Do You Have A Mini Library At Home Do You Want To Have One

I dream of having my own library at home, I am fond of books and I've collected few since school days. Most of the books I have are fictions,I enjoy reading them, I also have some inspirational books and some academic books.I don't sell old books, instead I buy old books that are on sale, I believe that even how old a book is, I can still get something from it. Do you dream of it too? Do you have collections now? what are the titles?

I'm not really a fan of books but.... may be ebooks. [tsitra100]
I still think that the traditional way, with paper is better for us,especially for the eyes.I like reading a lot, especially in different languages but lately i have problems concentrating. [BlackDelphin]

I have a mini MEDICAL library at home...and a mini-bar. CHECK IT OUT [Druscilla34]

Oh my god! Yes, I would want to have a study room with a library! It would be really neat and fun. I don't think I have a collection now but I have a bit of everything and I would love to have my own comfy room where I could read all day and night (ideal life). Oh and if that library room would have a whole collection of DVDs and I could sit in there watching French movies all day, it would be even nicer. [wondericequeen]
Yes what a good life! I hope that would happen to me magically one day! [wondericequeen]

I recently had to get rid of a good deal of my books, and I'm still "thinning the herd" right now. Eventually, when I have my own house, I'm going to have a nice library. Well lighted, lined with book shelves, comfortable reading chairs and stuff, etc. [wiccania]
OH that is so my dream! When we finally do renovate the downstairs here I'd love to add a yr round 'sunroom' to the back of the house complete with built in shelves etc that would lead down to the deck I want LOL....the deck we are definately doin but I dont know if my husband will let me have my addition :-/ [Ravenladyj]

I have $500.00 worth of Psychology books that I bought on a shopping spree at Barnes and Noble. I love to study psychology. I also have quite a few Christian books and self help books. I love to read also. I would love to be able to set up the books on a shelf in my room, but right now, I do not have enough space for that. I also have a lot of books that I would like to donate to charity. I can only read regular books once, but it is very hard for me to even consider throwing books away, so I plan to give them away. [Rozie37]
Throwing books is a no no for me too, I would rather donate them or give them to somebody else. [cefaz_21]

I don't have a mini library at home. my house is so small. I like to have a mini library someday. because I love to read a book and never sell it to anyone. I love to read fiction, manga, romance and other good novels. and my favourite ( still harry potter ) [prily9]

We have about 4 bookcases! My husband has an extensive collection of books about history, mainly the civil war and the old west, and about UFO! I have mostly true stories about animals and religious books, and my daughter has tons of anime! We also have several home medical books. [DJ9020]

I don't have a mini library at home. I just have bookselves for storing books. Yes, I would like to have a library because I like reading. [youless]

I like reading books,I also like collect books. However, always,I would read a book from lab or on the computer or other ways first,if I like it,I will go to the book store to buy it.I think those books is worth collecting. [cyjessice]

Hi there. I have a mini library in our home, and its really mini at the moment... I have books on cultures, history, sculptures and architecture, Self help and inpirational books, animals and educational, I have a variety of books that make up our mini library and its great, our children have mini libraries in there rooms on their own book shelves, if we had the room, Id like one big huge one, consisting of bit of everything... [Nardz13]

About a yr ago if you would ahve asked me I would have been able to say YES I do have a mini library in my house LOL I had 100s of books...but due to finacial situations that came up repeatedly I've had to sell a great deal of my book (and movie for that matter) collection which sucks but they are all replaceable ya know....I still have a collection of books but its considerably smaller than it was 10-12 months ago...Slowly I'm building it up though..and I do have a little reading nook on the main floor..I had one up in my room too but was spending far too much time up there so I no longer do..... [Ravenladyj]

Yes I have a mini library at home. It's kinda big counting at 400 books or so. I can't tell you the titles because that would be much and most of it is in hungarian wich you probably don't understand. I like reading. I hope it will never die. [dare2k]

how i wish i could have one!! book is my weakness...i really love to read books..but right now cant do it anymore since i am engrossed in computer...everything is in here i guess... [vanities]

Nope, and I certainly wouldn't mind it either as at times I get so bored and have nothing to do and just end up going through every article in the newspaper due to my extreme boredom. But then again, I am not a real big reader and hence don't really find the time to read much at all anyways. But it would still come in handy at times. [8ctavarium]

No, believe it or not, hubby and I are both educators and we do not have a library in our home. We actually do not have that many books. Each of our children has a small collection in their rooms that they have amassed over their years of education. Hubby and I have the texts for the courses that we teach, but other than that, we don't have many books. We tend to utilize the library for obtaining books. We don't really have storage for a large collection in our home. [crazynurse]

Yes. We have a mini library at home.. mostly informative books or books in school and our encylopedias. But I don't use those books as reference anymore since I am depending on the information I get in the internet because it is more faster and you can really get what you are searching for. [meemingNEW]

Hello cefaz!(",) I love reading books that's why I would like to have my very own library. We do have a shelves full of books so I can say that we do have a super mini library at home. I love reading inspirational books and those fiction books full of adventure and mystery like the Adventure of Sherlock Holmes. We also have academic books mostly our text books in college and a set of encyclopedia. I really dream of having a study lounge which will be open for public for business. My friend and I often talk about putting up this kind of business with a few computer sets and a coffee shop. Hope that our dream will come true in the future. Thanks for starting up this kind of discussion. God bless!(",) [lani0529]

i also dream of having one soon. i have many pharmaceuticla books and i dont want to dispose them because i have graduated from it. i want to store it for future references and that's when planning a small library came to my mind. a small library will include a table and chair with good lighting so that you can read comfortably. of course, it will possess a book shelves even the small size just to store your book and references. pardon me friend but i hate reading pocket books and i only read pharm books and medical books that amazes me. of course it will be better to arrange the book alphabetically and marking the front cover so that you can easily recognize it from the rest of the books. [joshboz]

No, I don't have a mini library at home. I love to read but I usually just get my books from the main library. I don't have enough room in our house to have a mini library. I would like to maybe when we get our new house. [sweetgirl_k1]

Yes, I have already a little librabry at home and I hope it would be only bigger and bigger. The most books I have are about astrology, romance or lexicons. The reading means for me a lot, so I have books not only here but also we have a huge library at my mum house. There are all kinds of books adn all kind of age.The most of the are educational, cook books or autobiographical books about famous people.I hope my library will be one day as bis as in my mum house. About selling...I don't sell books, I am buying them , or if I know somebody , who want throw them to the trash, I ask if I can have them. [laurika]

well cefaz_21, i too have a small library of some [precious books in it.it is round about 100+ books.i am having a bookmania.i like to read spritual books, books of knowledge, different dictionaries, and some general books from dale carneige.i love to enjoy while reading specially with a lots of cups of tea in my hand in a lonely nights. [medicsrep]

i want one too but we just dont have enough space to spare for a library, instead, i have the corner in my room for my books and magazines and some old books during college where i can just check on it when i need it..dont have much of collections too... [daryljane]

I used to have one before but now most of the books if not all are in bad shape because of those movements we've made throughout the many years. I found them to be heavy and cumbersome when it comes to moving. In fact in the place we have recently moved, we couldn't find any place for them so we temporarily placed them outside and that's when nature did the rampage. Now I am trying to have a new set little by little but I do not intend to have any mini library again. My daughter has a collection of books she had downloaded online. I guess e-books are now gaining more popularity. [funny52f]

yes, i love books as well and i am longing to have a mini library like you as well... i collect a lot of books like romance fiction, academic books and many religious books as well... [lingli_78]

I have books all over the place, so I gather you would call it a mini library. i have a bookcase in the living room, one in the computer room, and three downstairs. Most of it is fiction, mysteries westerns, science fiction, romance, how to write books, religious books, encyclopedias, etc. plus the classics, you know, Bronte, Jack London, Henry Miller, Dickens, that type. I cannot list the titles because it would take too long but I do have "Pride and Prejudice" "Emma" "Sense and Sensibility" "Jane Eyre" "David Copperfield," "The Prince and the Pauper" etc. etc. [suspenseful]

Although I love to read I never keep a book after I have read it and always give them to my cousin who like you loves to keep her books and she does have a mini library that she takes great pride it . I can't handle having something around that I know I will never use again and I never read a book more then once but if one likes to read a book over again it is a really nice idea . We do have a bookcase and my children have it filled with books as they love to be read to and love to hear the same story over and over again and I love to read to them and do believe tha there is always something they can get from the book , no matter how many times they have had it read to them . For them I keep all the books that are given to them and buy them new books all the time . They have all the Disney Collection as well as all the Dora collection and as they get older I am sure their will be many more collections for them . They also have many other books that are just random stories by authors and all togehter have over two hundred books in their bookcase . [samtaylorskykierajen]

I'd like to think of my collection as a mini library, even though over half of it has had to be put in protective totes to make room for the books that I keep buying. I have a lot of fictional books, but I also have a growing collection of medical books because I am studying medical billing at home. I think now I need to invest in a bigger book case. LOL [Katlady2]

Yes, we have a mini library-office at home. We have lots of books but they law books. We also have novels but recently we stopped buying one because we are all busy. [dorisday1971]

we have well over a thousand loved books, numerous book cases throughout the house, books in bins, books in boxes, books in the garage. I would love to have a library room, with fire walls and temperature/humidity control to protect them.... a few reading chairs, maybe a chaise sofa - and a desk for the computer in the library as well. wouldn't that be ideal? [Modestah]

I like the idea, though a lot of my stuff is on pdf. [stripestiger]

I do have a lot of books at home. I have over a thousand fiction books and some reference books too. I also wish to have a library for my children because they inherited my love of books. During Saturdays, I even bring my kids to their school library to spend time reading and looking at books. I have whole sets of encyclopedias, children encyclopedias, children's story books, lots of educational materials, atlases, inspirational books and reference books. [cdparazo]

we don't have, but it's a thrill to have one. we only have little shelves to put in our materials, and since our collection is getting bigger, some are kept in boxes. :( someday, i hope to have a mini-library. :) [jdpartosa]

I currently have a mini-library, but I always wished I could have a room with a book on every single subject ever... Tough dream I kow, but I reallly love books and I love reading. Most of my books are fantasy, fiction or spiritual in kind and then I also have the odd history book. I also have a lot of classics, plays and poetry. [keda69]

dont have but I wanted to have also??? [tines2512]

Nah, I just borrow them from the public library then bring them back. I rarely reread them, and I don't have a ton of extra space in my home so storage would be an issue. Rachel [liperoterachel]

Actually we're just moving to another city and getting a flat with one additional room now, which will be my study - and I will make it part study, part library, with one wall covered up in books from floor to ceiling and a nice armchair close enough to my books I'll be able touch them without having to move or stop reading. I'm so excited! Still, I try to sell books I've read and know I won't read again - like thrillers, for example. Once I know who's the bad guy, I'm not that interested anymore. But I also buy second hand books. Books don't get worse just because they were written some (or even a lot of) years ago, do they? [Endorphina]

i dont own a library at home but i also dream of having one.i love books, we have a collection of books at home and it includes encyclopedia, the whole 30 volume. [djmarion]

My wife is fond of novels in the local language and she has a huge collection made for the past 20 years. I love english novels, and classic books and my collection is 25 years old and my son is voracious raader and he has 7 years collection and as a result it is 5 to 6s stand of 6ftx3ft is currently full. [ssh123]

Hello cefaz_21, I had a collection of books before but due to moving out too often after getting married, I decided to sell my books online. Right now, I only have a few books with me. When I have a bigger house later, I would love to have a mini library at home where I can spend my time reading with my son and husband in future. [gr8life]

I like books also and i would love to have a home mini library of a kind.till now i have collected quite a few books but i am not able to spend more in buying books.though i would not mind to read old books i do not think it would be nice to have a library of old books. [murkywaters]

I do have a mini library and I've always said when I build my own house, I will make plans for a library. I have a lot of classic titles I like, and I have bought new copies of ones I used to have as a child that I really loved. I say bought new copies because I didn't get to keep many of the books I wanted. Not enough room. The Little House Books and Anne of Green Gables were always favorites and still are. [southernbelle77_ab]

I have a small library at home. I read non-fiction most of the time. I read inspirational books only once in a while because I find most of them written just to sell and earn quick money. I buy books which I can keep for long time. So I am choosy when I buy books. It's difficult to buy all the books you want to read. So I exchanged with friends too. It's mostly on Philosophy, Theology and Science... some authors include C S Lewis, Dostoyevsky, and Dickens . [headhunter525]
