lol. There's hardly a room without books in them. =) [xParanoiax]
Same with us! We have books all over the place. All 4 of us are avid readers.... [Bev1986]
Library is the better for the of purpose study many students are going there for collect the materials for the study so students always use library. I am going library many times when i completed my high school i am regularly visited. In library various types of books found there. Text book, Story book, Novel etc. are available for the study purpose. [a_robinnep]
yes i do go often. to check out books, movies, etc. i just love books. i devour them. i read a variety of different books. my favorite type of genre is mystery though. nothing better then reading a mystery novel. [m0t0rbreath11]
I think it's a good habit to develop especially for young kids. When I was in school, I'd drop by the library to borrow some really good titles. It saves a lot of money :) [vintage_blowout]
i cant say i do, i find it too .. smth , anyway i dont like it. what are friends and geeks anyway for? [catali0n]
I do go to the library but not that often. Whenever I require a book which I do not want to buy then I borrow from the library and thats when I go. [nayand]
I like to go,but problem is the time. So,i prefer to read the books from my house only. [sreejithsreenivas]
Ya I used to.but after my studies i seldom go to library. [waheed84pk]
Last time when i am going for my IT certification, the library is the favourite haunt but now i seldom or never go to library as i prefer e-books if need to study. [zhizhong07]
yes i try to go at least once a month to the library, love to read books, or so some research there. [fayzah]
i started to go to library when i was in highchool, because we need too go their coz we had our research class and our teacher forcing us to visit the library and then research out there. I hate reading books but then i realize that is it very helpful for us. [mae_greatlife]
When i have free time, i go to the library. sometimes i even tag my friends along with me when i go there. it actually helps me relax because of the environment there. when i was in High School i was fond of reading children's books (im not immature, i just like them).. but i grew fond of reading history books haha. [khitkhat]
Yes I go with my family in the Library and like to see and take the books at home. My wife likes books very much and if she is given a book a day she will not need anything , she will not disturb you or she will not get bored as she has a book to read. I like to read books written by Robin cook as they belong to my profession, I also like to read the books on management , We also attend various exhibitions, book stalls to see what new has arrived and purchase it if it is benefitting us. [pradesh13]
when i was still studying i go to the lib almost everyday but now, i dont anymore. [anne_josh]
Honestly speaking I never like reading books, it such a tough job for me to read them even now during my college days. I have never read a novel or any sort of them through out my whole life unless my course books. So the only time I have been in library to get these books for my exams. And never even bother to complete te whole book. Nowadays you have Internet and any information is infront on your desk with in seconds. [nrmrreddi]
there is end for our lives but there is no end for studying books and gaining knowledge.some people are mad to read the books.its good to read books to gain knowledge in your sparetime. [aries6484]
when i wa still in college, i go everyday but now i dont have the time fto do so. [anne_josh]
I came to this place, few years back when I was in school. Here the school library was really good with lots of books, but the librarian was really rude. She didn't like giving books to students. She used to behave like all the books in library was her own. She used to issue only one book in a week & that too with a rude behaviour. So I lost my reading habit in this. Then, I made a new friend in my class who was a member of another public library. I asked her about it & went to check out the library. I felt it was quite good & became its member. Alternate days or on weekends I used to go to the library, but when I finished school I stopped going to library. It has been 2yrs now that I haven't gone to the library. [shedii]
ya its true when i was child ididn't like to sit in lib but when i now grew up i feel gud in lib its gud place and its add many thing in our personality such as make us gud listner patience keeper etc [indianpride_001]
Well, I think for the new generation, library is an old place. I mean i know that is important .. but why bother when you can google and find anything you want. it's more easy, especially if you don't have a lot of time, or you work. [msdos85_2007]
Im not much of a reader. I never was in school either. I did go to the library a couple of times back then though but havent been since then. When I did read a book, it pretty much about love, romance or drama. [stephcjh]
I go to the library around twice a week. ^-^ [blindedfox]
Well, I do go to the library. It is fun. And I like reading a lot so I do read. When I was a college freshman, I would hang out at the library because that is where my best friends are : the books! [Kangleicha]
Yes, I'm an avid reader. I use the public library and also my school library. I go primarily for books and to read or borrow magazines. My public library has a great online system where you can do searches and place a request for books in other branches. I've also placed holds on really popular books which I otherwise wouldn't have been able to read until they came out in paperback. My school library is great for research and also just as a quiet place to work. [enemies]
I used to when I was a student. This time i do not have that much time anymore to sit and read anything in the library. I just buy second-hand books which I also do not finish that fast the way I did when i had more time in my hands. Now I have other concerns and reading has taken a back seat. I seldom find time to read now. IN fact, reading only happens when I wait for something because I believe that waiting is time wasted. So when I wait for someone or for something I open my book. I think with the advent of the internet where you could access so much information with just a click the relevance of going to the library is now in question. Why go to the library when you can easily access for information through the internet. Movies? TV shows? It's all there. [funny52f]
When i have to read about some topic and get some refrence book i often have to go to library [Pinkcoolfire]
Reference books are great but come to think of it i spend less time going to the library these days i instead do researches on the internet. [Kdking]
yes i defnitely visit the library really very frequently. i wont say tht i read a lot but yes or my coursebooks i goto the library on a regular basis. i have joind two libraries one in colg too. [cuteangel1987]
When I was younger through my public Junior to High school years. I loved going to the library. My favorite day was Saturdays, because of the lineup of different activities available. All I needed was a library card and 'Barney in Space' and many other young reader books along with a host of musical records, were coming home with me for hours of learnning and fun. The librarians and a few volunteers were my guide to new adventures by suggesting new topics and genre. They motivated me to return every weekend and participate in clubs such as writing, Crafts and puppet theatre the latter was the most rewarding and memorable impact on my life. For a long while my Mom & Dad also became interested because of the positive results this all had at school. I even stopped watching television for a while, which through my friends for a curve. They've always considered me a T.V. baby. Now I'm much older with a full time job, a family and a mortgage. I went to college for librarian technician. Through my learning I've found that information can be extracted from almost anywhere with a little know how. And with our keen interest to get our children associated with the internet, add our face pace lifestyle, libraries as we know it are coming to an end. At the moment I don't have kids, but I know for a fact that a well developed imagination can be very rewarding. If I had children I would introduce them to a library and various services such as craft, puppets, story time, etc... [PinchMe]
Wonderful post!!! You have a great writing ability... no wonder you love the library so much! I agree that unfortunately, libraries as we know them may soon come to an end. Our small public library in our town had to cut back their hours because of funding. How very sad... Thanks so much for the great response! [Bev1986]
To answer your question, I think going to the library is fun. 1.It's quiet in there. 2.You can check out all kinds of books that you want to read. 3.You can get a library card and use it to borrow any kinds of books. (It's kind of like having a credit card, except you don't have to pay bills.=)lol [enemies]
yes i do go libary it is must for me [gautam007]
When I was a student, I would hang around the library. I would go to a certain section in the library, well, not may major and read books there. I like it there because I can read many books that interest me. Also, the environment is quiet. The noise is very much controlled. When I graduated, I still went to the library. Our national library. There were more books. However, I didn't enjoy it much because there were a lot of people and that the place was too crowded. There were also a wide range of books, so I can't easily find the books that I wanted to read. [ichurn]
In my college days i used to take benefit of library but now a days i don't go. [smartbrain69]
I go to the library on weekends i like going there because its quiet and there are so many information, i enjoy reading books that are factual not stories that aren't true. [Kdking]
yes, when i was in high school and university i used to go to library but when i graduated in 1997 not anymore i always read something from internet i always used google. kind of books that i read is about religion i don't have yet a kids now but if i have i do [binong]
No i don't go there i can't spend my time without talking and having fun though i know the libraries are good places for academic studies but i don't go [dareformore]
ya i am use in library. library is the refere all notes the student get the knowage & other matter collect them [sathish_dhana]
i have never been to .library . n i dont like to go over there .. :). [adnan82]
Unfortunantly my local library is somewhat stale. Its small and dosen't have much new stuff in it. The two local bookstores are actualy bigger with vaster collections. I usually just buy the books I want. I'm not a big reader so I tend to take my time and don't want to have to keep taking the book back to renew it. A lot of the books I read are reference materials so having them onhand dosen't hurt either. [uath13]
It is sad to say the last time I went to a library and checked out books was about 17 years ago back in high school. I have two kids and I really need to start doing that for them [rice5899]
I t depends how old your kids are but my kids love the library, check to see if your local library has a kids reading hour, my kids love that. someone reads a few books to them and they sing songs. [marriedman111399]
i always go to the library because i love to read books about anything that i could read in the library. and i want to be a doctor so i much spend my time in the library [lestari]
I love going to the library, it's such a treat for me. I love reading in general, but the library is just... a great place to be. The one closest to me is undergoing some kind of renovation, and the one next to closest has a very limited selection of books, so it's almost like my hobby to go to as many of Brooklyn's libraries as I can. I've been in about 10 or so, and they're all so different! Not to mention, libraries aren't allowed to sell their old or unwanted books anymore, so they have random shelves of books labeled "FREE BOOKS! Please take one!" [Aeval39]
I try to go to the library once a week with my daughter. They also have a story time where someone reads books and they sing songs. My daughter really likes it alot. She has made alot of new friends there. She also like to check out movies to watch at home. Sometimes they do a craft or have a special person come in and talk to them about a specific topic. [marriedman111399]
yes i go to library. I like to go there and study for the exams and other novels and magazines. when i was in college i used to sit in library for more than 5-6 hrs in a day. then after my college, i joined british council library and there i used to go on Saturdays for reading magazines and other good novels [bhavesh80]
me im not.. i go library only if i have research and report^^ [annx1116]
The library is frig'n awsome! Here's a cool little tidbit you may not have considered: libraries have VHS and DVDs that you can check out! I've checked out all 3 of the original Star Wars Movies, TMNT, Eating Raoul, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Punisher, and more! Why rent movies from Blockbuster/Netflix, when you can get them for free! The only drawbacks: may not get 'latest releases,' if it's popular (like Star Wars/Superman) there can be a long wait, and sometimes people don't take care of them, so they can skip. Another thing, if at work/school, you're allowed to use headphones for music, you can get books on tape! There's more to libraries than just books: and if you happen to be a comic book fan, they can have tradebacks, such as the Infinite Crisis! [usaction]
Yes, still today I still go to library. Sometimes I go to library just to check if they have new books. My favorite books are science and computer books. In my library they also have some movies. They also have like 6 computers and we can borrow it for Surfing the net. [bison007]
i will browse newspaper's and internet . and reading some magazines and hearing some famous speech.......... [balaji_civil]
Yes...i go regularly to library to read the subject books to gain new trends in civil engineering...and also prepare for my higher studies and for reading newspaper.... [sureshmoe]
I used to go to the library a lot but so much now anymore. I only go if I want find specific books You can find so much information on the internet now that sometimes you don't have to go to the library. But of course it is good thing to go especially when you have children since goign to the library leanrs thme to appreciate books and reading. Certainly if they have children's activities like story telling. [mobyfriend]
Yes, I use the library pretty often. I can search for and reserve books, music, and movies online, and they let me know by email when it's available. That's how I see most of my movies; I've never paid to rent a movie. [Idlewild]
we can say that people stop going to library now a days . however i used to go my college library . Library is the place where people go to read and for searching the required things. Also library is used as relaxation purpose. In my college library there is different section are set up for different subjects .as i fond of reading the books of commerce section as commerce is my field. Kids do more learn in the libraries. [ntejani17]

Yup i go to the library, but mostly i only go to the library if i have something to research on or if i want to sleep or if i wanted to see my crush hehe, I read books mostly that deals with astronomy, Photography and travel as well those with titles like finding the hidden secrets, unlocking the mysteries of the deepest part of the sea [tomoe_spy]
No never took kids to story time but this is something I might look into for Grandbaby she loves us reading her books to her she is 2 . I found her reading her book to her Baby doll the other day. yes I still go to the Liabrary right now I have books to return so I can get more. Used to read Gothic , all VCAndrews books,Stephen kings books, westerns, action, Sience fiction ,Mystery, [Lakota12]
I used to live in the library, but it has now become such a noisey place. Having the internet is as if I had a library in my home so thankfully I do not go any longer. [pollyandry]
I do go to the library sometimes but it just to do some research for school projects stuff like that. I went to the school library last night tring to find some research for a 2 page paper i have to write about anatomy in cosmetology. [bronie123]
I went to the library in college. That was the most I ever went since I had to study for my classes and do research papers. [nangel78]
when i was a student, i liked to go to library to leran knowledge; but when i take my job, i haven't chance to go on my study, how sad it is! maybe i will go to llibrary with my children or relation. [davishuang88]
I love the library! I've gone there fairly regularly my whole life. My husband and I get all our books, magazines, and movies there. It's such a great resource and can save you tons of money if you buy books or movies or rent videos. [brimia]
I try to go to the library as often as I can go, I love to read history books and art, I manage to find time during the week, if i īcanīt well I go during the weekend, I strongly recommend it. [jahvo6]
I go to the library.I just love book.My hobbies is read book.I very like library. [Dil1983]
I am the same way...only went to the library when i was in college. Now, with the kids, we go to story time. Our librarian does the story time and then does a craft associated with the topic OR they will have special guests like they had a pet squirrel come in during the summer and we made squirrel Feeders and read a squirrel book. my daughter is 2 and doesn't sit really good so i really only go when i have my son with me. i love story time! [chaygylmommy]
I didn't went to Library because it's very far from my house. Since I started use internet, I thought I didn't need to go to library anymore because you can find everything on internet. [JVASPAWN]
My children and I practically LIVE at the library! I have always taken them. Even my now-grown son-- the librarians remember him from years ago. Last month I finally let me daughter get her own library card and she was thrilled. We go to story times at the library, as well as other library-sponsored events. I also do story times at home with my kids. Their favorite books are by Nancy Tafuri and they also love all of the books from the "If You Give a Pig..." series. Also Eric Carle, my kids love "Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See". [vmiller1024]
yes i go to the libary everyday with my daughter and she has lots of fun there and we take out lots of books to and read her a story to bed every night ect. [burnaby31]
I was going to library on regular basis but i stopped going now a days since the arrival of internet. Now i read all papers and books on internet so no need to go to library [tvmmak68]
I used to go alot when my daughter was younger.. I took her to story time all the time (It was once a week). She is 10 now and we do not go near as often. Its really finding time- Between running for Sports and working its hard to get there- I buy alot of books for her. She always has requests- and she goes to the library in the school alot. Plus now with the internet she can research topics there much easier than going and taking out a book to do homework. So nope I don't go as often as I'd like to. [KrisNY]
Well I had been to a library, when I had been in high school, but after that I did not go until I had my children when they had to do their assignments and we had to find out information then I used to go with them, I used to go myself after they had completed their studies and schooling for my own books and information that I needed I found it very helpful. [kathy77]
I did when I was child, I use to go every day, I love reading. My two favorite authors are Patterson and Grisman, I never miss one of their books. When my 3 year old gets old enough yes I think I will expose her to the library, she already has a huge collection of books. [Bytemi]
I use to go to the library all the time when I was little. After entering JR High I started going less and less. That was the time I was to busy to do anything remotely educational because I was making new friends and such. lol After I started going to college the library became my friend once again. Especially the library at my college. It's filled with all kinds of fun stuff. ;) The kind of books I read that aren't scholarly are mostly Sci-Fi/ Horror. I will dive into a mystery every now and then. The only drama books I really enjoy are gay oriented. I can relate to those better. I don't have any kids yet, but I don't when I do we will take many trips to our local library. A kid can never read to many books! [Tarrish]
i never go to library.i dont like reading.i get bored while i sit to read. [hotvebs]
I never went to the library until a couple of years ago . My daughter wanted to go and get some books so I thought I would just go in with her . While I was there I ended up getting myself a library card . I now enjoy going and I think it is great because you can get more then books and it is not like when I was younger and everyone had to whisper . You are allowed to talk in the library as long as you are not disturbing anyone . My favorite books are the true crime but I also enjoy a suspense novel and I enjoy a good horror once in awhile . [samtaylorskykierajen]
It cant be generalised one shd go to the library or not . It is individuals perspective. But ya if u ask me personally i dont go to library as i feel no place can be more comfortable to read than my own room. [prernagarg]
I havent been to the library in years. I think the last time I was there I was a teenager. And thats a long time. Great now Im feeling old. [TerryZ]
I go to the library once in a while. I will take my daughter if she asks to go. The library is a great place to buy books for my little. They have used books they sale for 10 cents or a quarter and I buy them up, it gives us books to read to him and I didn't pay much if he does happen to tear them up or color in them by chance. I have found a few good books I have read in the past. [Prairiedawn31]
Well, now with the babies,it is hard to go there, they are still very little and they might start crying after a while. Nevertheless, when they grow up I will love to take them for storytelling events, and for movie events as well. [mdilan]
Library was one thing I never was and am interested in going too. That would be the last place I would want to go. When I was in school we were suppose to go to the library if our teacher was absent but that was fun becouse we never went through books but always chatted there, and go through some stupid books. [samar2000]
I have not gone to library since maybe two or three years. I don't read a lot. Maybe I shouldn't start doing it. [gbspew]
I used to go the the library a lot as a kid and during my teenage years for school, but after that, I stopped, until I realized that you could get more than just books there. You can rent free movies (DVD or VHS), music CD, books on tape, etc. The best part is that you can go online and get these items and books from other libraries in your network and they'll send them to your library. All this is FREE. Blockbuster doesn't do this and they charge money just to rent the movie! I've only got a few books out of there recently, and that was when I found out my grandmother had ovarian cancer and I wanted to do some research. Right now I have to many books that I haven't read that I need to get caught up on before I get any others. [dmillman]
I take my kids to the library pretty much every Saturday morning. They love to get new books and sometimes a DVD/Video. I will also utilize the system that my library has that allows me to request books online and they will ship them to my local library from the network of libraries on the site. They then email me when the items have arrived. It allows me to find certain books or movies for my kids that I may never find my just wandering through our library. [MakDomMom]
i go to the library even now because i feel knowledge is never ending and in india in libraries there is no such story hours for kids but i go as i love reading books on management, business and stories from authors like sidney sheldon, danielle steels, john grisham [vityota]
i used to go the library weekly when I was younger and there was no computers or little use of them at the time. Now I rarely go as I can research all my info on the internet. The last time I went to the library was to post a flyer up to bring more students into my company program. Libraries are good for the children to read books and having peace and quiet is good. I think libraries are now more oriented to children then adults though it is good for both. A lot of people go to the bookstores to read as well as home. [kgwat70]
I used to use the library rather a lot but trailed off in recent years. Now I have a young daughter we go quite a lot, although she's only just beginning to realise what books are all about. I;ve not seen a storytime program advertised in mine but I'm definately on the look out for one. [Hutch3071]
I used to go all the time as a kid and young adult but finally kinda fell away from it. When I had kids of my own, I signed up again and now take them. It's great, I can take my laptop and surf in peace while the kids read. [inked4life]
i used to go to the library but not anymore... [suzyangel08]
We are lucky to have a library witin walking distance and I go there with the kids and alone about twice a month. I look for all kinds of books but always go to the just in or new section first. The kids did some things for the summer reading program that they had fun with [brightbluesea]
the libery will gona be the moust good plase for everything. Speculy if the all libary-garls loke like Pamela Andersen. [smotanqci]
yes very much... i neva went to the library in my school days... but now that im in coleg rite now i gotta get notes nd other project info... therfore i think library is the best place to get the info... after internet ofcourse....... i guess its out of purpose nd not likeness that i visit the library...LOL njoi.. [raptor47]
i used to go to the library when i was back in seventh and eigth grade but then throughout high school i never went at all. now that i am in college i find myself going to the library at least twice a week. [ram13288]
you know... u re right!!! i'm still quite jung but we are so close into our life that we dont enjoy library enough... when i was in school, i spent hours in library just to take info and, waking trhough the books ur attention could be catch by some interesting argumnents... Now, i have to admit that trhough u can reed so many books... u dont need to go tu the library anymore... the only problem is that sometimes u lose ur attention... [giaggio]
I go to the library on a regular basis. iīve liked going to the library since a was a small boy and these days i even work in a library:) [fregus75]
OUr library sometimes has a story hour for kids too. I don't have kids but I think it's great! And if I did have kids I would DEFINATELY take them. I used to go to the library more often but now I just buy my books rather than "rent" them. I guess it would save me a lot of money and this is probably a materialistic thing, but I feel better owning them. It's stupid I know, but I do. So now the only time I go is if I need a book for school or something. [dopey22girl]
My family loves to go to the library. We do homeschool so it gives us a place to go to break the monotony. Don't get me wrong, we don't sit at home everyday, but during the winter months the weather does'nt always permit parks, zoo's, etc. The library is a nice educational, climate controlled outing! Not to mention it's free! [goldann]
yeah, almost everyday, see i am studyin 4 my pg exams, so i go there everyday, also its quiet and i can refer to any book i want any time......... [rahuldmhatre]
I have not gone in years, I can find out anything I need on the internet so why spend the time wondering around the big library to find a book to take it to a photocopier to copy and bring back home to do the work. [carmat]
We go more often when it is warm since we have to walk there. I have a library card & so do my older 2 girls. They have both goen to storytime. They are to old now. I will go again once the baby is old enough. The girls usually do the summer reading program threw the library. I am usually a romance reader. I will read whatever catches my fancy though. I have gone to the library lots in the past. I haven't been there recently but I find it a great resource if you're looking to learn about something or if you're doing research for something. There are so many different resources you can take advantage of while you're there to help you get information on subjects you're interested in. I like that the city has something set up for the public to use on a daily basis. Even if the library cards have a small join up fee, it's worth it in the long run. My other half had a library card for about a year or so and I found we were using it s lot to go get novels and other books like that. They're great to have for long bus rides or just long trips in general. My other half would read on the way to and from work on the bus. His daily commute is roughly about an hour so it helps to kill the time during the trip. Myself, I just like having some novels to read while my other half is sleeping (he goes to bed before me sometimes) or even just when I need a break from reality. I like to personally read a lot of novels. Romance novels are kind of a guilty pleasure for me and I own a few that my other half has read and enjoyed. Those would be the kind of books I would borrow. My other half, when he has gone to the library, tends to take out adventure novels. Me, I like V.C.Andrews and I will read pretty much anything written by her. I've always liked her as an author and I've never been disappointed in what she's written. I also enjoy novels with those real life stories about crime or stuff like that. I always liked it when I was in school they had book fairs too where they were selling books. I always ended up buying books from there and they usually would have Coupons where the more I read, eventually I would qualify for a free pizza from pizza hut. I always liked that, a reward for reading more. Sometimes we'd get a star depending on how much we read over a period of time and if we got enough, we'd qualify for a reward of some other type. So, in conclusion, I've always liked going to the library and so has my other half. We like the idea of having a place to go to where we can borrow books if we have a problem in the house that we need a solution for. In essence, the library is a perfect place to get books that are educational and entertaining at the same time. [babyhar]
Even though we have net we will go to the library b'cause it takes us to confusion but library wont so we must visit library [vraravind]
I have always been away from any sort of libraries till my undergraduate studies but once i started my masters i have been living in the library all day and night long! [kdeepak1984]
i think that libraries are great, but i have an issue with reading books that other people have had the opportunity to touch and do whatever with. i prefer to buy my own books. [bethmj]
When my kids were very little we went often. We loved story hour and the various crafts, etc. that they offered. Now, although I LOVE to read.. I hate to use the library. I don't like being told when I have to read something. I have issues getting it back on time no matter what.. I swear I'm doomed with library books and video rentals! lol So we don't utilze it very often anymore. If I do it's generally for research or something. [hockeygal4ever]
I often take my kids (and myself alne) to the library. My kids love browsing and usually collect a lot more Books and DVDs than they are supposed to take. I haven't done any of the storytime sessions but as they are getting older now, they read when tehy get home. [14missy]
not anymore. i did before i got a computer. now that i have one i see no reason to go. i know kids like going to the library. i did when i was a kid. i think it's also great that your youngest child still loves to go to the library. it's good that she still enjoys reading. i always hated to read and i have only read 1 book completely through in my life. i will soon be working on another book by the same author. i dont have any kids but i remember going to a story time program growing up. When i was studying i used to go to library often , but after my completion of degree , work has prevented me from going to library. But i would buy books from second hand shops to read. I like adventurous ,horror and romantic novels. [kpbhuvana]
I absolutely adore our library - it is made up of about 5 branches, and has almost every book I've ever looked up. It also gets in all the latest magazines and up to date reference books, and it is just wonderful to go browsing in there, or place books on hold to read another time. I still adore buying new books and magazines, but this library has been soo wonderful, especially when I was studying; now that I'm not at university, it's nice to go in to just find something new to read :) I'm a big fan of libraries! No, I don't. But, I do read alot. Mostly top sellers. I love James Patterson, he is my favorite. [margieanneart]
I love taking my kids to the library story time. I used to take my older daughter all the time. Unfortunately it now clashes with a job I have so I can't take my younger daughter but I'm hoping it will change in the future so I can start taking her again. [michelledarcy]

[gaagan101]

[lameran]
I am a bookworm myself so I go to the library very often. I always have a book with me and I would grab 1-8 books each time I visit the library. I just go back and "exchange" them when I finish them. Reading IS good. ;-) [lordwarwizard]
