Although it has an advantage to borrow a book. That is you will finish reading it as soon as possible so that you can return it. However, I still like buying a book. As it'll be clean and I can read whenever I like. I like to own something that belongs to me:)

responses and comments:
Hello, youless,i do not like to read books honestly,i will not buy a book becasue i know i will not finish it,i will just waste my money,so it is better for me to borrow the book,in case i feel bored with the book,i can just return it without spending any money, but i have to remember to return the book or i will have late returning fees charged by the library. [easy888]
It's fine that you don't like reading, you must have something important and interesting to do in your spare time. [youless]
I like to buy books rather than to borrow. After i buy books i just can keep it for myself. And im making my own book collection which is helping alot on buying books. And if i burrow books than i will have to return it in time..sometimes i can't even enjoy the book properly thinking about returning in time.I just happen to read it fast in order to return it in time. So, i think if you want to enjoy reading book then it is alot better to buy yourself rather htan to burrow it. [diillu]
I feel the same way diilu~! I'd rather buy than borrow even if it means my coming out from my own pocket.. =) [mean_queen]
really, I don't like read a book and I hate that. But if I will be oblige to do that I will buy it surely, I want not to borrow anything althought that it's simple. ;) [extra_man]
Thanks for your response and have a good day! [youless]
hi youless! i love reading and i love to buy new books.. Because i love collecting books by some authors.. and hopefully have a library in my home one day. I don't mind buying secondhand books if it's too difficult to obtain.. like the old canvas-bound books by Leo Tolstoy. [shemah]
Oooh, I wanna have a library too!! I love reading and I prefer to buy than borrowing, because some people are very particular about the way other people handle their books (like me!).. LOL [mean_queen]
Hi, youless. I like reading books. However, I do not buy too much only if it's in need or I'm really interested in it. On most occasion, I just borrow them to read. By the way, more and more books are more expensive than before. :) Have a nice day! [mexshyl]
You're absolutely right, youless. In any case, they're priceless!!! :) [mexshyl]
I very rarely read a book, probably 2 in 10 years. But I will not borrow for some reason, I will have to go and buy it brand new. [Calais]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
I don't really like to borrow books what so ever because I'm afraid of bending a corner or something. Some people don't really mind if that happens to a book they own, and then there are other people who can freak out over a small wrinkle. I mean I can't blame them. If that's how they feel about their book then they have every right to because they bought it. The only person I really feel comfortable borrowing books from is my grandmother because she rarely wants the books back any way. :) [Tarrish]
You have a very kind grandma:) [youless]
hey afterall some one has to buy it [kunalbalani]
That's true. Thanks for your comment. [youless]
If its a book I really like then I'll buy it but if I just want to read a little bit to see if I'll get into it, I usually just borrow or go to the library. [djbizmonkey34]
It's not easy to borrow the latest and best books from the library. Usually the books in the library are old. [youless]
The "problem" with me is that I read too much. I am an avid reader and to buy every book I read means that I would have to spend a bomb both to get the book, and to allocate a place to store it. That said though, I do buy books and they are usually those that are written by my favorite authors. I like to buy to support them for their efforts. ;-) [lordwarwizard]
Reading is a very good habit:) Thanks for your response. [youless]
If it were up to me, I would have floor to ceiling bookcases in every room, and all the books would belong to me! Books are oe possession which I am quite greedy about. When I moved, I brought very few books with me -- the special ones -- and donated the rest to the library. I don't miss those books now, but I really cried when I had to pack them up and give them away. [HannahJane]
I like to keep books at home. Although I won't read them very often, but at least I feel good to have them. Maybe they will be useful for my child in the future. [youless]
i'd rather borrow a book. i normally finish a book in 3 days or less. and i just can't get myself to spend money on books. however, at times, i buy books which i really like. second hand though. [godhunter_18]
You read the books very fast. It doesn't matter whether you buy the books or borrow them, the key is you like reading. [youless]
Both actually, if its a pocket book or a paper back book I will only borrow it till I have read it twice. Then when I am finished I will give it back, what was important to me is the story and it has been embeded in my mind. The books that I like to buy are biology books and Pet Books with lots and lots of illustrations. I have a big collection of those because in my thinking I wouldnt have room in my mind to save that information and I love looking at animal picture its one of my simple pleasures in life. [nielcdg]
I also like books have lots of illustrations. I bought computer books before, and that kind of books are easily out-of-date but also very expensive. [youless]
I think either is okey for me as long as it is a real good one for me to read [gracelee114]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
Well i really don't read too many books nowadays as kid i was into books be it school books, comics, classics, ... you name it. LOL. But now i only read books that inspire me like alchemist and who moved my cheese best sellers. So i prefer to buy them as everytime you read them you discover something new and fascinating. And you are not hurried for time and read it in your leisure time. [banta78]
Very good, I appreciate your response. [youless]
I much prefer to buy books rather than borrow them as then it doesnt matter how long I take to read them and if I really like them I can read them again at a later date, I have a book shelf of books and some I have read several times! [Cassy1976]
That's right. Thanks for your reply. [youless]
If it is just another book that soemone referred to me as a good book, I can borrow it and read. But if I really want to read a book whose author is liked by me very much, I will try to buy the books. Usually I buy books in my native language online, and now I have a considerable collection of books.. [shan_ab]
Most of my books are written in Chinese. But I also have lots of English books as I want to improve it as much as I can. [youless]
i love to read books. i have this tendency of not going to sleep unless i've finish reading whatever book that am reading at the moment. i love to buy books also. not only me but my mother and older sister as well. our friends and neighbors would always comment that our house is like a library: full of books from dictionaries, to encyclopedias to novels, etc. etc. etc. LOL... my sister and i also have this habit that if we read a book and we love it, we tend to look for the other books that the same author wrote until we collect them all. hehehehe... [marifel1986]
House is like a library is very good. Although my son is still very little, but I still like to buy books for him. A good education can't be without books:) [youless]
Borrow, I rather save my money for something else. [liperoterachel]
Very good, thanks for your reply. [youless]
I like to borrow the book because when I want to read a book, it doesn't take me that long to read. I wouldn't want to waste the money on buying the book unless it's a book that I love and will read over and over again. [Flamechampboom]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
I like to buy a book, youless, but I am really, really trying to borrow more books than I buy these days. Unfortunately, I am so impatient that if I see a book that I want and the library doesn't have it, then I am likely to just buy it. [Transdisc]
WOW, great library! I wish I had one like that nearby... snif... For me, it's second-hand-book tents on some streets, or the old but always updated bookstores from Corrientes Avenue, second hand and/or brand new, if you can't find it there, then the bokk probably doesn't exist, ha ha ha... But I wish I had a good library around... [marinarovi]
if i love the book that i am reading, i'd buy it even at the book sale or at any second hand store. i try to look for good books in those places. but if i have to buy it as a brand new and more expensive, i'll just borrow it first then buy my own whenever there is a sale on that book :) [gwenmari1029]
Nowadays I buy books via the net and usually I will have a special discount. That can save some money:) [youless]
I seldom buy books, except I love it so much that I can not help to buy.usually,I just borrow books from my friends or library.actually,I think borrowing a book can make me read it as long as I have time to do.if it belongs to me,I will think whenever I want to read, then I can ,so sometimes,I waste some time playing.so to some extent, borrowing books can save some time for me and can impel me to read the book as soon as I can. [angela2006]
Borrowing books can let you finish the reading sooner, I agree to it:) [youless]
it depends on what kind of books.if it is a tool, like a dictionary,i will buy it and keep it.but if it is just for fun, like magazine or something like that,i like to borrow it from the library or just read them in the library. but some books are classical,i like to keep them, when i have time,i will take a look at it,even i have finished it already. [yanstill]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
same here.. i prefer buying a book rather than borrowing it.. its me who let friends borrow books.. i can read the book anytime and anywhere i want.. [masterviajero]
It sounds nice, thank you. [youless]
i love shopping... :D so i like very much to go in a hypermarket and see all the books that they have and then to choose one and buy it but if i want to read a certain book and i know that one of my friends have it i will borrow it from him. i always say that i will give it back after i read it whenever will be, because i don;t like to be stressed by a date! and they are ok with that! [Lecaro]
here at supermarket we can find only news papers or magazines :d [Lecaro]
hi, youless. I love buying books. when i go out, i usually go into a bookstore and select some book i'm interested in. huh. I also like to buy some book on the website, the cost's lower than the bookstore. [jackli]
I agree with you. Buying books from the internet bookstore will save a lot. They often offer discounts. [youless]
I borrow books all the time from my friends, and I buy second-hand books from time to time and sell them right after I finished reading them... but I still think there are some books worth buying, and keeping. I don't know why, and I'm pretty sure I'll never read them again, but it's just nice to have them there in MY bookshelves. Besides, I enter a bookstore and can get lost in there for hours (my boyfriend teases me, he says I love books more than I love him, I should be banned 100 meters from a bookstore, ha ha ha) [marinarovi]
I don't know, but I'm begining to think it is a common disease for all book lovers, he. Enjoy your library, loud as it may be!! [marinarovi]
I like to buy books and I almost never borrow books from the library (except when I was in school and needed all those reference books which were too boring to buy). I like to own books and I love seeing them sitting on my shelves. And I don't like to be in a hurry when I read books, I like to think time and enjoy it to the fullest. If I borrow books from someone or the library, then I am always in a hurry to read. I don't like that hurrying feeling. [wondericequeen]
I agree with you, thanks for your reply. [youless]
actually, i hate reading books...its bcuz im too lazy to do it....the only book i read is harry potter..and i read only 15 pgs...then ...i fell asleep..lol... [sandeepram]
Then I suggest at least you shall have a book at home. When you can't sleep, then it'll be helpful for you:) [youless]
I 'd rather buy a book. I do not mind if other people borrow my books, although I keep my Discworld series non-borrowable. I fthey don't return it I assume the book has found a new, much-needed space to full in th euniverse and ussually I let it be. But for me I like to buy books, so that if I like it I can read it again. If I don't like it I can always just pass it along again. [keda69]
In fact when I lend my books to others, I feel worried. As I don't know when they can return it... [youless]
Sometimes buying ,somtimes borrow. [kineychen]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
If it is books that uplift my spirit and other inspirational books I buy them in the bookstore. But if it is only something that I think would be better to just borrow it like novels, since I don't really like fictions, I would just borrow it from my neighbor or rent it. I feel it's just a waste of money buying novels hahaha sorry for people who likes to read them. [bestfriends]
Everybody has a differerent favorite for books. It's alright:) [youless]
As much as possible, I do not want to borrow books. I want to have my own books so I wont have to borrow from anyone. I am always afraid about damaging the things that I borrow especially that I have kids at home. If the book is something of my interest, I would like it more to own it instead of just borrowing it. [hersmart4ever]
We are something in common in this aspect:) [youless]
It really depends on how interested I am in the book. If it is a book that I am only using for research, I might just borrow it for a while, and then return it. That's why I like the library, but if it's a book that I am really interested in and will probably read again, I will more than likely buy the book. [danishcanadian]
I am not interested in the library here, because they books are so old and dirty. [youless]
i like to buy them as much as possible cause i love watch them til i read them and also after i finished them i am proud of watching them.i like the smell af a new book i like to see them new and beutiful here in my library and when i read them to see that step by step the new files became read files [andrejuly84]
I prefer to buy books, but have borrowed them in the past. I also lend books out. Funny, I never seem to get them back when I do that... lol [miketomeo]
I have the same bad experience like you and I do hate people who won't return books to me. And I hesitate to ask them back just because they are my relatives or friends. [youless]
I agree with you. If you can borrow it, why not, right? The important thing is that you have read the book. When people ask me what gift I want to receive, I always say books and then I give them the titkes of the books I have read and would want to read over and over again. Either way, I win! Ha! [soulsister_16]
You are very wise:) [youless]
i like to buy a book cause u can reread it ove and over again! and it feels good that u own one! [hillock]
That's true. I bought books sometimes but at present I don't have enough time to finish them, sad to say. [youless]
i like to buy one cause u can read it over and over again! plus it feels good when u owned one! [hillock]
sorry i posted twice. hehehe! can i blame my pc then? LOL! [hillock]
I love reading and I find it practical to borrow books from the library ,rather than buying books....If I take books from the library,I finish reading faster since I have to return it and also I am able to read a wide variety of books.....If I bought all the books I have read,I will go bankrupt soon and also I will find it difficult to accomodate so many in my home.... [mithrarao]
Oh dear ,I do not know a word of Chinese .Any way thanks for your offer,youless....Have a nice day... [mithrarao]
I would like to borrow books from school's library!or i buy them as collection when i like them very much! [jiangli]
It sounds good, thanks for your response. [youless]
hi... i love buying books. my bookshelves are literally overflowing. it's everywhere in my room, under my bed, on my bed, on my chairs, on my desks and even on top of my tv...hahaha... though i borrow some that i am interested in reading but not quite sure if i really like it... i love the smell of new books.. .how about u? [shiloh_222]
I think I like buying different kinds of books and always have the passion to finish reading them. However, I don't have enough time, so usually they are just in the bookshelves. [youless]
I am a library goer. I love our library system. I buy some books, but rarely ever read them more than once, so I'd rather borrow them from the library. I do loan out my books and pass them on to others. I have donated books to libraries and thrift stores, so others might enjoy them. [sherrir101]
Books are good donations. [youless]
I would rather buy the book. It is then mine for keeps, and I can take as long as I can reading it. If I borrow a book from the library, which is quite a distance away, or from our Church or Church school library, they allow you twenty-eight days and I might need more to go through and study it, especially if it is a non-fiction. I do not mind borrowing books, if I want to find out if they are any good, sort of a try out, but if I really like it, I will buy it. I can pick one up at a second hand store or get it new. [suspenseful]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
I would prefer to buy my own book. If I would borrow a book I have to read it fast as I have to return it to the owner. I wouldn't want to annoy the owner. However, if the book is mine, I can take time to read it however long I want to take. [sophylline]
i think it is an advantage to just borrow a book without borrowing it because like that you would read it too and you wouldnt spend money on buying it! [darkaeon]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
I dont like borrowing books, I like to buy it. I hate borrowing becuse I know I can never treat it as my own. [nrsatish29]
Thanks for your reply. [youless]
I prefer to buy a book as I am a slow reader. I am used to read a few pages of my favorite book before going to bed. Other than that I could do my reading while I am riding in a bus or waiting in a long queue. I won't be able to enjoy this privilege if I were to borrow a book. [lkbooi]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
I always prefer tobuy a book as I don't like to have the responsibility if it gets lost, especailly if it is very difficult to replace that book which I would have borrowed. Definately aI prefer toby, evne if it costs me more, the hassle is less. [yanjiaren]
I have the same feeling. [youless]
If i really like a book but can't afford to buy a new one, I simply borrow it. But as much as possible I would want to buy. When reading, i'm fond of writing down my ideas on the side of the pages as well as highlight important lines in a paragraph so it's really better if the book is mine. [irene_27]
I hope you will earn some money from Mylot and therefore you can use it to buy books:) [youless]
OK,it´s good that we´ve the library. But I will own my books,so I can read it when I´ve time. Also I like to read books that no one had read before me. Perhaps it´s a strange idea. [snawitz]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
There are some friends that I don't mind borrowing books from but on the whole I perfer to buy them myself. When I borrow a book I feel more pressure to finish it and return it. When I'm reading my own book I can take my time and enjoy it more. Also I like the option of being able to reread it or parts of it whenever I want. [maybebaby]
I like to have my own books because I can finish reading them whenever I like. [youless]
I like to buy books too. When I am at my mom house I liek the library at home she has.I would like to have one like her or even better and bigger one.But sometimes it is pretty hard since I am moving very often and books are pretty heavy.Sometimes I just have to borrom them from the library and return them back. But yeah it is much nice if they belong to you and you can read them over and over. [laurika]
Perhaps one day you will settle down and have your own home library:) [youless]
I like buying books but I also borrow books from my friends. If I really really like the book then I prefer to have it as my own so I'll buy it. [jhoana_joey]
Thanks for your reply. [youless]
i like to buy books bcs if you borrow books not easy that book you have always when you wana read that so better we byu [ishqvishq]
I agree with you:) [youless]
There are books that I will just borrow especially those books that I only need as reference and if I can't afford to buy one for me. I also buy book that I really want that I can do some markings on it. [seagoddess]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
It really depends on the book I want to read. If its something that I want to have like Harry Potter then I'll buy it but if I just want to read during my spare time then I'll just borrow one. Our school library often had the book that I want to read and being one of the employees' daughter, I have the privilege to return it whenever I like as long as I named the book to my mom. [cherryblossm90]
I think there is an advantage of buying a book. That is I can leave my books for my child:) [youless]
I prefer to buy my books ..I have hardly ever gotten a book out of the library or borrowed one. Since I like to underline, highlight and write in the margins, It is much better that I purchase my own books. [littlefranciscan]
You are right:) [youless]
In most cases, I will choose the new book. Mainly because I cannot borrow books exactly needed from library or others place. [chenjun_yao]
Thanks for your reply. [youless]
Most of the time i will borrow a book. But in some occation i will have to buy a book. I like buying too but i don't have a lot of buying that many books. [Athrun_9738]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
I want to have my own books. Perhaps I´m a bit strange, but I don´t like the feeling that someone else have read it before me [Sthlm_59]
hi!youless!I used to buy some books what I love ,and borrow or exchange some books what I don't care from some friends. [eddieleung]
Thanks for your reply. [youless]
I love buying books! I never borrow any books except a friend has something I want to read but I don't intend to buy. I just love the feeling of owning books and knowing that they are already there when I have time to read! [wondericequeen]
I like buying books via the net because it will give me a better price. I know the books in Hong Kong are usually very expensive. [youless]
Either way is fine by me. So long as I can read it and all then that is fine by me. I don't mind buying the book but so long as I can afford it. [Savvynlady]
well youless i also have the hobie as you do however sometims i also just borrow books from the libary and read. you know the books devided into two parts: some kind of books you just want to read it once and never read again. so for this kind of book i just borrow and read. and another kind of books are defferent: they are worth reading for twice or even more times, for this kind of book i may buy and store them on my book shiefs. so it depends, especially for those tool-books as you need to check up frequently it is necessary for you to buy and own them of course. [jc00771]
Here the books in the library are old and not clean. I don't like reading them. [youless]
Whenever i borrow a book somehow it always ends up at the bottom of my reading list. I always feel so guilty becasue i usually borrow a book for so long that when i return it the person ofter forgets they lent it to me. I would much rather buy a book and take aslong as i need with it should i get busy or seomthing. [Farside604]
Thanks for your response. [youless]
i prefer to borrow books now than buying. books are getting really expensive nowadays... and if i am to buy one, i would usually buy from book sale which is about 70% less of the original price. :) [chiyosan]
It's true that books are much more expensive than before. [youless]
I prefer to own my own books [Sthlm_59]
I definately prefer buying books. One of the main reasons I buy the books I read is because we have an extremely small library in the town I live in, and they don't have many of the books I want to read. [kellys3ps]
Perhaps your books collection are more than the library one dayhappy [youless]
