Do You Read Comic Strips In A Newspaper Whats Your Favorite

whenever i'm looking for newspaper clippings about our agency, i would always go over the comic strips and read all of them! some of the strips i love are - calvin and hobbes, bratty little kid calvin, with his imagination bringing to life his stuff toy tiger hobbes, life in progress, about a loser boy named zeke who cant court the girl she loves because she is being courted by a monster-looking, incredible hulk-looking sasquatch, and he would just always imagine that he's a superhero battling the villains like sasquatch the monster, LOL kiko machine, the best one for me and which comic strip i collect, is about university life and student lives often exaggerated and features a lot of interesting funny characters with a usual expression of "hardcore" and "rak'en roll", pugad baboy (pig's den LOL), about a neighborhood whose residents are all super fats and the only thin people i see is a teacher in pugad baboy academy and a witty annoying maid named brosia, the characters often talk about political issues and Brenda Starr! about the smart news reporter just like lois lane but without Superman. ^__^ and a lot lot more like Ben, Hagar, Full House, The Far Side, Beetle Bailey, Toks and Moks, etc. What about you?? ^__^

Theres a free newspaper thats put on all the buses in our city called metro and they have a comic strip called nemi. I love that strip! it makes me smile every time i read it lol. I also love calvin and hobbes too, that kid is just so funny! It gives me an insight into what my daughter might be thinking too which i think is always a help lol. I dont think i read any others very often other than those two although occasionally, I come across a dilbert one and read that but i dont find it as funny as i once did. I dont know why lol [sephrenia]
LOL yeah, calvin could be anyone's kid! smart but sometimes annoying. oh, this reminds me of dennis the menace. sort of like calvin too right? ^__^;; at least what they do may seem bad to adult but not to them because of their innocence on things. ^__^ maybe dilbert darted off your taste that's why you dont find it funny anymore. i felt like that with a comic strip called.. hehe.. i forgot what its called. LOL [secretbear]

I usually just read pugad baboy...(omg the keyboard here has almost no labels on the keys)...I always enjoyed reading it because of the familiar setting (we are no small size back at home)...and we also had our own version of Igno, the exconvict (supposedly good when he came out of jail)...but I only wished we had a taliking dog...heehee [jsumbing]
i know polgas! when i said you could hire somedog like pulgoso or fifi i mean because they talk too in marimar di ba?? just like polgas talks in the strip. ^__^ [secretbear]

I love reading ANYTHING...lol I read all the comic strips I come across. But I'm not very fond of action-packed comic strips. I don't have any personal favourites. [SViswan]
LOL that's funny. usually i'd rather read the comics too than read the news. i'd rather be happy than be concerned with something serious. ^__^ [secretbear]

Everyday, at my job, someone bring a newspaper. So I try to take it and to read it. If I don't have a lot of time, I at least read the comicstrip. I don't have the same as you, but I know calvin and hobbes and wish there where in my newspaper lol I just like calvin. [beyonce03]
i think there are a lot of people who likes calvin no?? he's just funny and annoyingly smart and innocent. ^__^ [secretbear]

I'm much into local comics, like our very own "pugad baboy." I love it's theme and plot, a political sattire that somehow resembles a typical filipino life. It may be put into deeper subjects, but if you'll focus and think about it, you'll understand what it means. I like the humor, the truth behind it and the simple vulgarity behind it. One thing I also like was Xerex, I always read them everyday, especially when I want to go to the bathroom!LoL Hahaha! [raijin]
ay sister! ano bah! haha! [jdpartosa]

While reading newspaper I never have the extra time to read those comic especially those with lots of captions. I always spend my leisure time to read those important current affairs or the amusement column. [lkbooi]
oh, you dont go over all the pages of the newspapers?? i do that, not because i want to but because its part of my job. ^__^;; but i thank God i have to coz i find a lot of interesting stuff inside the newspaper. ^__^ [secretbear]

hello secretbear my favorite comics in the newspaper is Nancy lol when i was younger, i used to scrapbook alot and i would always cut out the Nancy comic strips everyweek out of the Sunday newspaper...and i would put them in my scrapbook...i do not scrapbook anymore nor do i save the Nancy comic strips, but i have saved alot of the older ones of them. have a wonderful day! [RLFinNash]
lol too funny, i have no idea...hagd. [RLFinNash]

hi, secretbear.. nice to meet you.. yup.. i will read comic strips in a newspaper.. when me read newspaper sure willgo find comic strips to read .. it is so nice.. [Hawaiiblue]
yup. its fun to read comic strips. ^__^ [secretbear]

yes i read comic strips in newspapers but what i really hate about them is that they are only strips and only mention a chunk of the big story. thats why i ahte it. i love to read all of them although they areshort sometimes i understand what the comic strip is saying sometimes i dont because of the very little information. sometimes they are good and sometimes they are corny but i do read the comics in the newspaper. [joshboz]
of course sometimes it would be corny for the author runs out of ideas too sometimes. that's for sure. ^__^ [secretbear]

I love every kind of comics and strips aren't excetion. I read the newspapers as possible as I can and strips are the fun part of a serious reading. Benett and Romolps & Catchup are those who I read in JL a newspapers from Brazil [doijunior]
yeah. there should be a comic relief after moments of serious reading. ^__^ that sounds like a cute strips. have you noticed that almost all comic strips are named after the main characters? ^__^ [secretbear]

I am not especially fond of reading comics now...however, I enjoy the comic strip supplement of the Phil. Star every Sunday...there's Archie and Verononica, which is my favorite ever since I was a young girl...and the rest like kid calvin, Beetle Bailey, Popeye, etc. When I was young, I used to read tagalog komiks...this could be the reason why I can speak and understand Tagalog better than children these days...my children never read those stuff I used to read when I was young...well, the good old days.... [psyche49f]
i read some of the strips too at phil. star. i like calvin, hagar the horrible, beerkada, and the far side. ^__^ i used to read comics too when i was young! during the times when komiks was still in hype. they are trying to revive it thru carlo j. caparas. i dont know if it will able to come back in the circulation. [secretbear]

I used to, when I lived with my parents and they got the paper. But it's been years since we got the paper. I usually read Garfield and peanuts and Cathy and Blondie...and uh... I think there were a few more. Once in a while I look them up online, like Garfield, because I was always a huge garfield fan! [raychill]
*nod nod* garfield is really funny and john and odie! it'd be interesting to have a lazy and sarcastic cat like garfield. LOL [secretbear]

It is one of my daily routines to read newspaper after breakfast. If I have lots of work to deal with on a particular day I then read it during breakfast. I first come to the tops news and follow by the current importance affairs. Lastly I enjoy reading my favorite articles like events which are related to amusement, sports and tourism. It normally takes about 30 minutes for me to read the daily newspaper but it is worthy as I always could learn a lot by doing so. [lkbooi]
Please ignore the above, I had send it to the wrong place. sorry, my friend,Thank you. [lkbooi]

I love comic strips, it's the only part of the newspaper I read, mostly. I love Garfield the most. I read some others and they seem to be funny too. [loolets]
hmm.. looks like a lot of people adore garfield. ^__^ [secretbear]

i like mandrake the magician and henry [nazeela]
hmmm. i havent read about those comic strips.. i guess its not available here.. ^__^ [secretbear]

It's funny, now that you mention it I realize I haven't been reading the comics for awhile now. I don't know why. I think I'm just too involved in my computer! I always liked For Better or Worse, which is kind of a continuing story about a family. The kids grow and have their own kids, so they all have their own little foibles and happenings. It's cute. I also like Cathy. [cremechese51]

Hello! I love reading comic strips! I have no specific favourite, as I like reading all of them, I do read every comic strips that I come across with in any newspaper. Actually before reading the newspaper i'll skip other pages and jump to the comic strips page *wehehe*. I like garfield, his laziness and his food addiction, I do like fred too and I do miss our very own pugad baboy! *hihihi* some comic strips I don't know the names or i've forgotten about it, but I love reading them that's all. *smile* ciao! c",) [fab315]

i love the lockhorns it is always funny my parents liked them when i was growing up i guess i was born to like that it is never the same. [superwoman0709]

I don't get a regular hold of newspapers these days but I loved to read comic strips when I was younger..it'd be the first section I'd flip into in a newspaper. I loved Nancy, Blondie, Beetle Bailey and Brenda Starr...however I prefer to read Calvin & Hobbes and Peanuts in book forms since I could get a really good laugh out of reading the strips continuously. Comic strips are definitely goo dthings to lighten up the day. [kuirqs]

I have to say that my all time fav comic has to be "Pondus" You just can't beat it. [Bardock]

I like reading comic strips in a newspaper. Actually, when there is a newspaper around, the first section that I look at is the comics. I read different comic strips. [MariaD]

When I do get a chance to see the comic strips my favorite is Garfield. My granddaughter seems to like it too. [isaiah12]

well in my local newspaper. i used to strip those comic strips. well actually i know you will not be familiar with these comic strips i read here so i will not mention them. i like to read those cominc strips especially when i was younger when i was not really interested in the content of the newspaper about the current news. so i just look for those comic strips and try to read those. but theres only small portion in the newspaper of comic strips so i reall felt bad back then for not having to read a lot more. but i wll have to wait for the next day for the continuation of the story. that is what i hate about it. there is not end in the story. you have to follow it or read the continuation on the following day. i think thats the newspapers strategy for people to buy the newspaper again and to conitnually patronize the newspaper. i thnk those newspaper earn bu those stories. it helped them boost their sales. so i think its really good fro their business. even the adults love it. not only the young ones. well as of now. i dont read anymore. i am more interesting on the real news and the some celebrity news. well i love the news. i really want to be up to date to the latest happenings and news in my country. i love reading about the politics ad economic news. i want to be updated. i am a concerned citizen. it really gets my interest to read those stories now. i dont read a lot about those comic strips. though sometimes it ry to see if i would like the stories. well now i find them boring. so i think maybe someday i will enjoy it again. but now i just enjoy news. and some celebrity gossips.. [bluewaves]

yes i do read some of the comic strips on newspapers. our office has a complete subscription of newpapers and tabliods of all sorts and my favorite read of course is the entertainment columns. i like garfield, and ben hagar most. [kuting]

i love strips from PEANUTS. very nice stupid and pick-up lines! hehehe! i remember this one line it should have been written as "very specific" one of the character said "very pacific" instead. hehehe! [jdpartosa]

Calvin and Hobbes has been a favorite of mine for years! I also loved Bloom County when it was still running. Right now my favorite cartoon is Baby Blues. It makes me laugh because the things that happen could easily be happening at my house on any given day. [loved1]

Ha ha. I haven't read Calvin and Hobbs in a long time. I don't think it runs in the paper I read. I used to love it though. I read the Peanuts, Garfield, Hagar the Horrible (I think...or is it Terrible?) I like Blondie, Beetle Bailey, and The Lockhorns. We have one that runs in the paper by a locla comic and it's hilarious. It's called 'Belvedere' and it's about this sassy, jokester of a dog who's always into trouble. Nothing beats a good comic.:) [Flight84]

I used to really like to read the comics when I subscribed to our daily newspaper, secretbear. Now that I no longer do, I have a couple of them delivered in my e-mail inbox every day. I am currently receiving Garfield(which I love), and Family Circus. I used to get more but had to cut down on some of the mail. [worldwise1]

I always read For Better or For Worse and Funky Winkerbean online everyday. But on Sunday mornings-I read all the funnies before anything else. Might as well start the day off laughing, eh? [bbsbeesknees]

I read it when i was kid,now i like to watch cartoon on tv and in web.^_^ [sheerjane]

lol, we have the Hägar cartoons too in our newspaper and I always read that one. [book1962]

I like reading calvin and hobbes too. I miss Beerkada... I used to clip sunday Star comics because of calvin and hobbes and one other comic strip, i forgot what it is. haha. But nowadays i don't get to read much of any newspaper so i guess i'm not a fan of any new comicstrips. [owstalaga]

With all the shocking news one reads in the daily paper, I have to say I always look forward to getting to the comic section! I like Calvin as well, and some others in the paper are Zits, For better or worse,Hagar the Horrible, The Phantom, Broomhilda, Wizard of Id. Makes for easy reading after all the doom and gloom! [muscare]

I like to read comics in newspaper. But i like my country's comic.Sorry because we are not same country, maybe we can love same comics. [hassanah]

I used to love Fred Bassett, but I can't for the life of me remember what paper he appeared in. He was a lovable bassett dog and it always made me smile reading his adventures. I also like the Perishers and Snoopy! I don't tend to read papers now so I don't see the comic strips nowadays so I wouldn't recognize any of them now. [wolfie34]

Oh yes! I love my comics and they are an integral part of my early morning newspaper-reading ritual. I used to love Modesty Blaise and The Phantom a lot buy my newspaper has discontinued both of these. Now I like Peanuts, The Wizard of Id, B.C., Luann, Hagar the Horrible, The Dagwoods, Garfield and my best: Denis The Menace. They all have been part of my growing up and my morning is just not the same as them. [sudiptacallingu]

I don't read newspapers so I hardly see comic strips. [stvasile]

I used to read comics, but as the way we recieve news have changed and i cannot remember last time i bought a paper. But maybe this is a good idea for the 9 o'clock news, lol. Actually i think it would be nice to have one comic storry finishing nes of, as it is quiet depressing as it is now. The could have a daily George Bush blopper :) I used to love strips with Garfield, Charley Brown and Haggar the Horrible. [kimthedane]

Wow it's nice to know there are Pugad Baboy fans here. I love Pugad Baboy since it started. I collect the comic books. I love all characters, but my favorite would be Brosia. She likes to make fun of Dagul. Hahaha. Also, the "war" between Barbie and Tomas. Other comic strips I read: Garfield, Far Side, Hagar, and Beerkada - also local. [overdosed]

The Far Side was great, but that one is no longer being ran here. Peanuts I still love, Garfield makes me laugh and the creator of Mutts does community service ads by drawing cartoon drawings of actual animals in shelters with stories about them. I also like reading Cathy as well. [Sacrificialclam]

I sometimes read comic strip. I like Beetle Bailey, and blondie. I don't have enough time lately to read them however. [venshida]

I don't read all of the comics, but I always take a look at Family Circus and Blondie. Who can resist the charm of the infamous Dagwood? I love the Family Circus as they seem to always be so close to many of the things that my own kids have said or done. [carolscash]

well, I love to read comic strips only which interest me. It is Pugad baboy and Hagar. Pugad Baboy is sometimes political satire, funny and daily livings. While Hagar is more on barbaric with touch of modern tech and this make it funny too. [fairlady56]

I like to read the comics in the newspaper I find it amusing. I like the calivn and hobbes comics. Its funny when Calvin's dad tells Calvins lies about how things work. In one comic strip Calvin's dad says electricity works by magic. [spiderlizard22]

I'm twenty-two and I still read daily comic strips. I don't really read them in newspapers all that much anymore though. These days, I read them online. It makes it a lot easier and no purchase is necessary if you can't happen to find a free newspaper. My favorite comic strips are Garfield (my favorite), B.C., Dilbert, Wizard of Id, and Pearls Before Swine. I love Hagar and Beetle Bailey too. [DarthJustice]

Hello my friend secretbear Ji, I too go through all details/news/gossips/cartoon in my news paper, but off-course, I do not make any cutting or preserving them as a a hobby. Some time back I used to keep tips about health only. have a nice time. [chintoo07]
