I do prefer E-Books if i have to read it at home and if i have to read the books when i am not at home then i prefer Text Books,,, but most of the time i prefer E-Books as i can search anything by just clicking the Find button,,, and its easy and fastest way to read books...and also its free to download from internet, so i don't have to spend a single penny for buying E-Books.
And TextBooks are easy to carry whenever you are not at home and you can view it whereever you want...
So what would you prefer???
E-Books, or Text Books.
Share your thoughts...

I hate reading E-Books, I'm not sure why... I love to read a good text book though. I've always got a book going at all times. :O) [quiltedblessings]
yeah, sometimes we don't know the reason why we hate something,,, and its good to read text books... Thanks for being here...happy [mnsrwt123]
I prefer reading text books. I usually print out pdfs I have to read. I find it very difficult reading off the computer screen for any length of time. Maybe I should look into getting a Kindle? [egdcltd]
Yes, I'll use the search facility of a pdf to find something specific. Then usually read it in the hardcopy if I've printed one. [egdcltd]
Hi, I love Text Books. I'm reading all the time I can. I don't like very much E-Books.When I get a book in my hands I'm feel that I'm realy read. I can't explain that but is it. cheers! [teka44]
yup, i do agree with you that text books are good feeling to read and it can be read anywhere,,, Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
Oh a book has to be on paper! There's something just not right about reading for pleasure on the screen. The exception is reference stuff, for which an ebook is very useful. I used to have a boyfriend who would download books onto a handheld device and read them on the train. I have no idea how he could read for hours on end off something so small. I'd have had a headache to beat all headaches in no time! [GreenMoo]
hmm, i also love to do this stuffs if i really like the contents of the pdf and then print them to read while travel... Thanks for responding!!! Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
I actually read a chapter from a book online today and even though I really ebjoyed what I was reading I didn't enjoy the experience as much as I would have done sitting comfortbaly on the sofa or laying in bed reading an actual book. So I prefer text books myeself. Ellie :D [ellie333]
yeah, text books makes you reliable to read it anywhere, Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
I don'y care at all for e-books. i find it too difficult to set at the computer to read for very long. I want a text book that I can take tp my easy chair or to my bed to read. I also like a text book because I can take it to appointments and with me when I travel. [deebomb]
yup, thats all about a text books that we can read them anywhere like in bed and travelling,,, [mnsrwt123]
I say text-books. As I very often like to read when I go by train or bus,itīs a bit heavy if I shall carry around my computer [Kahawa]
yup, thats all matter when you don't have computer to read, its the only way to read... [mnsrwt123]
I like real books as for ebooks they all give me a head acke lo but I can find more of whayt I want in them [Lakota12]
ohh, i think if i have to read a text book then i find it difficult to find any topic or anyword there in textbooks rather than ebooks... [mnsrwt123]
I prefer text books. I don't like to read on the computer at all. My eyes get tired faster and I don't seem to read as long. But I agree with you that it is nice to be able to click on something to find out more about it. I think I will always enjoy the feel of a book in my hands. [makingpots]
lol, my eyes also got tired when i read books on my screen, but its good if i have some programming concepts to understand rather than reading a whole novel...which i don't usually read... Have Fun!!!happy [mnsrwt123]
There is nothing more enjoyable than curling up in a chair and reading a good book, I don't bother with e-books at all. [recycledgoth]
well, all have their choices and i like ebooks more than text books...as it doesn't cost me a single penny....lol Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
Call me old-fashioned, but I greatly prefer hardcopy. This is especially true of books. I like being able to hold them, and feel them and take them where ever I want to. From the bedroom, to the office, in a bath, on a plane. It's just so much more convient than staring at a computer screen, which I do enough of anyways with-out adding reading books to the list. I know that e-books are a godend for many. They are great for the visually impaired because screen-readers can read the books aloud to them, but for just about everyone else, I would suggest owning and reading the real-life books. Maybe it's just me, but I much prefer the paper and glue. [filmbuff]
thats all about textbooks or hardcopy, and you made a good point about visually impaired person, i didn't think about this earlier,,,thanks for sharing Have Fun!!!happy [mnsrwt123]
I still prefer to read text books, I get such sore eyes when looking at the computer for a long time, and it is just not the same somehow as picking up a good book and getting stuck in! I think that e books are the one thing that I may just not get into. [gemini_rose]
hmm, you are right gemini, but i only like to read ebooks when its a short notes type and all about programming otherwise say no to reading...lol Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
I prefer reading printed books. I like to snuggle up comfortable and really get into them. I find with E Books that you can easily lose the thread with the distractions on your computer, and I like to lounge in the garden and read in the sunshine. So... it's printed books all the way, for me. Brightest Blessings. [Darkwing]
I guess a laptop would make an E Book more portable, but heavy! sad You're more than welcome, and thank you. [Darkwing]
I think I would rather read a text book. I am not too familiar with an ebook. I have seen them online but do not know much about them. I would like to know more about them because I am always online and it would be alot easier for me to take the time to read. [stephcjh]
yeah, its a lot easier to read books when your computer is on, and all you need to dwld a Adobe Reader which is free of download and then download some ebooks which are in pdf format then open them in adobe reader,,, you can search text, view images and all other stuffs absolutely for free... Have Fun!!!happy [mnsrwt123]
E Books.. I prefer reading E books to text books cos Text books are very costly to buy.. Other than that in My field of study.. iLl need many text books at once to refer.. If I want to carry them around , it would be one heck of a job. So I prefer E-Books cos I can carry them around on my laptop, Anywhere I want. Indexing in the recent e Books is very cool and finding stuff within an eBook takes no time at all. They are free to download from the internet, and I always have my computer hooked to the internet, so if i have to search for some thing I didnt understand, I just google it. Textbooks have their own Advantage I know.. BUt I hate to read novels on the computer. Novels should be read from a paperback or a hardback, but not from a plasticback.. [bournecaindelta]
yeah, you are rite my friend that textbooks are very expensive and its all about paper costs a lot, Have Fun!!!happy [mnsrwt123]
I much prefer to read bounded books rather than e-books. I got some e-books at home but I usually convert it to .txt format and transfer download it to my phone where I read them. Textbooks or bounded books are nice to bring unlike those ebooks you'll need a pc or devices that could play them to read. And my eyes got sore when reading them on the pc screen. [xavierkyle]
yeah, ebooks really need a system to play or read them and its a bit sloppy thing about ebooks,,, Thanks for being here...happy [mnsrwt123]
I don't do either..I'm still old fashioned and will read a good book and add to my personal Library in my house..only thing I use the internet for is checking my emails,a few sites and some bill paying..not a computer geek..still learning things about it! [Rosekitty]
ohh, thats a better approach and i think i only bought a few books in my life and when i finished reading then i usually give to some other friend or student...Thanks for responding!!! Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
I have many E-books because they are not expensive at all, some of them are even free of charge. However, I still like reading text books much more. Reading in a real book seems to give me a deeper impression. And therefore until today I still buy the text books. [youless]
yup, they are non-expensive and i can say they are free of cost if you are downloading them from net,,,lol [mnsrwt123]
Although I read far more E-books nowadays,I still like to read some Text books. For e-book,just as you said,it's an easy and fast way to read something that appeal to you. However, a text book can satisfy my feeling. You know, sunny day, afternoon, sitting in a chair, reading favorate book, and emjoy a couple of tea. This is so wonderful, and for me,reading e-books could never give me this kind of feeling! [wnbwnbwnb]
ohh, thats cool that you also love reading ebooks and i truly thanks that atleast one mylotter say that he/she read ebooks lol... [mnsrwt123]
i prefer E-Books, because it is paper, and when i read it ,i can feel it exists. [bluesky007]
yeah, you can say that if you read textbooks then you can surely feel their papers,,, but they cost us more...lol [mnsrwt123]
I prefer a real book to an e-book. I just can't relax the same way sitting in front of the computer as I can with a book in my hand. However, having said that, I'm currently in China, and so I do not currently have access to any English books, so for the moment, the only option is e-books. The one advantage to e-books is that they're quick to download, and I have access to far more books that I can actually afford to buy from a bookshop. Still, I will always prefer a real book when possible. [kriszelunka]
ohh, yeah thats the whole point to stay in front of computer and continiously read the books, and textbooks are really portable and easy to read...Thanks for responding!!! Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
I prefer like read text book than E-book. If text books don't public, I'll find it on internet. Because when I read E-book, my eyes usually tired. It's very dangerous when read E-book too much time. [pooh08]
yup, i think all types of ebooks can be found on internet and dwlded freelly... Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
It depends. Both have good points and bad points. E-book is much more environmental friendly but read it when I am at the place where does not have computer as I don't have notebook. Text book is more convenient to use but you need to go out to buy it or borrow it. However, I pefer e-book as I can make note ny copy and paste but not copy by hand. [stupidforever]
yeah, ebooks are ecofriendly i agree with you... and you made this point here thanks for that... Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
It depends. if one choose must be made,I would tend to choose text book, mainly for the reason that I could make notes on it conveniently.I enjoy the feeling ,that my idea seem to integrate with the author! [moonastrid]
hmm, we can made notes here in the books which i usually do in my school days and my whole books are full of notes lol... Thanks for being here...happy [mnsrwt123]
I prefer to read Text Books. It is comfortable to read in bed. [orangewater]
yeah, its really comfortable to read it on bed,,, Thanks for being here...happy [mnsrwt123]
Without a doubt I would say ordinary traditional books. I love to read and I love my books. i ike to read in bed - text books are much better for that. I love how my books look, feel and smell. They are part of my decor. Seeing them also inspire me to read. [teison2]
ohh, most of the mylotter love to read books at bed which bothers me a lot,,, just because i have to do work on computer as my course is of computer...lol and if its about novel then maybe i have to read it on bed or somewhere else,,, Thanks for responding!!! Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
it depends. e books are helpful when i need them for reference and i am on Pc. i can carry them in pendrive. but i lov text books when i need real reading. i just can continue reading ebooks for long/ it hurts the eyes. [subha12]
hmm, its all about portablity that ebooks are really small in size and can be distributed freely, Thanks for being here...happy [mnsrwt123]
Even though there are a number of Ebooks and are more readily available than Text Books on many topics; I still prefer Text books as once can read these without spending too much time on Computer . [ptrikha1]
yup, i think all text books are now reformatted to ebooks and new books are also launched as ebooks to read it online... Thanks for responding!!! Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
i love to read textbooks as it helps you to read at ur convinient place but ebooks need to be stared at the screen of monitor or pda [rdshinde05]
ohh, yeah textbooks can be read anywhere while travel or doing anything... [mnsrwt123]
I like text book as it is easy as compared to ebooks, with ebooks we have to have laptop or desktop and constantly give trouble to eyes and it is not good for health though we can save money by reading ebooks. [smartbrain69]
yup, we used to have laptop or any pc to view ebooks, but if its just for few words then i think it doesn't harm our eyes..much... Thanks for being here...happy [mnsrwt123]
I'm not used to reading E-books, but I'm slowly getting into the groove. The advantage of reading/having an E-book is that you can search keywords easily. I use a desktop almost all the time so I'll have to sit in front of it all the time to read. It's much easier to carry books. You can read them where ever you want to. If they invent a book size laptop with a very light weight then I'll give up reading books. [Screech]
yup, thats what makes the different in reading ebooks and textbooks, that you can easily find anyword in just a second in ebooks... Have Fun!!!happy [mnsrwt123]
I understand what you are saying, but here in the states a "text book" refers more to a book you get to take a class with. We'd probably refer to them as "hard copy" "hardbacks" "paperbacks" or "real books." I don't have an e-book reader, so I guess I'm stuck with the real thing.... [ElicBxn]
But as I said, for us a textbook is what is assigned to us as our main study book in a class, like history or algabra. [ElicBxn]
I read for pleasure and don't find ebooks pleasurable at all. I use the internet for all sorts of research (and get paid for searching - see my profile if you want to know how!), but I like to be comfortable when reading. I read mostly in bed so I can get to sleep right away, but occasionally I'll sit on the couch and read, curled up with an afghan (that I made happy. I get the majority of my books from the library, so they don't cost me a thing. [Ldyjarhead]
ohh, sure i'll see your profile and findout how to get paid for searching... Thanks for sharing your wonderful thoughts... Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
Sitting at a computer doesn't feel as relaxing as sitting down to a book but I do like the new book OnDemand idea where you can order a book and have it printed right away. The only ebook I ever get is for my classes and thats only when I know my textbook is coming in late. Another thing is that I would find it hard to put all my attention on a ebook when I could be surfing the web so it works to eliminate that pressure all together and read paper--but kudos, I admire that you can do that. [revellanotvanella]
yup, i do agree with you that if we want some relax while reading then its good to read textbooks... Thanks for responding!!! Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
I prefer E-books as I can put it in my PDA and its more handy than textbooks. Searcing is also easier. There are already PDA Phones so I am hoping to have that one so that I would only have to carry one gadget. [chrysz]
ohh, thats cool stuff you made chrysz, i really appreciate your response,,, Thanks for being here...happy [mnsrwt123]
I have done both but over all I prefer the old fashioned normal books. The reasons for this are actually fairly practical. I take a regular book with me anywhere where as an E-Book I have to have it on something else. Also if the power goes out I can't read an E-Book but I can read a normal book without a problem. Now one nice thing with e-books is I don't have to hold the book, which for me is an advantage due to neck and shoulder problems. Still though if I have to choose one over the other I will go with a normal one. [emeraldisle]
yup, everything has its goods and bads, and you only consider texbooks goods and ebooks bads...lol Have Fun!!!happy [mnsrwt123]
I prefer text books, e-books are not that good for the eyes, I suppose. But if e-books can be download and then be printed out as books, then I have no probs. But that is expensive! [headhunter525]
well, its not expensive though if you only print some notes of them, and then take that notes to anywhere..else...isn't it...??? Have Fun!!!happy [mnsrwt123]
since I am on the internet almost all the time, I prefer e-books, my second book angels watching over me by carol roach is in print and e-book formatt. [winterose]
oh, thats what i do most of the time, if i switch on my computer then its really fun to read ebooks... Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
E-book is convenient, easy to collect, and they take even no space u can also find out what u want in few seconds from e-book. But, i still like text books. em, I like to touch the papers when i am reading someting, and to use a pen to write down at anytime, even then i like the smell of the printing ink And also the e-books, if reading for a long time without a break, will make my eys pain. But ,the e-book is charming when i take off my lights in the night, i can lie in my bed reading till i sleep it may be beautiful [eura00]
yup, thats all about ebooks and i think its the way we want to read and find anything from anywhere in the books... Thanks for being here...happy [mnsrwt123]
I would rather listen to a book that read one, unless I really want to take the time and absorb the writers work. Being a writer, this is probably a bad dig for those who write. I've never read an E-Book, I grew up on text books and if I want to do research I have to read a printed page. I agree with mnsrwt123 because once you download an E-Book you can search it faster that a text book but if you read the book you can discuss it better. I've spent many years in the law profession and reading something from start to finish is a requirement, if you try to skip a step it will always come back to bite you. I learned that the hard way. E-Books are good for those who can speed read, text books are the foundation for learning, the electronic age will only produce triva giants. Those who read the written word will be able to apply it better. [gitfiddleplayer]
ohh, well i think i need to do more concentrate on reading textbooks rather than ebooks...lol as most of the mylotters think that it keeps my eyes bad...lol Thanks for being here...happy [mnsrwt123]
I prefer text books, because I can always take it with me. I am not confined in our living room to read whatever I need to read. [janujennifer]
yup, textbooks we can take anywhere, but to distribute i think ebooks are best... Thanks for responding!!! Keep posting!!! [mnsrwt123]
I don't like to read E-books. I spend too much time on the computer already. When I read a book I like to lay back and relax. [ladym33]
i think if i had to read books for just relax then i need to go for textbooks rather than ebooks... Thanks for being here...happy [mnsrwt123]
Where do you get your free e-books? I have read one e-book and I prefer actual books, but I would read e-books if I knew where to download them for free, since I am more bothered about money saving than the type of book. [Elixiress]
I never thought of free download websites like rapidshare. Thanks. [Elixiress]
E-books are certainly very good ways to store your information. because you don't need very large bookshelves to store thousands of books. a small flash disk would store as many as you could store in a large library. But there is another point. when it comes to reading the book, personally I don't think ebooks are very functional. It makes your eyes tired earlier and you (personally I) can't read an e-book for hours but I can do that for a text book because it is not sending electrons into my eyes constantly. ALso, I think reading ebooks all the time is probably dangerous for your eye health. in addition to your overall health. as you already know the people who has to study with their pc all the time has some problems such as headache, backache, eye problems etc. So, while I am already doing so many things with my pc I would be happy if I wouldn't do the reading thing on my pc too. I prefer to print out the pages I would read and read them from the paper. but if it is something which won't be read for hours, than it is ok to use ebook version. [the_ruler]
yeah, thats also an importance of using E-Books and i thought its better to download ebook rather than buy if you really not need them for reading while travelling... Thanks for being here...happy [mnsrwt123]
Indeed, when I was studying, I kept waiting for someone to invent the "find" button for the textbook. rasp But if we just talk about reading, I really prefer the "real" textbooks. Just my own preference, I guess. rasp [lordwarwizard]
LOL, i also wonder if there's exist a search button in our textbooks so that we can findout what's where in that textbooks, and it makes easy for us to use ebooks for this functionallity...although if we really use this function in our real textbooks then it can be possible in movies only "harry potter " lord of rings..lol..lolrasp [mnsrwt123]
Text Books please. im considering E-books if i dont usually getting cross-eyed reading it. lol. im not good at reading small letters so text books suits me better. and i like something that i can flip back and forth, if that reason counts. hehe [puccaLOVESgaru]
yeah, i also recommend ebooks when i don't read it thoroughly and if i am at home and nevertheless if something is really interesting in Ebooks then i usually print the document which i need and then read it thorougly... Thanks for being here...happy [mnsrwt123]
Im definetelext book's fan!! I dont like ebooks, i have read only one ebook in my life, but i think that was it! no more ebooks for me!! Nothing like being in bed with a good book and a cup of coffee! [adriana979]
I prefer reading ebooks as they are easy to search and i can copy paste extracts to my projects. Also they are free and engineering books are very expensive so i mostly go for ebooks. [tarungoel11]
I prefer to use text-books because they are more economic and does not lead to as much fatigue as online books lead to. Text-books are transportable unlike online books. [excellence7]
I definitly prefer to read books offline. I like to read while I am in bed so that would be pretty difficult to do if I was reading ebooks. I also don't like looking at my computer screen that long. I wear glasses and they are progressive since I can't see far away or close up without them. So when I am reading anything on the internet I have to hold my head in an upright position to see out of the bottom part of my glasses, and my neck gets really sore after awhile. So even just reading and posting here in mylot, gives me a sore neck and sometimes gives me a headache. So I can't inagine reading a whole book online. I wouldn't be able to read very much and I would have to give it up. [chrislotz]
I do prefer ebooks, because i dont need to go to library. And the search option . by using search option of your computer u can search the exact thing u want. no need to go through all the pages. [suranjana]
I don't like read e-book, because it's on the computer, it' s not suitable, it's bad for my eyes. I like reading text books. it's fun, I don't care radiation, I can enjoy the book. [zhaosonghan]
I like not having to lug the book around, but I would rather read from a text book. [MrHappyAsthma]
I hate to read e-Books. I prefer text books over e-Books. Sitting in front of computer, for hours, scrolling pages just irritates me. It also has several disadvantages i.e it effects your eyes, results in problems related to spinal cord etc. It's easy and fun to read text books [livinghell01]
Well, I like text books more, generally.. My eyes like them better too.. (the monitor can glare too much & my eyes can be quite sensitive sometimes...) So if I really like something a lot, I print it out... (it's also easier to understand & underline..) What I like about e-books is getting knowledge over the internet instantly.. I don't want to wait for 2 weeks for a book to arrive from Amazon or such!! :) Also, many e-books are free, or very cheap/cheaper than real books... There is the Gutenberg project, where you can download many excellent old books for free!! :) Like Pride & Prejudice & other books from the same author that aren't even available where I live! So... with a better monitor/e-book reading device I might learn to love e-books more.. I like the idea, now technology needs to come to rescue of my eyes! :) e-books help save trees, though energy is required for reading, so I long for the day when all energy needed for computers etc will be renewable & environmentally friendly!! :) [LadyStrawberry]
I like most textbooks that ebooks because the textbooks you can touch it, and I think it is not as tired as through to read an ebook but the two are nice and i like it but i prefer the text books for read!! well have a nice day and hope you will have a very good week ;) see you soon and bye bye. [theembittered]
