I might read a library book and enjoy it so much that I buy a copy and then keep it in my bookshelf. I sometimes buy books and don't enjoy them very much so I give them away. Travel books quickly get out of date so I tend to update these quite often. On the top shelf of my book case I have large books like atlases, on the middle shelf I travel books and on the lower shelf I have favorite novels and and few other books like non-fiction.
Do you have loads of books or just a few?
Do you keep a book after you have read it?
Do you go to your local library and borrow books?
What sort of books do you like to read?
[question posted by maximax8]
responses and comments:
Most of the time, I will buy a book that I want to read. I will buy a book from an author I like or that has been recommand by a friend that I know has the same taste as me :) I think I only have between 20-30 books because I start buying some only 3 years ago. I don,t buy a lot of books. [beyonce03]
Thanks for your very good response. It sounds like you have quite a small number of books. It is wonderful when you find some excellent authors and you get a number of their books. [maximax8]
I do not keep the book unless I buy it. I do not normally buy books as I could not have a home for them. Most of the times, I borrow from the library the books recommended by a friend. I no longer step into the library to browse for books to read. Naturally, I shun non-fictions. lol. [whyaskq]
So you must read a lot of fiction then.:P [lordwarwizard]
I like reading very much. I usually read before I go to bed reading helps me to fall to sleep. I usually save all the books that I buy. Sometimes I give them to my friends to read and they return them to me.I usually dont go to the library, but I should it would save me some money on buying books. It does not make any difference what kind of book that I read just as long that i enjoy reading them. [babystar1]
Reading a book before you go to bed is a good idea so is giving some of your books to friends to read. It sounds like you really enjoy reading. [maximax8]
Ummm...that really depends if I enjoyed reading that book a lot. It is quite surprising that I don't have a stack of books with me considering how much I love to read. Most of the books that I read are borrowed ones. I can't afford buying all the books that I want to read because it seems faster for me to read than to earn money to buy a book. It falls under my luxury budget for now. I have other priorities. Anyway, a book doesn't stay long in my arms because I read a book as fast as I can once I start reading. However, I really plan to collect the books that I read and I enjoyed reading them. I hope someday, I can achieve that and I'll be surrounded with books I love. Have a great day and enjoy reading! [mermaid911]
I can see that you really love books and reading. It is a great to borrow books and perhaps write down the title and author of the ones you like most. I also read quite fast. When I was studying English Literature we were meant to read each book three times. I still have some of these books that I really loved. I hope that you are having a lovely days and are enjoying reading some lovely books. [maximax8]
I tend to only read books when I go on holiday or travelling on the train for a long period of time, I used to be an avid book reader until the internet came along, now guiltily I very seldom get the chance to read! Books as you know are soooo expensive to buy new, £7.99 for a new paperback is a rip off! I like to buy my books from Charity shops costing 50p each, it helps the charity and it helps my pocket out, once I finish with the book I will give it to my 88 year old neighbour to read. I love reading detective novels like Rebus and Margaret Yorke as well as a good Martina Cole, I have about a dozen books, I don't like keeping them because they take up too much space. I have still got my reference books from when I was studying at college, they were expensive and I might need them in the future for info etc. [wolfie34]
It is lovely to choose some books at the airport before flying off on holiday or at a train station for a long train trip. Yes, books can be expensive, getting from a charity shop is a superb idea. I am sure that your neighbour appreciates getting some lovely books to read. I am also keen to avoid much clutter in my home but I do keep the books I love. Yes, I also keep books about teaching. Detective novels make an exiting read. [maximax8]
Do you have loads of books or just a few? - LOL I have a fairly decent size collection of books and thats after selling a good 100 books.. Do you keep a book after you have read it? - if I borrow it from the library and like it yes i will go out and buy a copy. Do you go to your local library and borrow books? - Well the nearest decent library is about 25 mins away but when we do get the chance to go... What sort of books do you like to read? - classics, horror, some self help, lots of spiritual stuff and graphic novels (some) [Ravenladyj]
Thanks for your excellent response. My nearest library is a twenty minute walk away and a mobile library van visits my area every two weeks. You like to read a variety of different types of books. So you sold the books you didn't want anymore to friends? [maximax8]
I keep my favorites. I have probably 100 books that I have read that I hang on to because I think I will want to read them again, some I have already read 2 or 3 times. I need to start getting rid of some, since I keep adding more, and I don't have a whole lot of space to keep many more. I often give them away or trade with someone. [Sillychick]
Yes, it easy to ruin out of space for anymore books. Trading books with a friend is a superb idea. Many thanks for your wonderful response. [maximax8]
I have quite a lot of books but they are mostly reference and non-fiction. Fiction has to be something I know I will read more than once to keep a place on the shelf. Other books have to "earn their place" as well. Anything I don't think I will read or refer to again I pass along. I do borrow books from the library. I think libraries are a great resource and often under appreciated. All those books and I don't have to pay for them or store them. It gives you a chance to read all kinds of books without spending any money (I know we pay via taxes). I recently borrowed a book on braid-making from the library which I can't find anywhere for less than £70! I like both fiction and non-fiction. Recent trips saw me come home with Ronald Hutton's "Stations of the Sun", George Ewart Evan's "Horse Power and Magic", "1610" by Mary Gentle and "1001 Gardening Hints and Tips". [huswyf]
You talk of a book that earns its place and I think this is a good idea when people are short on space. Yes, libraries are great places, where you can borrow an expensive book and not have to pay for it. When I studied in the Netherlands I happily paid to join the library but in the my home country it is free. [maximax8]
If this were 1980 i would answer like this .... Do i save books ? I certainly do In the beginning they are on shelves and very aesthetic but over time become a little clumsy and messy i might say I havenot gone to the library since i was a kid many many years ago I like to read and read very much novels, magazines, newspapers etc etc In 2007 I no longer really read for pleasure but only what is infront of me I have long ago given away all my books to the Garbage Man or friends.I am not into collecting DVDs a very expensive hobby i might add Thanks for sharing I will be Back [Cancer2005]
Yes, you used to enjoy collecting books because in 1980 you read for pleasure. Now in 2007 this is no longer so. Yes, getting many DVDs is an expensive thing to do. Many thanks fro your interesting response. [maximax8]
Nah, very seldom. Because I read so much, I borrow practically all from the library. No matter how much I like a book, I still don't like to re-read it right away. I will perhaps borrow it again when I feel like reading it months or years later. But if it is a reference book, I may xero the relevant pages. I do this occasionally. [lordwarwizard]
when i like a book,i will buy on the internet, because it has a good discount,so after i buy a good book i will recommend to my friends and lend to him/her.but finaly i will keep it in my bookself. [yaohuan]
We do go to the library, but we have a hard time getting books back on time and always end up owing money. I read a lot of non-fiction, but some fiction every now and again. I love buying books and usually keep them till we have to move and having 45 boxes of books is too many! I also gave away all my books from when I was a young girl, to my soon to be niece. She loves to read, so I figured it would be a good gift for her. [aidenofthetower]
i really like to read, i love finding a good book and getting caught up in it. when it comes to buying books though i don't buy many. i usually end up spending my extra money on Cds or clothing/accessories, haha. but i do love to get books from the library. i have bought books in the past though, i own about 10-15. i believe that i've bought all of them before even reading them too, and one is now my favorite book, the perks of being a wallflower. i really enjoy reading teen fiction the most. [xleslieanne]
I rarely buy books and only have a few of them that I bought when I was in a book club. If I buy a book I ususally keep it after I have read it, but I rarely read it again. I prefer to go to the library and borrow their books instead of buying my own. [breezie]
I borrow most of my books from the library or friends. I like mystery books, books about police work and even a few love story types. When we moved a few years ago we sold almost all of our books. I donate most of our books to the reading nook where I work. [lightningMD]
Between my husband and me, we have quite a bit of books! I usually either buy the books I have or get them as gifts. I like to get them from the library, as well. I like to read Christian romance novels, mostly. I also like devotional books, as well! I like to read children's books to my baby, too! My favorite author is Lori Wick, though! [Songbird425]
That is really nice question. It depends on the book i am reading. I mean if i love the book i just keep it to myself in memory of it. but if the book isn't that good that it should be with me then i just give it to someone. Mostly i love collecting each and every kind of book that i read. [soulkeeper16]
yeah i like to keep books for my own collection. [himoacs]
I don't use to read BUT I have a lot of books (so strange yeah ?! ). When I read I save my books in a safe place in order to other family members can read it too. [fvalente]
i like to read romance pocketbooks. i had tons of it here in our house. i really do keep it. i treasure it because some of them was given to me with my mother. some of them was bought in my high school years 15 yrs. ago. i don't often read books but if i'm interested about the content i really buy it. i also read magazines about home decorating co'z i like to decorate our home. and also cookbook. [ahyz_thea]
I tend to buy all the books I read, so I always keep my books unless I don't like them and then I'll attempt to sell them if possible. I'd rather sell them to someone, especially if they are in great shape and I know that someone will buy them. Cash for the books I don't like is always nice. [highflyingxangel]
I try to give it to someone else that i think this book might be interesting. I read and when i finished, i try to recommend this book to my friends, but not always my friends want to read it [limalimon]
I still keep my text books because such books are worthy to be kept. When I was a kid, I used to keep novel books after I read it. Then, I swapped them to my friends so that I can read my friend's novels and they can read my novels. Now, I prefer to go to the local libraries to read things. Libraries have huge collection of many books ranging from many various subjects. [friendship]
I'm the kind of person who likes to go back and reread a book I thought was good, so I have plenty of them around. If I borrow a good book at the library I make sure to buy it, and I never ever throw books away. I don't even think I've given any of the ones I didn't like away.. I used to borrow books at the library all the time, but now I've misplaced my library card... as soon as it shows up again I'll make sure to take a trip! I like to read practically anything, from biographies to historic non-fiction to fantasy and fiction novels. Just plain like books, I guess. [Sushicook]
I usually keep the books I really really enjoy. I do borrow books from the library but when they need to make room for more I usually try to buy those that made me what I am today. I love rereading the books I read so I can refresh my memory. [k1tten]
after reading books i do keep them with myself , or i give them to my friends.... [moon317317]
Yes, I have a collection of some very Old as well as New Books .And not only on Fiction;these are also on Non-Fictional Subjects such as story /History and Present of a City , a Personality etc . [icon_001]
I love reading; but I don't get to buy a lot of books because of financial constraints. But I do have a list in mind of the books I like which I will purchase sooner or later. One of these is the Harry Potter series. I'd love to buy it not only for my reading pleasure; but to be able to share it with my daughter and future grandchildren as well. The latest addition to my book collection was given by my mom this year. It's a book entitled, "Nuggets of Wisdom" where several quotations, proverbs, and sayings are written. I feel that it is somewhat of a treasure being passed upon by my mother to me. I seldom give away or throw books or magazines but when I do; they're usually magazines which are not of much importance for the future. [mykmari_08]
i dont have many books but few of them. i like to read books related to religious scriptures. Novels . [moon317317]
Most of the time i keep them. I hardly ever give book away. If i really dont like them then i sell them on amazon. So then i can get at least some of my money back. I dont really have a load of books. Maybe 20-30. I go to my local library often. I like reading books by danielle steel and stephen king. Also a little dean koontz. If its a really good book then i keep it so i can read it later on. [nmhschic2004]
I always keep the books I read, it's a collection I want to keep. I like reading kinds of books. [ucancallmedissy]
I often go to the library, and borrow some books from the library. Generally speaking, I would not buy the book that I have read from library, because my school is far away from my home, I don't want to bring so many heaven books to my home, although my parrents are very happy, another reason is I usually take note when I read the book, the important and the interesting parts in my note, so It's not necessaary to buy the same book. I like to read stock book, because I'm finance student, I'm interested in it.If I have time,I will read the detective novel, suspence could trains me have a ccurate determine. [zichen3]
I buy books I want to read but you were right there are books that don't have much to read. What I do with those is give to some readers who might have the interests in reading it. [MisterPlus]
yes i keep the book. and i read them again after some time. sometimes i let lend it to my friends, and they forget to return, and when i ask them where the book is, they just say "what book?", tsk tsk. :) [jdpartosa]
I have a wiew collection of books. I like to read books which have theme such as science and technology. Some of my books were gone and i don't know where they were gone. Sometimes my friends borrowed my books and they forgot to return the books. Well, i think i have to re-manage my collection !:) [indarto_pu]
I usually don't buy books for myself. People usually give them to me and then I read them and pass them on to someone else to read. I don't have a bookshelf to keep them on so I have to keep them in my closet and I don't really have a lot of room to keep a lot of books in there. My son has a little rolling cart in his closet where he keeps his little children's books. We do go to the library sometimes and borrow books to read. I like reading all different kinds of books. [sweetgirl_k1]
I have tons of books! I have so many that I have not read yet in a pile in the living room and tons more sitting on shelves that I have already read! I keep every book I buy even if I have already read it! [angemac23]
Hi,there! I do keep a book after I read it.I just think many of the books are pretty good and they worth the second reading.I usually would like to keep all my books clean.I don't have too many books but I cherish every one. They're like the wealth to me.I usually keep those good ones or some very nice novels.I seldom go to the library to borrow books now though I did it a lot when I was in the university. But sometimes I borrow books from my friends and we share each other's resources:) I think it's always good to read some benefical books. Thanks for the discussion and have a nice day^_^ [fanji008]
I have to say right now that if I have a book I like I usually tend to keep it, and re read it, as I tend to be a picky reader. I've bought many books that I just can't get into, and love to stick with true crime and legal thrillers.... I don't borrow books from the library often simply because I have a child who doesn't comprehend they have to be returned. mooch [oneandonemakesix]
When I was young I would only read books that I could keep which means I wouldnt borrow books from the library. Over the years I learned to get rid of them after I read them to make room for new books since I don't think I've ever read a book a second time. I have hundreds of books right now that I havent read. I love to read anything I can get my hands on. If I'm sitting somewhere and dont have a book I'll read anything I can get my hands on like a cereal box etc. My daughter who is 3 1/2 has my love for reading! We go to the toy store and she begs for a cart load of books to look at not Toys hehe. [shaggin]
well i like to keep the book which motivates us i mean like YOU CAN WIN and like to keep it in my home. other type of books's i donot like. [simplyman2006]
My friend told me that she will read a book and then give it away!!! I was so dumb founded. I will read a book put it on the shelf and then come back to it in a few months when I've forgotten exactly what happened in the book. I have a million books it seems. Not that many but alot. [tiffiny]
I have a few books that take up to book shelves. Most of them are fiction with a few pacific island material. I use to buy books from book stores and even thrift stores and keep most of them. Now and then I give them away but mostly the ones I buy I keep. When I do my yearly cleanout then I give the ones I don't want anymore away. Nowadays I borrow books from the library and return it before the due. It doesn't cost me anything except if I return it late LOL [maddysmommy]
Sure, I like keeping the books I've bought. I like reading. Even if I already finish reading it, I still like to read it some time in the future. Besides, I can also leave my books for my son and I don't think it'll be a waste to have lots of books at home. [youless]
Generally I don't buy a book after have read it. [steerforth]
When I was young I used to read lots of books. I spend more time reading than sleeping. I used to have huge collections of books. I used to buy second hand books and had membership in three to four libraries. I was really passionate in reading and spend lot of time in it. I lost that habit when I grow up and now a days I am getting less time. Those days second hand books were very cheap and easily affordable. I had a dream on those days of having huge library of books. I like reading fairy tales, detective books, mystery books, magazines like Tinkle, Inderjal Comics, DC Comics, Archies, etc. Comics were my favorite books. [ajithlal]
If I read a book and find it very interesting, I try to write those different passages and learnings that i get from it. Then, I let my book to be read by my friends or family members so that they will also have a share of what I have.. It's more enjoyable knowing new things if a lot of people share your interest, right? ;-) [goldybear]
nope, I've not liked a book so much from the library that I've bought it. I've got quite a number of books at home, so I've been trying to cut down. I've also donated some books to the church library since I don't think I'll be reading through them again. [squaretile]
I would like to keep the book I have read, no matter whether I have read it or not, I would like to keep them. I also like to buy some books in spite of haveing not read them. And i think keeping a book is much better than keeping something else. I like books. [happygreat]
We have loads of books at home. Like you, if I like a book that I borrowed from the library, I go out and get my own copy. We have 2 sets of encyclopedias...lots of children's books (from when I was a child and the ones we buy for our son)....and lots of other books too ...topics that interest me...very few fiction. [SViswan]
I have more than 2,000 books, collected since childhood. I have lots of text books since I have studied quite extensively, lots of poetry and lots of novels. I am not keen on romantic novels and have only a handful of those, mainly gifts from friends who know I love to read. I like the books of writers such as Patricia Cornwell, with lots of forensic details and it is fascinating what they can discover from a single hair. I was hooked on Lord of the Rings long before it became fashionable. The books of Barbara Taylor Bradwick I find inspirational. I don't believe anyone could achieve as much as Emma Harte in the books but they are certainly inspiring. Oh, and not bragging, I have a few books containing my own poetry and hope to add my first novel to the shelves next year. I never use the library nowadays because once I have read the book invariably I want to buy it and my partner thinks that is a very bad idea, can't think why lol. You should hang on to the travel books, particularly those with maps, since they often become collectable, as places get bulldozed and built over and genealogists in particular love to have photos of the place as it was when their ancestor lived there. Happy reading :-) [shelagh77]
hi maxima , Today i thought start a new discussion about the books, ok simply i go for yur discussion there i will find you started the discussion wht i plan to discuss.. Hi thax friend like same habit also i have. I am very much interst to read books , my money will go all the time for books but i dont worrry abot that that my favourit .. I love spend the time with my library in my home i started a samll library , all type good books i will keep ,fiction-non-fiction all catagory i have .. [neethucool]
yah il keep the book after i read it.i collect good books on a shelf and il read them all and soon, il read them again and again!!! [sheilamaye]
yeah i keep my book after i read it.i like to read horror, investigational stories etc.i do visit my local library one in a week. but i thnink only a few keeps book after they read it. i have a huge collection of books in my shelf. [kaly0707]
No, I never keep a book after I read it. I either sell it on ebay or give it to a charity shop. I just don't think I'd have the patience to read a book more than once. [Fiona20072]
Hi, I do liked to read books when I was in my school days I liked may be addicted to read those comics especially Tintin's, Phantoms, Superman, Spiderman, BatMan all these sorts of comics, and various other comics my self was full of these kinds of books, even though I had lot to study I liked to read these once read books are often read again and again. My parents were also afraid whether my marks get down if I spend most time in reading these comics. I too stored these books as a treasure. But my mom told that she would sell these books inorder to have space and finally I took these to uncles house. Later my uncle gave these books to nearby library even now it is there. This was when I reached my college. Even now I like to read those comics but rarely I store them. But books I would store them sometime I read again and again. [SHAMRACK]
Like you, I will often buy a book after I've borrowed it from the library to read. If I really love the book, I'll tell everyone about it but won't lend my own copy as I don't want it to get damaged. We have 6 bookcases full of books, some shelves double stacked. My husband has his own bookcase, I have one, my 2 and a half year old son has one and we share the others. [stardancer]
I read so much that I cannot keep every book that I read but I do keep a lot of them. I tend to keep all the hard back books. I have a lot of first editions that I have purchased over the years. Some of these books are signed by the authors and I know some of the authors. A lot of these are sealed and put in storage until I can move to a larger Apt. I gave a lot of books to my youngest daughter a few years ago when she got a place of her own. I have co-authored a couple of books too so I have to keep these. I have taken to reading books-on-line-Australia. They put bools on line that are still under copy right so they are very up to date. As long as you do not down load them, it is like going to the library. [Adoniah]
Well i do keep a book after i read it unless it is a library book ... books that i have read mostly i brought it myself yea .. after reading i will simply put back to the bookshelf yea [Sir_bobby88]
I love books. Have more than a few. Yes most of the time I keep a book after I read it. I like novels. Fiction, non fiction, a few political books. I have recently discovered a good site. Its www.bookmooch.com You trade(not purchase) books for free with people based on a point system. All you pay for is the shipping of the books you send out. It looks like a wonderful system. [ersmommy1]
I used to have a ton of books, I'm down to just a few now, but I'll be rebuilding my collection eventually. Sometimes I love a book so much I know I'll want to read it again and again (after a reasonable time span of course). If it was a library book, there's no guarantee that they'll still have it when I want to reread the book. So I buy/keep books I know I'm going to want to read again. [wiccania]
Well lets start off with your first question, I have loads of books and no where to put them half the time I have already went through over two book shelfs. For the second question Yes I keep them all unless I don't like it then I ebay it so that I can buy another book with that money. Question three I don't step foot in a local library because 9 out 10 times I will want to read it over and over agian. So I have come to the conclusion what is the point of borrowing a book that I'm going to run out to buy. Question four. I love all types Paranormal, romance, mystery ,Action, sci fi, you name it I;ll try reading it. [bellaofchaos]
I've only got one book shelf due to space limitations but that things has enough books on it for three or four shelves. Every area is filled with two or three layers and I've even resorted to stacking books on top of it. I keep books I've read, lend them out on occasion to people I know. Even re-read a few of them once in a while. I don't borrow books from the library anymore (more like can't till I give them a $50 -_-;) but I have started stopping in at bigger libraries to pick up stuff from their sale tables. Nothing like a hardcover book for fifty cents. But that backfires once in a while as I find out a book is part of a series so I wind up buying the rest of them full price. I read... mostly fantasy novels, some sci-fi. <_< some romance... Mostly only if it's say Mercedes Lackey, Johanna Lindsay or Linda Lael Miller [Arkadus]
I love to keep books so I buy them. Even if it is not a good read, I keep them. I love to read Fiction, Literature and also Autobiographies. I bought 3 new books last weeks- 2 are fiction and 1 is literary. I have started collectiong books quite quickly so I think I have quite a few of them. I do not like to borrow books from local libraries. [Buttercup26]
Since I am getting older, I tend to read more. But I hardly finish a whole book in a short time as I am too busy with the daily chore. For the time being, I am the sincere reader of online daily mail. LOL In fact, I don't have loads of books as there are not many spaces for me to store them. But I do keep a few books that I really like and hope my daughter may interest when she grows older. I mainly like to read the people's autobiography and the true story. [Madona1]
Books are my weakness. I try and avoid charity shops and boot sales otherwise I'll end up with a bag full. Then if I'm feeling down when out shopping I have to try and avoid going into a book shop and impulse buying! And then I hate to part with them. Probably why I have over 200 books, probably nearer 300. Fictionwise I favour Sci-fi and Fantasy, though historical fiction and other bits and pieces occasionally make an appearence. I also have a lot of books on archaeology, classical history, and mythology. I still use the library though. Got three books out this week - one fantasy, one historical and the third is 'modern' whatever that means (it seems more comic historical). Sometimes if I read a really good book from the library I will go out and buy it, usually from a secondhand website. Don't get me wrong, I like new books but I also like cheap books! As long as all the pages are there, I don't mind it's condition. [Fidget]
*looks at boxes of books* I need new bookshelves!! I have LOADS of books. My partner also has LOADS of books... *sigh* I never part with my books. I used to borrow books but I'd alway buy them afterwords. It's odd because I don't often re-read books. In fact the only books I have read more than once (fiction than it) are The Chronicles of Narnia and Watership Down. I read sci-fi mostly but also fantasy, horror and classical. [ShardAerliss]
I like reading and I like to buy books from the book store too.But I usually go to the library to borrow books because I don't have enough space to keep the books.Since I've keep more than 400 books at home already. When I finish reading a book and I don't think I'm really like it , I would sell it to others on ebay.Cos I think maybe someone would like it.But if I finish a book I borrowed from the library and I love it very much, I will go to the store to buy one and keep it too. [yuriii]
When there is a library nearby, I go there and check it out. Back in school days, the library is one of my favorite hangouts. I have some books at home that I've collected over the years, not loads, but just enough. Some that I really like, upon reading from borrowing, I'd go look for a copy of it in the bookstore and buy one as I'd also like to be able to read it over and over. I read different books that catch my interest. Most of my collection though is of romance stories. [MariaD]
Hi,there, maximax, Thanks for the add and willing to be friends..;-) As for me I have loads of books these all my parents bought when I am a little child .My mother wanted me to read more books then I can become a wise girl. However, it is a pity that these books are all the intention of my parents' favorite not mine ,I don't like to read them at all,I like the books which are choosen by myself.. Now I will buy some books that are written by my favorite authors or borrow them from the school lab .Most of the time I will borrow from the school lab as there are so large variety for me to choose in the lab so I don't need to buy them from the bookstore. After reading them When I discover the books I read is fit to my taste and some concept that can accept by me then I will find the other copy in the bookstore . I 'd like to read the books that is full of philosophy and some Biography books that are all my favorite.. Molly;-) [comeonmolly]
When I buy books, I really make sure that I keep them...I also like hanging out in libraries because there are really interesting books there that I can't find in local stores...I like reading books that discuss political issues in a humorous way, without the real issue being greatly ignored.... I love books. I borrow, buy, collect, and read them all over again. I dream to have my own library in my future house. Books I love to read: General Fiction, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Fairy Tales, Comedy Books, Biographies, Travel Books, Cookbooks, How-To books, Photography, Interior Design, Art, Philosophy, Classics, Medicine & Life Sciences, Astronomy ... and some graphic novels, comics, and magazines of various genre. I live in a small 2-bedroom condo filled with books. That's why I dream to have a house where I can solely have a space for my precious books. [overdosed]
I keep a few of my books, I love to go the library but I like to be able to take my time to read a book and soak in the meaning of the story so I buy my own, then the ones I like really well I will keep that way if I ever want to I can go back and read them again. [bsaraquse]
I read a lot in periodes. If I really like the book,I put it in my shelves, and read it again after some time. I never go to the library, but I think this is a good place. I prefer to buy pockets, and just now I read crimes and true stories [WinnieThePoe]
I like reading books, and I like buying books too. I'm not sure how many books I've bought. When I'm free I'm going to the bookstores. If I find a book interesting after just reading several pages I begin to have an urge to buy it. So I've got a lot of books now. Some of them I've finished and some I just read part of it. I like history very much. The stories of emperors and deologists, the culture of each dynasties let me fell very rich. [KrisLee]
It´s always a problem to by books by an unknown writer. If you read the text on the back on the book,it can sound good, but is very boring whe you begin to read. I put most of the books I´ve read,in my book-shelve.Some of them I´m sending to my father, who also likes to read [WinnieThePoe]
I don't buy many books anymore, I mainly use the local library. I read mostly Christian fiction, but if a particular book is recommended to me that I like, I'd buy it if it was something I'd like to refer to again. Example: Inspirational, nutrition, medical, spiritual, etc [Ldyjarhead]
I do keep the books. depending on its content. i normally keep the books that influence me. i sort of read it again to refresh myself. yes i do. i wish i could have a library of choice books that my children's children. [JAYMAR777]
I have hundreds of books and if I like when I read it I keep it. I've just started trying to sell some of the books I didn't like that much on eBay but it's hard, I had to list them twice and I've still only sold two. I don't use the local library anymore as I have two books that were due back years ago and it's just too embarrassing to take them back. I don't seem to have enough time for reading anymore I used to read books really quickly but now it can take me months just to finish one. I like fiction and biographies of people who I find interesting, along with non-fiction books about my interests and hobbies. [nancyrowina]
I am studying film making and I travel a lot because of my occupation, so it is a luxury to me to have a huge collection of books, simply because I still do not have a place to settle down - but once I have found a nice place to live somewhere on Earth, I will definitely start collecting books again. I used to buy books when I was a student in a philological university, and I still keep them all in my parents' place, and never give or sell them away. [Vintervarg]
Yes, i have load of books and i keep them. But i still go to library to borrow books because there are many collections that i want to read. I like detective novels and funny stories. [manya_pearl]
Yes I do - books are like treasures to me, so I keep a lot of them. I have quite a lot of books and I sort through them sometimes in order to make room for new ones, but some books will allways stay with me because they have a special significance. When I pick up these books I remember how they made me feel, when I read them. I borrow from the library but not very often because I would like to own books that are important to me. [tmg761]
