I have to wear glasses or contacts all the time. That is just to see. So yep, that means reading too.I prefer contacts. After a while glasses slip when I am at a comfy angle in bed reading. [ersmommy1]

Hello shiloh_222, I am wearing eyeglasses and I do used it in reading. Lately, I just discover I could read without using my eyeglasses. It turns out, I need a progressive eyeglasses. These means I have to used different lenses for near and far seeing. It's a bit of a problem because my progressive eyeglasses is damage and I have to used my non-progressive eyeglasses and I have to remove it when I read and used it when I look far. Progressive eyeglasses is pricey and I am still saving some money to buy another one. Have a good reading. ninjaninjaninja [robert19ph]

I am nearsighted but recently it turns out I am going to be farsighted too so if the print is small I have to take my glasses off. If its large print I am okay but seeing that I will probably be laying on the bed reading I usually take them off so when I fall asleep reading I don't bend my glasses LOL. [rae777]

hi, I think it is advisable to wear eyglasses on when reading a book if you were far-sighted. For sure you will find it really difficult to read a book, a magazine, or any reading journals if you didn't have your glasses on. For me it's different. I'm so near-sighted that wearing eyeglasses on when reading a book just gives me a headache. But maybe it's just me... But this is what I think anyway...... [Spicygirl]

Yes it is very sad. My eyes over the past year have gotten bad. I never had to wear glasses at all. Now I have 5 pairs around the house so I can read even the slightest thing. [badkat83]

I have been wearing glasses since I was ten years old and I have bifocals for reading now because of the cataract surgeries I have had. Can't do contacts because my eyes are too sensitive. [change1life]

i have to "to see". l0l. some people are so vain about wearing glasses but i'm just thankful for mine. i see people taking them off , putting then on a dozen or more times while u are around them. i think that is so silly. put them on your face & wear them that's what they are for. i even see them doing it while they are grocery shopping etv. vain, vain, vain. I wear prescripted eyeglasses all the time as well as contact lenses. I depend upon them because I am nearsighted in my right eye and astigmatism in my left. [Peppersquirrel]

Hello shiloh, I really should have been wearing glasses from the age of 12. However, I am glad that I never stuck to wearing them, as frankly I do not believe in wearing glasses. I have noticed how the relative strength of vision has varied between my left and right eye for years, with one eye seeing log and the other seeing short. I believe that wearing glasses only leads to you having to stick with them, or worse still having to wear stronger glasses later. Regards Umart [umart13]

I have astigmatism, and the minute I take my glasses off then everything is a blur. I actually have two pairs of glasses: A pair and a spare. That way if something happens to one pair, I can still use my other pair. Without my glasses I get roaring headaches within minutes. [nonew3]

Hi shiloh_222. I wear corrective eye lenses when I read. I have worn glasses since my first day of first grade. They are a way of life for me. Even so, I usually wear contact lensbut I still need to add a pair of those little reader glasses, when I need to read. When I don't have my contact lenses on, I wear "regular" eyeglasses. hi shiloh! happy before, i don't wear eyeglasses when i'm reading. but recently, i saw a medical ad that says you can take care of your eyes by wearing reading glasses when reading or staring at the computer too long. so even if i have a 20/20 vision, i would wear a reading glasses from now on if i'm reading a book or if i'm internet surfing. i also have experienced dry eyes, itchy eyes before because of too much reading and internet surfing so i want to be careful from now on. i love my eyes so i would prefer to look dorky than strain my eyes. wink [secretbear]
