Do You Have Time For Reading

Now days with the internet connection, I wonder how many of us have the time to read books. I usually did read books before I discovered how much fun it is to be connected and online. I found myself thinking I have not even read the news today. I liked reading books before, I could read tons of books. I get free books from my fathers brother who work as a sales man for a publishing house of books. But never seems to have the time to read them. Do You get your books from the store or do you go to local library? Or you even might read online? :) The days are to short, dont you think?Happy posting

..sure.. even if we have internet, I still read books and other materials.. in one way or another, they help me earn more knowledge.. [raynejasper]
god for you. I work fulltime, and use my spare time online. That is really a shame. However, I do enter a course now, and I HAVE to read a book. That is god, I am aforced to read. [anetteh]

Ya friend! i am also reading a lot of books. i always with some books. not only me, my friends, relatives all are reading books. so they suggest me a very nice books. i am also working with online for fun and money. but it doesn't effect my reading habit. i am also reading some rare books through internet. in some google groups members are send E-books to me for reading.so the online habit is doesn't effect my reading habit. i love books and i am learning from books! thanks for a very good discussion. ;-) [stargroup29]
You are so much welcome srargroup29, I am glad you liked it, and glad you did the response. I find it hard to have my time for all the things I like to do. Online work, reading books, see a movie from time to time. I used to do only that before I discovered internet and how much fun it is. But I also am divorced single mother and have some obligations at home to...like wash clothing, cleaning etc. That make me sometimes feel I have to less time for all things I like to do. I just realized I have been online for three hourse and been only here in mylot. But in the end, it is so much fun..... [anetteh]

Even though I use the internet a fair bit, I still find time for reading. I buy all my books, both new and second hand, from a variety of sources. Whilst I do buy ebooks as well,, I tend to print them out before reading them, as I find reading on a computer to be fairly uncomfortable. [egdcltd]
Hope it works for You. [anetteh]

Yup i still do. The internet is good but when you get use to it or when you want to verify what youve read, books are at this time better. There is a lot of info in the internet, many of which is either false or lack accuracy so sometimes its hard to get good info from the internet [oadgmd]
the problem with internet is there are to much information, and it is hard to find the right information sometimes and most of the time you do not know if the info is facts or sience. I thin a book are sometimes better than info from the net. [anetteh]

I try to read at least two hours every day (and more on weekends). Even so, I have hundreds of books on my bookshelves that I haven't read yet. I used to buy all my books, but they're so expensive that I've started to go to the library. I'm also a member of bookcrossing, which is great, as we often get together to swap books. It's good, because I know that the books I take along are going to other book-lovers, and I get a chance to pick up books that I might not have read otherwise. [kriszelunka]
Yes, books have tend to be more expensive. But I guess it has to do about the writers get money for their creations. I guess most of us go to the local library and make a loan of a book. Rather than buy it to keep. I hope you will be able to read all the books you have stored. [anetteh]

When it comes to reading, I will make time for it. I usually read before I sleep , and sometimes when the book is mesmerising, I find it hard to put down the book. I usually get my books from bookstores (used books are better bargains); I don't like reading online - I like to hold a book and read on the sofa/bed. [lazeebee]
Yes, it is something cool to hold on to a book. But I never have the time to open it before I went to sleep. I am mostly so tired when I am going to read something, I fall a sleep right away. Other wise that is a god thing to try if you like reading. [anetteh]

I must admit that I read less printed media then in my youth, but because of the computer screen resembling just one page sometimes we don't notice how much we actually read. If you read articles, posts and blogs and the like you may read a lot more then you realise the other day I was reading through an article and since I needed to go out I thought I would print it and then finish reading it in a break, when the print information came up it was 40pages long, I was surprised. I agree with my brother as he was arguing with a friend that said that the same thing you mention that people don't read as much now as they did before, well he replied that we read just as much if not more but we don't notice it as much, we don't read books, magazines newspapers etc but if we were to print everything we read online it would probably be a lot more then people realize. I must admit I do still read books, not as much as before but I love to read in bed just before I fall asleep, or when I am waiting but I must admit that I do not read anywhere near the amount of books I used to read when I was younger. [leeloo]
Yes, I did not thought about reading all the pages you visit...Hahalol But it is something els reading a book. A novel, or a criminal nove...I like that sometimes. A way of losing the real world for a little while. Anyways....you read a lot of discussions here in mylot to..Even if it is not a book....but I guess if mylot would be a book.....many pages long.. [anetteh]

I make time to read, usually at night before i go to sleep. [rhadoo2006]
Oh, I would not even get the book opend before I would go to sleep. I have no sleeping problems....Or a book would help. [anetteh]

I used to think Ididn't have enough time to read, but then I really started to pick apart my day - if I didn't spend the last part of my day watching TV, I'd have plenty of time to read books I've had sitting in my "to be read" pile. On days when work and life really sucked the energy out of me, I can't focus on reading. So, those days are spent vegging out in front of the TV before bed. However, on days that are light, there's no excuse for me not to dive into that pile of books. :-) [explorations]
I do not even have time for tv these days. I work full time, and the time I have for my self, I use online. I like being online, but the time just goes away for me. I just can not keep up with all the stuf you should or would like to do. Just being online mylot take a long time for me.....since I write a lot, and like to write a lot. I started four discussions this morning, and now I have ended up the last response to respond to...so happy posting and thanks for responding. [anetteh]

Reading is truly one of my passions. But unfortunately, schedule's been hectic these days that I rarely have the time to read!sad How could I??!cry I wish I could own all the time in the world for me to spare most time to read.Happy posting! [mjmlagat]
Yeh, the time past away to fast, even for me. I have not time for everything I like to do. Like reading a book, or a newspaper. But, at least a couple of news site I do tend to read every day. [anetteh]

I've been thinking about the amount of time i dedicate to my books. I've been reading a lot less than i should and had previously. At the moment i spend a lot of my time on the net and doing crafts so i don't have time to read. I'm going stale on the same book sad that i've been reading for months but not yet finished. I think i should switch my books for variety. I don't read online except for mangas. Books are still the best source for leisure reading. You are very fortunate to get so many free books blink. Do you have any books you wanna give away wink. If you do pm me about it haha. It might get me back to reading then. [antioxidant]
No I do not want to give my books awayhappyI will read them sometimes. The times when I have gone to pension or something like that.. I have tryed to read before I go to sleephowever, I never have the time to open it. I dream rather than read it seems... [anetteh]

I always take the time to dive into some pages of my books at night because it is when I let go of all my problems and frustrations. I couldn't go to sleep without reading, as it settles me down for a good night sleep and keeps me in touch with everything else other than internet, television, radio and the world's madness. Actually, my dream is to own a library, even if it is a small room in my future home with tons of books in shelves. I always fear that I won't have the time to read everything I'd like to in this timelife, so I'll just keep practicing to fulfill this desire, knowing I never failed to it. I love to buy books and I don't like to borrow them at all, because their like precious little things to me, all of them mean a whole costelation of events that carried my life in that particular time. They're part of my knowledge. Thanks for sharing this passion, even if you don't always think of it :) [analupinho]
Well, I shore do hope you will have your library one day. If you set your mind to it, it will happen. Set up the Goals to reach the main goal. Adn how knows, you might even have a god luck with it, since the economy for most people today are stranded with the globaly financial shaky market. [anetteh]

I too, enjoy reading and I make time in my busy schedule to read a book fromm time to time. The internet is good but it can be very time consuming, what with meeting people and so much to see and do. So for good all around health we must make time to exercise our minds as well. I also download books online to read and then when I am tired of surfing I will load one of them and read it. [manleyjoe]
Being online is very time consuming. I have been here since seven this morning, it is now four in the afternoone. But I have som much fun that I do not even notice about the time losing. I have to find my self a book that I can not put down. Those books are rare, however, I have on or two...I might take them and start read them over.... [anetteh]

I try to read every night before I go to bed. Normally, I only read about 4 nights a week though. Most of my reading comes on bus trips with my Baseball team. We average about 6 hours a week on the road, so that gives me a lot of time to get some reading done. I perfer to play online, but reading can be good as well. [belhaven14]
You are lucky, I would not even have the time to read the first sentens or even open the book before I felt to sleep.happy [anetteh]

Reading is a luxury these days..besides reading my studies materials I really enjoy reading novels and use to get them from the rental book stores until I found them online. But yeah..I get time to read novels during holidays..which was just over last week.. :) Princess [princessgar]
Litterature for school are expensive these days and copy them is not allowed. So I wonder how the kids today cope with it. happy [anetteh]

I think today people are busy with work and family. It's hard to have more spare time. However, the time can be squeezed. I like reading. I buy books online sometimes. You can just read the books for a while when you are waiting for somebody or in the bus. You can also read it before go to sleep. I love China [youless]
I have hard time to balance my time. As you mentioned, famiy and work take almost all of your time. I am single divorced mother the only provider for my son with ADHD and AUTISM. I also work fulltime. There is not much time for anything els. the few days I have of on my own, I rather relaxing online. [anetteh]

Actually I read all the time. I buy hardbacks used from eBay, because I like to reread my books. My mother gets her books from the library and reads at least one whole book every day. I'm not quite that fast, but I love to read. It's a great pastime, and no one who likes reading is every bored. I have read a few classics online, too, which is nice. [sbeauty]

Hardly. :( I have too much to do for my classes, and I spend too much of my free time surfing the internet or playing computer games. [saffrondreams]

I have to admit that I too am guilty of not reading books anymore. I used to read for hours a day, sometimes a book a day,,but since I have discovered the internet..the book reading has stopped..I realize I now have a box full of books that I have not touched...I keep telling myself that I am going to start reading again and do less time on the internet...well it hasnt happened yet!! [sandymay48]
Just like me than. I also used to read boks every day. I could read for hours, and sometimes I could not give up reading a book before I know how it ended. But Internet have really changed that. I also work full time so there is not much time left for reading books. happy [anetteh]

Hello anetteh! I can relate to you. When we don't have computer yet, I love to read books. Sometimes, I bought book from the bookstore, borrowed books from the library or from my friends but when we start to have internet, just like you, I rarely read books then. I mean, I haven't read books for 5 months noww00t. I guess I am more hook with the internet. [aisaellis22]
Thank You...lol [anetteh]

no, ever since my so-called life started, i didn't really have such interest in reading. even if they say it's pleasure reading, i still find it so odd and boring. plus, im too lazy to even read a book. haha good for people who always read though. they usually, as they say, turn out to be good speakers. happy mylotting! [nicecedron]
Some people do not enjoy reading. And that is actually rather cool. But sometimes there is a must, specially in school. I surprised my swedish teacher when I had to sellect a book to read and make a reweiv of. I sellected Annie Rice´s book "a vampire´s confession". She got surprised I would read a book about that. But, hey, It is what I like to read about. Thanks for replying and happy posting. [anetteh]

Hmm, I used to read a lot as the habit of reading was cultivated since young. But nowadays, come to think of it, I even can't remember the last book title that I've really read finished? That bad huh? Hahalol [zweeb82]

No i don't have much time to read.. i've been very busy with other important things.. [gracie04]
I have the same issue, more important stuf to tend to instead of reading. I work fulltime, and the spare time I do not want to put in a book, I rather have my time online. [anetteh]

I read before I sleep. I read self help books from Bo Sanchez and Purpose Driven Life. I also read ebooks in my cellphone and in the computer whenever I feel like reading through mobipocket. Being a bibliophile, my day is not complete without reading. [bekindcaty]

Yes, I read everyday.I take the subway to work and I read on the way to work and on the way home. It`s a great way to pass the time. I just find an English bookstore in Japan. So I go there and get books all the time. [SeoulBoy_Art]

hello anetteh i do take the time to read books. i enjoy reading all kinds of different books. right now i am reading the book titled "Heart Sick", it is a thriller. it has been an excellent book so far and i need to take the time to finish reading the rest of the book. i am almost finished reading it and then i will be ready to go back to the book store to see what else that i can buy to read. i have just recently finished reading books by Mitch Albom, what an excellent author that he is. he wrote Tuesday's With Morrie and The Five People That You Meet In Heaven. take care and have a beautiful evening. [TnWoman]

i really love reading bookd - non fiction and romance and even self-help books but really its time thats keeping from them. i guess i have more time in the internet than in reading. but to keep posted i usually read newspapers and magazines too. sometimes i buy from bookstores and seldom that i go to the library. happy reading! [nansheeca]

ya i read books.. but those are all technological stuff.. and sometimes it sucks :( :P no time for other books.. [nb_0702]

Read everyday and read all the time. I think I'm seriously addicted to reading. There's always a book in my handbag. Read when I'm in the bus, in the train, waiting for bus, on the bed (before sleeping), waiting for friends, and waiting for whatever needs waiting. Fortunate to live in Singapore where there're libraries everywhere that are opened daily. There's one within walking distance from my place. [scheng1]

Free books! Sounds like heaven. lol For a long time I didn't read just because of health problems. I didn't have much of a desire to read, and my eyes got tired. Which was odd for me not to read because ever since I was a young child, I'd read three books at a time. Now though I have gotten back into reading, actualy books, not just e-books. I probably read one to two a week. [AmbiePam]
Yeh, I salut my uncle who give me my books to read. When I have the time. I should really but since I work fulltime and have few days of, I rather want to make online business with my spare time than read a book. However, one day, I will open one of the books I have gotten and waiting in my bookshelf. Happy posting and thanks for reply. [anetteh]

well it depends, like what kind ofa person are you.... I do read books lots of books, not daily but sometimes when i start i will go 4 or 5 hours of just reading..... but i don't read newspapers... happy [moon317318]
Articles are shorter and do not take to long time to read, so these days I prefer them.happy [anetteh]

I was just thinking that the other day. I do read but I also spend a whole lot of time on my computer. I try to balance it out, but that really doesn't work sometimes. If I find a good book I can get into then I spend more time on that. Try finding a book that can really spark your interest. That might help. Happy mylotting! =] [HMSturgeon]
Balancing the time to do all the stuff you enjoy is not easy. I work fulltime, few days of and have a home to cope with. I also have a son 17 with disorder of ADHD and AUTISM. You see I have my hands full so it is not easy to balance enjoyble things with the must do stuf. I like staying online and try to relax with it as much as I can. If I have to choose, I choose to read an article online instead of a hole book. That is kind of a comprimise on my behalf. [anetteh]

Yes I still take time in reading books although I may say that my reading time is not as much as what I have before before i get hooked into my online earnings. I still got a lot of books for me to read. Whenever I travel I usually bring a book handy with me so that when i get bored i can read on my books. Reading have been one of my favorite pastime so the habit of it is still with me. happy [kenchiprincess]
Yeh, a family take a lot of your time. There are so many things to consider there. Kids to look after and parenting. A husband whom you need to look after as much as the children. My children are old enough to take care for them self. I only have to put the dinner on the table for my son. My daughter has her own place. I have a ex, but I do not need to look after him. And I am not going to have another man who take all my time I have for the more fun stuf I can do online. Happy sunday - Keep posting.happy [anetteh]

I still read a lot. I always have a great book going. I share this computer with my daughter so it is good to have a book for times when she is on it. They also help to pass time when waiting in waiting rooms for appts. etc. [sid556]
I have been online since 08:00 this morning. And gosch the time goes so fast. I even forgot the potato on the stove..w00tLucky it did start to burning, and it still were eatble....Well, I try to read news when I wait for something and are not home. happy [anetteh]

I read mainly for information or leisure. I read only for leisure in summer because I have more free time in summer. I read more for information in winter. Due to internet I do read less but I still do read before I do go to bed. I am reading more articles online rather than buying magazines or buying books. [ronaldinu]
when I take the time to read, I read articles about important stuf I need for work. Since I am a assitance nurse, there are always something to read about to ajust into practice. [anetteh]

You are right up to an extent. Internet and TV have taken away us from the habit of reading books. I love reading, despite working here on the net. It gives me a kind of mental exercise and satisfaction. If I do not read books, magazines and newspaper etc., I cannot update my knowledge and cannot draft quality responses here. Working on mylot has got its own pleasure, where you instantly get connected with so many people and start exchanging your thoughts. Good Post! [dpk262006]
I feel I also face the same situations as you face and I also fall sleeping, while reading a book...............LOL!lol [dpk262006]

Yes, reading time does seem to be a problem since I have been on line, but I make about an hour or two each day, to sit down and just read. But my mind is always on the look out for new information that I can use on the web.. :-) Derek [derek_a]
Same here....I do not have the two or three hours, I rather spend them online. There are so much more to read there, even though it is in short terms and not novels or romans. [anetteh]

I hear you anetteh! I have always been an avid reader. I was a true bookworm when I was in school. I cannot tell you the last time I read a book. I read four newspapers a day and I subscribe to alot of magazines. I am behind on all my reading. I got sick with a bad cold at the end of the year. I wish I could read books. My sister reads all the time and tries to give me books. I cannot take them because I know I will not read them. [msmargo]

Even though I belong to the Mystery Guild I seldom buy a book and whn I do its for my mom. I can not see spening alot of money on books. In the spring I will pick up alot at garage sales for 10 cents to 25 cents. I also go to the public library once inawhile mostly for nonfiction. And there is a library in the clubhouse of the condo I live in. [muscles4me]
wow...a great way of getting some extra money. God tip.happy [anetteh]

I buy books online or from bookstores regularly, and I also borrow books from school's library.I manage to save some time a day for reading.I usually read at night in bed.But not every night.I dont like reading onling,I prefer printed works. Happy mylotting! [sweetyethot]
Well done, I wish I had the time.....happy [anetteh]

You are absolutely right anetteh, sometimes we wish that there was some more time in a day so that we can indulge in reading. Internet is taking lot of our time, which otherwise we would have given to reading. You just see my example, I'd come to check one mail which I was expecting, then got glued to mylot. This is why we are short of time. [comfort55]
As soon as you started the comuter and logged in to mylot or open your mails, you do not notice how quick the time passed away. Last night I was working on my website and suddenly the movie I intended to see, had ended....I was shore surprised. lol [anetteh]

I still read, but I've become more picky since there's a lot of great reading material (often written by amateurs) available online, free of charge. I don't go to the library much, because most of their books are in Swedish and I prefer to read books in English. I'd buy more books if they were a whole lot cheaper and took up less space. [ceci2176]
It's good that the Internet enables us to keep our English somewhat alive. :) [ceci2176]

well, i make time to read books. i find that reading rejuvenates me. it's like food for my brain. if i don't read for a long time, i'll find myself getting a little slow. i'm currently reading count of monte cristo and i'd have to say it's a good book. i usually get my books from the local library. my dad has a huge collection of books too. cheers winkwink [applefreak]
I guess, lack of time is not a god excuse. However, the time goes faster these days. And since you work all the day long, there are not much more time to spend for more things you like better. For me that is being online, and when I am, I always read the news first of all. When it is time to sleep, and ther might be a chance of reading, you fall a sleep before you even open the book.happy [anetteh]

It really depends. For English books, I like to read ebooks. I read chinese books too, but for those I like to have the physical book in my hands when I read it. It's really a nice feeling to curl up under an umbrella by the Pool to read when I'm on vacation. I have seen people reading magazines like Times or Newsweek on the buses before but I prefer listening to music on the bus only. However due to my hectic life, I can only catch up on my reading during my one month break once a year. I have read online before, though they are mostly fanfictions based on storybook characters. Some of the fanfictions can be quite good and exciting, and when you read the profile of the authors you may be astonished that it was written by a thirteen year old girl. I guess some people grow up fast. [daynalee80]

hi, anetteh. I uesd to read books before I go to sleep. It it become a good habbit. It's never too late to learn. I buy some books about computers, magazines or other kinds of books from the bookstore. I like reading very much. [sunny7758521]
God for You, you still read before sleep. I would not have time to open it before I went to sleep. I would not even have time to read the first sentense. Some still buy the books. I think the library will have much to do now days when people are saving money for more important stuff. I get mine free...happy [anetteh]

Coo - this is my first post to MyLot. Anyway, I'm responding to this discussion to say that I always read when I've gone to bed before I go to sleep. If I didn't then it would feel as though there were something missing and I wouldn't be able to sleep! The only trouble is that if the book has really got me in its grip I might stay awake far too long to finish it and then I'm really tired the following day... [DogArtist]
Thank you very much! I don't really understand what I'm supposed to be doing about adding friends and things yet, so it's very nice of you to add me as your friend. I know - it's dreadful if I do stay up too late - I can't handle it these days - but if a book has really grabbed me then sometimes feeling awful the following day is just the price I pay. [DogArtist]

Yeah, what with having so many thing u can do on the internet, there is very little time left for reading. These days i'm not reading as much as i would like to be because of more interesting stuff i can do on the net such as watching shows :p I'm actually currently on a really good book called Schooling by Heather McGowan. It's written in a very original and unique style. ur really lucky anetteh to be getting free books. books are very expensive and my expenditure on them have been almost non-existent for quite a long while already. I don't like borrowing books because i will be upset if i can't keep a book that i happen to like alot. plus, i am generally a bibliophile. reading online? that's the worst. i would never read an ebook if i can help it. [spyglass]
Ok, hello spyglass. Welcome to mylot. Hope you enjoy it here. I have a favorite book. "The cavebear" the best story there is. But I like the type of books. I have all of them in my bookshelf, and from time to time, I do read them over again. But that time is rare these days. I wish the days were longer sometimes. But, again, no mylot would mean I would smoke more....mylot has actually helpt me reduce my smoking habbits...that is not what a book would do..my goal is to quit totaly..sooo.happy [anetteh]

Yes I have plenty of time for reading but I just pretty much have time all the time. I don't go to school anymore and I only work like two days a week so the rest of my time is basically all freetime which isn't a bad thing so I figure why not do some studying or reading because I love to read. [jambi462]
Enjoy the time as much as you can. The day you have a husband and kids those days are gone.happy [anetteh]

I alos used to read a lot before I "discovered" the internet. I could read a couple of books a week. I really need to go back to it, but whenever I have any free time, I tend to be in front of the computer. There is just so much you can do online. But it is definitely not the same as reading, which requires you to use your imagination a little. Hmmm maybe I will put down the laptop and go read a book... [fluffysue]
The same is for me. I read books everyday for ten years ago. Now my day starts with the computer, work, home work, computer and sleep....the time is to short. And it is timeconsuming, and the time seems go so much faster when you are online, rather than offline.happy [anetteh]

Yes, I am frustrated with myself that the internet distracts me that I don't read so much, nor am I doing the writing I need to do. I have tons of books in my house. I keep bringing in new ones but take forever to get around to reading them because I am just not reading as much as I used to. I literally have hundreds of books in the house. I just bought 3 more off Amazon this week. On the other hand, some of the books I have purchased I plan to read and then donate to my church library. I bought them with that intention. Getting books from the library makes it easier to read. I have a deadline. The book has to be back at the library in 4 weeks. That forces me to read the book. I should be doing that. I keep notes on books to keep an eye out for but when I check in at the library's computer, most of them are not there.sad So I spend money I don't have on books I don't have time to read.whistle [patgalca]
In my lifetime i have read so many books that i told somebody sometime ago i can spend a year locked up in the house doing nothing but read, read and read! That was when I was still young and single, no cellphone, no computer. I always brought books with me (borrowed or bought) everywhere i go and i never got bored, not upset even when a friend stood up on me coz when i'm engrossed in my reading i just forget to keep track of the time. But now time has changed. Unfinished books are on the shelf waiting, competing with mylot, the tv and my husband for my attention! Ok, enough mylotting, gotta join the love of my life and see what the soap operas got to offer... [alexandra777]

I love reading and the best timefor me is before bed as it helps my mind slow down before sleeping. But since I got married, I climb into bed most timesafter my husband and then the light is out! So I try my best to get some pages in before he complains about the light but it is hard. I miss my books! I have quite a collection but I borrow and buy either from shops or online or 2nd hand. Happy reading! [saffrondallas]
Happy sunday saffrondalls happy, welcome to mylot, and thanks for responding to my discussion. I hope You will enjoy it here. I am no longer a night reader, I use to be. However, I always fall a sleep before I even try to open it. I might be able to open, but no time to read one sentens. So I have given that up. I gave up reading for a long time because I couldn't sit for any length of time. That has passed and I've rediscovered the magic of books. Getting a new one is like all the holidays rolled into one. Remember the first day of school, new notebook filled with crisp paper and those number two pencils just waiting to be sharpened to a point? That's the feeling I get with a book. Will it grab me with the first sentence or is it necessary to delve deeper to find its secrets? The beautiful book jacket that can be used to mark your spot and the pages no eyes have seen before yours; the magic starts with reading the blurbs and moving on to the introduction. But the full impact of the trick doesn't hit unless you insist on reading through to the very last word. The end will either leave you wishing there was more or make you sigh with relief that it's over. Like a good magician, the good author always leaves you wanting more. [mysticmaggie]

I read a lot from the internet, but never books. I have books on pdf format but I cant stand reading a book in front of the computer. There's nothing better then relaxing on the sofa with my feet up and a good book :) [crisella74]

Hello my friend anetteh Ji, Internet is only my pass time, it can never be replaced with my hobby of reading books Even yesterday I purcased four detective novels and I would like to read them. I always tell others, taht basic thinks of human life should always remain, others may help, but primary things should remain in tact. I am on internet, climax of story is coming, suddenly link is lost, due to many raesons, but charm of o Internet can never replace books May god bless you and have great time. [maygodblessu44]
Hello my friend anetteh Ji, I would express myself after I express my views after seeing a movie, when some one asked me my free and frank opinion about picture, I told taht I went for entertainment and not for doing reserach on acting/actors etc. That is not my life, cinema going is just to refresh myself, never to carry in my head. I sit with you right from 4'O clock in the morning, as I am unable to spare any of my quality time after wards, becuse of many other activities including reading news papers, playing with my grand-children reading novels etc. All these things are meant for me and I am not meant for them.May God bless you and have great time. [maygodblessu44]

I still read, but not like I used to. I am finding that I am barely keeping up with my People magazine each week and am not devouring my books like I used to. I have probably close to 100 waiting for me on the bookcase. I have purchased most of them second hand at different places, but some from a book club and a few from the store. I rarely go to the library since I know I would NEVER have them finished in time to get back when they are due. I used to buy them at garage/yard sales and just don't look now like I used to. BUT I do own many books. Some that I have read and some that are waiting for me. [idowrite72]

I read every night before I go to bed. It's habit for me and unless I'm extremely tired it helps me fall asleep. [reinydawn]

I am a Book Worm. I can proudly tell you that. My dad get me all the books I need. he gets them for a dollar when the library discards them. and although am plastered to a computer monitor at least 10 hours a day. I still find time to read. I don't really like to read of a computer monitor but sometimes I'll do just that [agirlfromtomorrow]

I used to read lots of books too, however It has been a long time since I last read a book. I really love to surf on the net and now I am not having time to read too. It is a pity since books are really educational especially for children, where they can increase their imagination. We have to slow down from the net and start reading again. [GAUCI123]

Hi anetteh, Sure I have. I think time is what you make for it. It may be more aptly to put it as a question of priority. If you love reading enough, I guess you will somehow squeeze time for it. Then again, you need to grab a book that is good. Sometimes you can't seem to find any book that will keep you totally engrossed. Other times, you kept having the luxury of getting them. Cheers! lol [lordwarwizard]
Happy sunday lordwarwizard, happyfinding god books today is not easy, since there are so many of them. happy [anetteh]

Although the time for me is more and more little, I find it is important to insist reading. Now, we can read in many ways, such books, newspapers, magazines, and online. You can buy a book from store or just borrow it. So, it is easy to get reading and just takes a little time. For me, I still like reading books or newspapers, and usually borrrow it from a library. [connieconstance]
Happy sunday connieconstance, welcome to mylothappyReading is really important. It keeps your mind busy and educate you to. I do no longer have enough time to read novels or romans, but once in a while I read about topic containing things about my job, or my sons ADHD. I need to learn fod stuff about it. It can be usefull in working or for parenting.happy [anetteh]

Yes I always read after my dinner at bed before going to sleep. [balasri]
w00tHappy sunday to you balasri, god that some people find their time to read. [anetteh]

on most days, i usually try and read most nights. i mostly read non fiction as i really like history. you need to do everything in balance, especially if you are like me and have a bunch of things that i want to do. [cher913]
Happy sunday to you cher913 lolLike you I have a lot of things I would like to do. But I do not prioritize reading. Perhaps I should, really. But being online is timeconsuming, and when I am online I happen to forget the time and soon it has gone to far long time and it is time for bed. Yesterday I stayed online from 8 pm to middle of the night, and I did not track the time, it just happen. w00t But this evening I have to go to bed early, tomorrow is workday. [anetteh]

It's the same with me. Some years ago I used to read much more than now. That's because of the time I spend at the computer, connected to the web. But I keep liking to run thtough books at bookshops and, eventually, buying one. This will go to stay in some corner of my room till I decide to read it. But, as some time goes by until that day it can occur that I forget about the book. Last week I was reading one book. After some hours of doing it, I left it aside and began to put some order in the things at my bedroom. And then, from behind some papers, I found a book that it was the same I had just been reading! I think I won't need to buy anything for my brother's next birthday. Ü [oriental]

i had time for reading in online.......................... [pavanteja]

Iam not time to read books .I all so always sitting internet in mylot . [jayatheyagu]

Since I am still a university student and have little work pressure, I am quite lucky that I have enough time and books for reading. Usually I read in the university library or borrow books from it, when I meet books worthy of keeping, I will buy it without hesitation. Although we can read book through internet, it is a different feeling, also it does no good to our eyes. [yoyodaisy]

Even though i have no more time to spend on extra works.... But I never forget to read one page of my favorite books. I have no time to go library though I am very interested in going libraries. So what I do is,I am holding a small library in my room.So I can read books needed for my education. Also now I am used to buy books 4 or5 times a week. Also there is a proverb " Reading completes the man". So from child hood to evening of a life every one should read not only books but also every thing that improves our knowledge. [dha8nu]

The days do seem shorter. I guess it is relative to the amount of time you have been alive. Everyday I have off, I tell myself I am going to finish one of the books I have been reading. Sometimes, I do alright and atleast read some, but most of the time, I am still trying to get all I had in mind accomplished, so I do not get to it. When there is a little time, I do not feel like I am able to concentrate on what I will be reading. I don't like to make myself read because I should, I like to read when I have a genuine feel for it. [UtopianIdealist]

I go to my local store, and my library I usually prefer the library though because i can read a few books and if i like them i'll go out and buy them. Right now though im trying to get my Anita Blake series back up, i need to start from book one again. Its actually quite refreshing to get off the computer and read a book. Plus its also very relaxing :) [xxkumorixx]

I make time for writing. I have a ton of different books that I read all the time. When I go to take a Bubble Bath to relax I take a good book with me, or when it is a rainy day on the weekend I will curl up on the couch under a blanket and read a good book. I could go through a book within two days or so. Sometimes within one day. I usually read when I am on my lunch break for work too. [rmuxagirl]

Hello anetteh! If you meant reading for pleasure, I really do not have that much time for it. Most of my time is spent for reading books and internet articles that I can use for teaching. You are lucky to have the opportunity to be given free books. The books I usually read either comes from the local bookstore or my friends and relatives abroad send them to me. i used to read e-books but I don't get much good books in such format anymore.
