How many books do you have approximately? Do you have a small, or even a large, library? Perhaps you have a few shelves loaded with books. How long did it take to collect all the books you own? Have you read them all? Too many questions? blinkMy goal is to turn one of our spare bedrooms into a functioning library with fireplace and cozy Chairs to read in. rolleyesHow 'bout you?

hii, i love reading books lots and lots of books and wish to have a library for my books too. I love books from every taste .. just any kind of them, wish to put them all in my library. [nee_raks]
You're lucky to have such a collection and put them in a library. Very nice. Finding time to read is a wonderful thing. [gtargirl]
In between natural health, home school, reference materials, medical transcription books, computer books, etc. on and on. I have books in the basement, books in the living room, books in the dining room, books (mostly recipe books) in the kitchen. The kids have books, my husband has books in his office. I built a whole wall of cupboards for books in our bedroom. The cupboards are light colored and match the wall to Camouflage where I keep the books (I couldn't us the wall anyway, long story). I have books in the bathroom just in case I get board. Oh my!blush No wonder the movers couldn't believe how many books we had when they moved us. We live in a small home so I have ways of tucking them away so that the house is clean and tidy but then we start getting the books out again. I bet you wouldn't be surprised to know that we are all members of the local library!w00t [sysdexlicwriter]
Wow!!!! You are well read, my friend. I particularly like the fact you have books in the bathroom. whistle Never a dull moment in any part of your home. lol I'm impressed that you've kept the house tidy. You're awesome!!! [gtargirl]
i love books... i got alot of books, i do not even know the exact number that i have.. i have a couple of bookshelves in my study room, and in the living room. i still have some in some boxes, since i am still organizing the place where i should put them.. i wish to have a library someday, so i could share other people the books that i have, and i can still save my books.... [cuttyrish]
I love sharing a good book with friends. [gtargirl]
We have a lot of books, and bookshelves in all sorts of funny places. It would be good to have a room just for books and reading, I like that idea. Although I like to have cooking books near to the kitchen, and reference books where you can sit at a table. [katsalot1]
I would so love a place for books and a quiet corner to read them. A little table with a rocking chair perhaps. Of course, recipe or cook books should be in or near the kitchen. Makes sense. Have an awesome day, katsalot. [gtargirl]
Awe! I am so jealous of you! I have a few book shelves worth of books - a lot of them are cook books! I love to cook. I wish I had more books than I do, but I still have yet to read a bunch of them. One place that I love finding books is at thrift stores. I live in a college town, so our thrift store has a TON of books, most for a dollar or two. I have found some good books in there. The most interesting (that I haven't read yet, but I have started) was this book called "The true story of Hansel and Gretel" Which takes place in Nazi Germany. The two main characters are Jewish children that need to be helped into a safe place, so they adopt the names of Hansel and Gretel. I haven't gotten much further than that, yet. It seems really good, though! I wish I could have my own library! One day!! [rebelmel]
That does sound like a good book. I'll have to visit our local thrift store, but I'm afraid ours might not have books. I should check though. Yes, my friend, "one day" is always something to look forward to. happy [gtargirl]
Last count I had just over six hundred fiction books, about half of them are out on shelving that takes up one wall of our second bedroom. The rest unfortunately are boxed away. I have been collecting my books probably for the last fifteen years, and in all that time I have probably only ever sold or given away thirty books, half of those were duplicates that somehow I managed to buy without realising that I already had them. I have read all but five of the books I own, and am slowly working my way through them. I picked up half a dozen at a charity shop a few weeks ago. [mrtimharry]
Wow! Sweet life. Six hundred fiction books is an awesome collection. That is a library. Well done! I have an awful long way to go to catch up to your standards. [gtargirl]
i do have lots of books. i do love to collect books. even it was for schooling, novel, or just only a dictionary. i do have 2 bookshelves in our house and i make it for decoration to our house. [gaylalou690]
I agree, books do add a certain flair to our homes. I have a small collection of dictionaries myself--in different languages too. [gtargirl]
I started with a couple of shelves 20 years ago and increasing in every room books and shelves. Last year when I moved to my actual home, we had the right room with high ceiling:I bought a library system that can espand, to keep all of them together (my daughter is an avid reader as I am). Up today we have 585 books, divided by sections (young books, fiction, women related, theatre, specialty, art). We change the Lighting using recess lights and we add only a big couch and a special arm chair, no TV only radio/CD player. I have another little room that has all the school and working books, computer stuff and internet with double desk so 2 people can study or work at the computer. I put a little wireless router so you can have access to internet even in the living/library room. [elenaccia]
Okay, I'm coming over. Your home and library sound dreamy. And what an awesome amount of books you have collected. No TV in the library totally makes sense. [gtargirl]
It would be nice to have a spare room for a library. I have hundreds of books. I have not bought them all, but they are here, anyway. I do not have a spare room, people keep moving back into them, etc. I would love floor to ceiling shelves all the way around, and something cozy to sit on. Of course, wonderful reading lamps as well. Maybe a rocker. [GardenGerty]
Oh wouldn't that be so wonderful! My friend had all that in a large 4-story Victorian home. They sold it and now it's a Bed and Breakfast Inn. Sigh. [gtargirl]
Definitely a library and I would guess at well over a thousand books. I am actually banned from buying anymore as we have nowhere left to store them. I ignore the ban of course! [p1kef1sh]
The Boss. She who must be obeyed. My lovely wife of course! LOL. She's wore than me! [p1kef1sh]
I have thousands of books. Sadly, most are in boxes at my last residence, and some in boxes at my current residence. I have about 300 on shelves. Before I add a book to my personal library, I have to read it. So, I have a section of unread books. The bulk of my collection took about 15 years. I acquired 300 or so from a previous job where I could get new books for 50 cents apiece. My dream has always been to have a room designated as a library with oversized chairs and a fireplace. I did have that at my last residence. Now I'm looking for a permanent place to live, and one criteria is having a room where I can put all my books on shelves. I'm green with envy! [KATRINKA]
I just signed a lease yesterday, so I'll be moving, and I'll be able to get my books from the old house as well! There's no fireplace, but at least I'll be able to call it home. [KATRINKA]
We have books all over the place. We have one shelf, but as well as books, we have a number of other things on that shelf, so as we get more books, we don't have room for them. LOL We need more shelves, but if we do that we'll just get more books. hahahaha We need a bigger apartment! [danishcanadian]
Yeah, it's kind of that cycle you've got going on. More shelves more books, more books more shelves, etc. I vote for the bigger apartment. happy [gtargirl]
I have about 30 books right now. I had much more, about 50, but I took them all to the Good Will. I love books. I have 2 bookshelves with mine and the rest of my family's books on them. [OreoCookie3]
I am not surprised that you would love reading. Good writers always read. [gtargirl]
I have approximately 300 books. Thank heavens I have a filing cabinet that I keep them in otherwise I would have lost them by now. I have been reading well all my conscious life and I love buying books. I am fearful of starting a library since books are stolen very easily. I do encourage my son to read and he is enjoying it so far. It is a great hobby to have. One day when my house is finished I am going to have a indoor library. [catilda]
I'm sad to hear that books are stolen, catilda. Thank goodness you have that filing cabinet. Reading is a wonderful thing to pass on to your children. Here's to hoping you finish that house soon and build your indoor library. happy [gtargirl]
I don't have a lot of books, but my hubby is a book-a-holic. Yes, he has lots of book cases. [kimberlynnF]
I have a few shelves full of books. But functioning library would be so awesome to have! I hope you have that one day as I do too! [Cillysophie]
That sounds like a lovely idea about the library with cozy fireplace and chairs. I used to have tons of books...literally tons. But then I decided that I wasnt going to reread them so why keep them. There are so many new ones coming out all the time. Well I sold a lot in yard sales and donated some also, but I still have quite a few. I have a lot I havent read either since I got on this silly computer. I do little else now! [sandymay48]
I for one think every home should have a library. I have been looking for a house with an extra room or a library since 2004 when my home got destroyed by the hurricanes. Seems the older homes are the only ones that have such a room. I have books all over my apartment.I also have hundreds in storage. I hope you get your cozy room. Oh and yes I have read them all ,some more than once or twice. [Kowgirl]
If I had all my books at my house, and not have half of them at my dad's, I'd have a pretty decent library going on. One with a rather odd assortment of genres, and a lot of non-fiction fitting into varying categories. With the three of us in this house we HAVE a library... well, we would if we had enough shelf space. We moved in not long ago and have yet to buy enough shelf space or unpack and arrange everything. We've got sci-fi, fantasy, comedy, classical literature, occult, magic, religious (all sorts of denominations), mythology and ancient history, language, historical fiction, horror, archaeology, supernatural and unexplained, biology, astronomy, well rounded encyclopaedias, children's fantasy,.... and whole lot of manga and comic books. We also aim to sort out a functioning library, but in our conservatory. It's got the cosy chairs... just needs the shelf space (and a fireplace, lol, maybe a fireplace effect DVD for the TV )! *sigh* How long have I been collecting my books? All my life and before. A lot of my books were once my dad's. No, I have not read them all, but I'm trying to not buy too many until I've read through more of what I have. I'm getting there. [ShardAerliss]
Great idea! Looks like you've got a massive collection. Same here. Been collecting books for years, and I seldom resell them or lend them to anyone. I've purchased extra copies for my friends, but I wont give them mine! LOL. I have over 2 tall and broad (no, not men!) shelves, with nearly 400 books. I'm book-crazy, and there's something on practically every topic under the sun - but mostly spirituality related :) [luckyattraction]
400 books? Amazing! I think you can charge people to come in and read. lol Thanks for stopping by, my friend. Have an awesome weekend. [gtargirl]
Can I come read by your fire sometime, gtargirl? We have the same goal, to have a library in our house some day. We have lots of books, wow uhhh, if I guessed I'd say a couple of thousand. Books are the only thing I collect.... well, and pottery. rolleyes I have read atleast portions of all my books except maybe 1 percent of them. Love my books!! [makingpots]
I thought I answered this one already, I always loved books and wanted to have a room filled with books, but it got to the point that I gave away a lot of books. I may have about 50 left and I will get rid of some of them because I just do not have the space anymore. [winterose]
I have a small library in my home.Approximately some 3000 books.Ofcourse many of them are my academic books.I got some books`from my friends, seniors and I bought some books. However I collected those books from the last 8 years.I don't sell any book which I buy.Even if I don't read those books after some period I don't give those books to anybody. If you have enough space in your house try to preserve the books which you bought .In a period of 5-6 years you will definitely have a small library in your home. [randheer001]
You are not going to believe this, but I have over 3,000 books. Last time I counted I had about 2,600 and I've easily bought 2-300 since. I get them off amazon (They have lots of books for one cent) or from library discard piles, or from used book stores, or, more often, from library book sales where you can get a book for a dollar or fifty cents. And I collect them at an alarming rate, really. The scary thing is, I only have a one bedroom apartment. So you can imagine how full it is with books [opalina143]
Hi Gtargirl, how cozy it sounds - to read a favorite story by the fireplace. Plus a cup of coffee with lots of snacks!lol Currently I've about 400 books, and there are in all places - bookshelves, boxes, store room. You've given me a great idea - it would be nice to turn one of our Rooms into a library or reading room. Only that it's so hot here, we can't have a fireplace - but we need an air-conditioner. happy [lazeebee]
I love to read books. I had been the member of three libraries when I was young. I also had a big collection of the books. I used to buy secondhand books from the secondhand shops. I think now a days the cost of the books are getting higher and higher and I cannot afford to buy the books directly. I love to have a big library of books myself. [ajithlal]
I am a book lover and I do have three shelves of books of all varieties at home.I have manged to have some of the old books from my school day to the new ones.It is a pity that as in many cases many books that have been borrowed are never returned back.Well we all learn from our follies.Aren't we?happy happy"Spread a smile" happy [balasri]
Yes I have a reading room at my place since my childhood so there is a big huge collection of books with me. I love reading daily at least for a small time and I do that before going to my work. I go there in the study room. I read at least one page of any novel whichever I have started. It makes me feel good and fresh. Whenever I don't feel sleepy I do the same but for sleeping I read book until I feel sleepy. I get good sleep. [parvezjs]
I have shelves of books in nearly every room except the bathroom, kitchen and dining room. I also have boxes of them stored in the roof. Last year I got rid of about 10 boxes of books on e-bay. But many more have crept back in. Will have to have a clear out again. happy - Derek [derek_a]
I have hundreds of books accumulated over the past 30 years. [whiteheather39]
i don't have a library, but not a shelf either. i have a room we call the study that has shelves in it. there are a total of five shelves which is too little to call a library. we have two study tables in this room too. most of the books belong to my father and they amount to the thousands. he has been buying books for tens of years already. i have a small, three-shelf bookcase in my room. winkwink [applefreak]
I live in an apartment. I have two large bookshelves in one room, they are full stuffed with books. I have a lot of books, I even picked some books and delivered them to my dad's house, as there is more space for my books. I have resold some and threw some, but I still have many. I bought lots of books, and I usually read them all. ^.^ [HelloMickey]
that would be nice if you had the room & enough books to feel it up. i have a shelf of books. quite afew of them are on Antiques since i use to be in the buisness but i wouldn' t have enough to feel up a room. once i read a book i don't care anything about reading it again. [ANTIQUELADY]
I have a lot... its as if my collection... as for the moment, i haven't read them all but somehow i know i need them... I also have plan of having a mini library in my house... [angellyril]
Sounds like a really neat idea. A nice library to relax in. I do have some shelves full of books I enjoy reading. Man, I wish I had a fireplace to relax next too. LoL. [chunijole]
Hi gtargirl, My computer is on my desk in my office. The window overviewing the garden is on my left. In front of me are three book shelves, each containing about 150 books. On my left is the door to the hallway way and three more bookshelves with another 450 books. Then behind me are two bookshelves. One of these also is full with books and the one directly behind me has a lot of folders with administrative things, language books and dictionaries. I bought a lot of the books on Ebay and have read only some of them. I like to sell them through Amazon, which is alot of fun... It is a great idea to set up your own library. I recommend it! Have a great weekend. Umart [umart13]
Hundreds! We have had to pack some up in boxes to save room. I have quite a collection of paperback sci-fi/fantasy novels in addition to other reference-type stuff. I used to work for a bookstore and increased my collection significantly at the time - 35% discount never hurts. Have I read them all? No. There are some that I bought with the best of intentions to read - and on recommendations of others - that I just haven't gotten around to. I'd love to have a room dedicated as a library, but I would have to move into a new house for that to happen - we simply don't have a 'Spair Oom' currently. [thorgrym]
I have tons of books. My computer corner is my library. I lost half when I moved. They were stolen from my shipment. No big deal. I acquired more. I sold a cart full and got more. I need to sell some more as I have no room for them. I have way to many books. They must breed while I am sleeping. [TheCatLady]
I bet I have about 200 books you know. I have books everywhere it seems just lately. I have read all the books that I have on my bookshelf and up in the loft. I am currently in the process of selling them off because I just have too many and they are just gathering dust. I am just going to keep the ones that I have really enjoyed reading I think. [gemini_rose]
I used to have hundreds and hundreds of books. Then they got ruined and I never picked the collecting habit up again. I still read like crazy, but I hang on to very few on a long term basis. [earthsong]
I used to have a six-shelf bookcase packed to the brim with books. Then my girls each had a bookcase in their bedrooms. Unfortunately we moved into a MUCH smaller house, and there just isn't room for all the books anymore. If I ever get my dream house it will have a library with a sitting area for reading. [blueunicorn]
Oh I have a lot of books I have collected over the years, many boxes, but no place to put them..We always talk about filling one wall with shelves just for all my books, but never got around to it, so I might just go through and get rid of the ones I don't read... [carmelanirel]
That is what I wanted to do but no fireplace I have over 150 books. Well, maybe not as many as I sold 22 books to half price books. Never do that by the way they do not pay. If I ever get rid of any more it will be at a sle of mine or will donate them as get a better tax write off then what you get for cash from them. You have a wonderful day and one year I will get my Library. [onlydia]
definately a Library, always have more books than bookshelves LOL!!! [cometkatt]
I do not have a library or a shelf for books right now since my collection is not yet enough. I like reading books and magazines when I have the time but definitely in the future I am planning to have one. [kewlme]
Hi,We have a huge collection of books in our house. I have this habit of collecting magazines and periodicles. I never throw any magazines away. I also keep buying second hand books and new books too. So do my family, so we have books all over the house- in the living room, bedrooms, even bathrooms...happy [kiran8]
I have over 30 books right now. Adding more every other day. I want to have my own libary as well. I am working towards that. I have most of them. There is three that I ahve not read yet but I am working on that as I type lol. [jennifercrowe]
Hi gtargirl, yes I have a lot of books, and I keep them on a shelf, I have read them all, and I have giving away a lot of them or exchanged for new ones. I often go back to my shelf and select a favourite, every 6 month or so, and I enjoy those books like it is the first time!I read them. To me there is nothing better than to read a book and let your imagination go wild. [alottodo]
I have close to 400 books of just fiction and close to or more on reference books. I love my collection, but wish it didn't take up so much room!! Or that I could have a room just for the collection. But we don't have that big a house. [snowcat46]
I have probably over 200 books that I have NOT read. I keep bringing new books into the house (usually used) but don't have time to read them. When my father passed away I brought a bunch of his books home (probably about a hundred of them) and still have yet to read any of them. Then there are the books I have read... I am sure I have just as many that I have read, but I have had to get rid of some as I am running out of room. So I sold some at a garage sale last year, but I still have some in boxes. I used to have a collection of books I read as a teenager at my mother's house. I haven't a clue what happened to those books. I know I don't have them and my mother has since moved and they weren't anywhere to be seen when we were cleaning out her house. I'm guessing she got rid of them a long time ago. I had a lot of Nancy Drew books... don't know where they went but wish I had kept them. [patgalca]
I've been collecting books since I was in middle school - and I have THOUSANDS, most of them in boxes in the shed [ElicBxn]
I've been buying and collecting books since 1960 so that's getting on for half a century of book buying. I have no idea how many I have now, but there is approximately 90 feet of books on wall shelving and freestanding bookcases as well as books piled up on the floor here and there and in boxes. And yes, I have read most of them. I say MOST because a lot are reference books of one kind or another and not the sort of thing that you'd read through cover to cover. [jwfarrimond]
thank for my friend . let us talking about writing :i want to write a story .all writing is a journey. you the writer, are asking somebody to go on a trip with you , whether you 're writing a book or a memo or a marketing analysis, whatever.if it's a memo, you are asking somebody to com along on a trip in which you present your ideas on how you think something should be done and you hope the reader will find the trip clear and interesting and enjoyable . the way to make it enjoyable is to sound like who you are ,not to be ornate or pretention. don't ever try in your writing to be someone y6ou 're not. how you write is how you define yourself [zhenghong]
I have several hundred books, but I wouldn't call it a library. [kellys3ps]
We have tons of books! I love reading, so I end up with all sorts of books. I think I've read pretty much all of my books, other than a couple that I've gotten recently and just haven't gotten to yet, although my husband also has quite a collection of books, so I haven't read all of his yet. I am kind of excited to have access to his whole collection of books now, too! happy I would LOVE to be able to turn a whole room into a little library in our house, but we don't have enough space at our current house. Maybe one day when my hubby retires and we can settle down more permanently!happy [elisa812]
I don't have quite enough books to consider my book collection a library just yet--and I suppose it doesn't help that when the term library comes to mind, I think of hard backed books (of which, I don't have a ton). However, I have well over 200 books about my room, possibly more because I haven't counted them all lately, and yes, I've read them all. I normally prefer buying my books to borrowing my books because I like to be able to reach for whatever book I've felt like reading or re-reading again and again without having to make a trip to my local library. It would definitely be incredible to have a personal library of books, but then I'd feel like I need a bigger house (most likely). So for now, I have enough to be content. [Elegant7]
I have a TON of books. One of the selling features of my home was that it had a huge built in shelving unit in the living room. Now, I don't just use it for books... I also store Art Supplies and such on there as well. My son has an old milkcrate full of books in his room and I don't keep the girls' books in their room. I keep their books in a drawer in the livingroom and then I have a bunch of their books in the shed because they don't take very good care of their books and I have to rotate them for them. Hmmm. A room full of books? What a dream! My livingroom is basically that library you spoke of though. I have a fireplaces and an big poofy comfy couch and then that huge shelf with tons of books on it! Haha. I pick up books all the time. They seem to collect me rather than me collect them. Some of my books I've had since I was a teenager and some are books I had as a young child. So, I guess you could say that I've been collecting books since I was 8! Haha. [dismalgrin]
That's a cool idea..I love books. I have a collection of my own I started about four years ago; it fills about two bookshelves right now. It contains classics, english literature, short stories, biographies, and a few modern soon to be classics. my hope is to collect every book I have read and love and keep it for my children. I have a long ways to go but I found this site called paperbookswap.com that lets you swap books with people. I get some books for free that way in decent condition, and get rid of the ones I don't want. [csrobins]
haha ya i have about 4 shelves of about 50 books. im an avid book reader when i have the time, but a lot of times i dont. [jlredike12]
I had to recently downgrade but I now have about 100 books and have read about 80% of them . Most of them are kids books. I have collected them for years. [saffrondallas]
Hi, I do have a shelf of books but I do not have a library. My books are too less to create a library of my own. lol [sdas86]
A shelf full of books is always a good start. Maybe in the future it will expand into a library. [gtargirl]
Oh, that's great idea. I also have a bookshelf. I love reading book and sometime, i am so lazy to get out of my warm blanket and go to reading room catch new book. [elainepham]
That's why it's nice to have a fireplace in the reading room--so cozy. [gtargirl]
Oopsie, you have a duplicate discussion. [leonelaphotography]
We have to contact the staff directly to get them deleted. We should have control over them. [leonelaphotography]
Hey there! I have approximately twenty-five books. I only have a small shelf to keep them. I am not that much of a book lover, in terms of collecting, but I like to read. When I was in college I usually go to the library to read some books and news papers. Usually I read news papers. I would love to collect too, maybe when I have my own house and some money to buy some useful books. Right now, with the present crisis, I spending my money on thing that are really needed. I am saving money right now. Your goal of turning one of your spare bedrooms into a functioning library sounds great! I hope to have a library like that some day. Have a nice day. Happy posting!! [AltheGreat2430]
Yeah, with this economy I'm sure that book sales are down. But I like browsing yard sales for them and sometimes the local library has a book sale--most goes for quarters etc. [gtargirl]
hi gtargirl...nope don't have a mini library..but i do have some bookshelves in my living room...i guess its less than a hundred..and its dated way back on the 90's..i mean the books that i have... [vanities]
Book shelves are good. And if it's a good book well . . . those are just timeless. Thanks for dropping in vanities, have a wonderful weekend. [gtargirl]
If we had the room I would love to do that it would be awesome we have two 5 tier bookshelves and we have another one we have yet to put together and I have tons of books in the attic and yes all the books we have we have read.. My daughter is also an avid book fan. [bellaofchaos]
Would love to but it would take a lot of money to fix up the attic to the point where I could use it as a library and since I don't own the house I just can't justify to myself fixing it up that much if you know what I mean. [bellaofchaos]
Yes I have a library or a shelf of books and I'm glad that I do but there just doesn't seem to be enough time to read all of them. There are a whole lot of books in my library that I haven't read but I'm so excited to getting around too because they look like some really good books. I love going to book swaps and places like Goodwill because I always end up getting a bunch of really good books for not that much money which is really cool. [jambi462]
I have three bookshelves in our living room. It's a small house so it's there or nowhere.. Though one day I'd like to make a bedroom into a study. But I like having shelves of books in the main room. sometimes I have to go through books and bag them up for good will or something! Some are piled on my porch right now! But my best books I keep, mostly information books, history, science, religion, books on herbs.. many things.. and only keep the very best softcovers of thrillers and the like. My son has taken over all my Dean Koontz books! But that's ok I ran out of room anyway. [flowerchilde]
I have a couple shelves of books in my bedroom at home. Most of them are Archie comic digests and historical romance novels. I am looking into building it up more. When I have my own house someday, I'm thinking of having a library in one of the rooms, even just a small one with a nice dark brown table, like a working place sort of office in a way. It can also be a dual computer room, that'd be nice :-) [MariaD]
I have a small library loaded into my bedroom alone! lol The bookshelf on my waterbed is chock full, the space under and around my bed is also tightly packed with books, and I have books stacked up in piles around my desk. I haven't read them all, but I'm working on it. [coolcoder]
I used to have a shelf of books in my parents home.. but rite now.. in my home.. i dont have the place to keep books lol... but then the library is close by... so its pointless having books at home.. [j47lee]
Having a library close by is always a blessing. But I seldom remember to get the books back on time. lol [gtargirl]
Back last summer i got a program to catalog my books so i knew what i and and where it was. When i finished cataloging the the books i had 405 books in the collection - not counting the doubles i have or the ones i decided i was going to list on whatsonmybookshelf for trading. I have also gotten abunch more books since then - for Christmas and from shopping and handed on to me from others. [saundyl]
I collected many books over the years: Books I used when I studied, novels I bought for leisure and books for research. However, they are now consigned to the garage for personal reasons. I love seeing them and returning to them from time to time.happyhappyhappy [diamondrose1]
I don't have. Our house is small and we can't afford to have another shelf to place inside the house. My books are all kept on cabinet and they are not properly arrange. I wish to have a library so that my grandchildren can use it too in the future., because human will pass but books will remain. [grecychunny26]
Hi there gtagirl!I do not know exactly how much books I have at home. But I am definitely loaded with books. From novels to textbooks and so much more. Most of them were from my collections since I was younger. It's really fun to have them all. I have several shelves where I keep these books. I am planning to fix an area of the house and convert it into a personal library. [dolce_vita78]
I hope you take pictures of your library when you get it finished. Have fun with it. [gtargirl]
We have quite a few books...books my husband and I have collected over the years (as individuals)...books we've bought together...books won as prizes for competitions at school...etc. As of now...our older son has his little library...a huge shelf of books in his room (which has encyclopedias and others books that he reads...his books in music, art/craft too)....our little son also has a smaller shelf in his room which houses the books he uses. We have another medium size shelf in the living room displaying another set of books that we have. One of the things I am looking for when we are buying a new house is an extra room to create a small library. Besides the books I mentioned, we also have another set lying in cupboards. [SViswan]
Wow! That's a lot of books. Sounds like you'll be needing more than just a small library. Wouldn't it be fun having a high ceiling where you can reach the books on top with a ladder you can ride around the library with. FUN!!cheering [gtargirl]
