I wear glasses only when I am trying to read something, I know when you get i your 40's that is when you need them if you have had good eye sight, till that age, some people half to werar them for the rest of their life. I have even seen children thats about 5 yrs. old wear them. well I had to get my eyes checked Aug, 31St. then I will get me some real glasses, not those dollar glasses that you get a the dollar store, because they will mess you eyes up. Ok, have a good day!

I've had glasses since I was about 9 years old. I was only supposed to wear them when I needed to see far away. Watch tv, Read the board at school...etc. But as a 9 year old kid that was too much effort and I just wore the glasses all the time. I'm 25 now and my eyesight is pretty horrendous. I wear contacts now though. But if I take my contacts out and rock the glasses style, the only time I take my glasses of is when I read. [raychill]
That's weird Oreocookie3. I never heard of that before, your eye sight being from a C-Section. I was not a C-Section, natural birth. But I get my eyesight from my father. He got Lasik just recently though... but he'd worn glasses from the time he was 13 until he got Lasik in his 50's. So I got glasses even younger than him... and my eyes just keep getting worse. I have a slight astigmatism myself. [raychill]

I have always made sure I have regular eye checks and until now there have been no problems but I'll be 40 soon and am very worried that I'll have to wear glasses, more especially as I have diabetes and most diabetics have eye problems at some stage! [anonymili]

Yeah...me too. but not for focal glasses only for transition glasses. After had my eye tests with optometrist for my eye lens's focusing, nothing to do with my lens focusing but my eye glare. but I don't like wearing spectacles, have to at day time. [michaeldadona]

I've been wearing them since I was about 14 or 15. Then, when I was 18, I got contact lenses and wore those until last year. They just bothered my eyes too much. With my other health conditions, I had more problems seeing out of them and now need to wear semi-hard lenses for astigmatism. So, I started wearing my glasses again and I'm fine with them right now. I try to get an updated style so I don't look dorky. I've seen babies and toddlers wearing glasses, which looked weird to me, but I guess it was for a special problem. [desertdarlene]

I Wear glasses since I was only 17 years old and I always advice to people that you should wear good glasses after geting your checked with good doctor and if you wear gogles then also you should taken care of this in your mind that quality should be good. [coolcrux1]

I only wear reading glasses myself. [tallpaulno44a]
Ok, well your eyes are not that bad! [marciascott]

I've worn glasses for about ten years, but only for close work, such as reading and computer work. They're not very strong, in fact one lens is plain, the other just slightly magnified. Thank goodness, my eyes are quite strong and I only wear them when I have to. Brightest Blessings. [Darkwing]

I've known ppl who've worn glasses since very young ages but I've also known ppl well into their 50s who DON'T need them yet...I got my first pair about 18 months ago and though I look fabulous in them (LOL) I dont wear them like I should....I'm trying to break that habit though :-/ [Ravenladyj]
I guess you don't care much for glasses, It makes some people look, good and some people look bad, all depends on the frame, if you have ugly Frames I don't blame ou for not wanting to wear them. but i know you don't have ugly frames. LOL. [marciascott]

i wear glasses and i am waiting on my new persciption to be filled...woo hoo, these new glasses are the coolest. they have very cool frames out there now...no longer do you have to look geeky in glasses...they are a fashion accesory! :-) my daughter got her glasses when she turned 9 [cher913]
yeah the frames are what count, if i get a good pair of glasses I want the frames to look nice. I will pay good money for nice frames. They half to look good on me. [marciascott]

I've had glasses since the 4th grade. I had a teenage growth spirt and suddenly I couldn't see anything. Distance was the problem. I started wearing close-up vision glasses for reading at 45. But my eyes have changed again and I don't really need close up unless I read a book for over an hour. Take care [writersedge]

I was cross-eyed and had astigmatism and until I was fourteen and had an operation to straighten my lazy eye, I had to wear glasses. They were very plain looking and the only fancy ones were these ones with flowers on the rim. They did look awful, but at least they were not boring. Now, I use reading glasses if the light is not good enough and the print too small. Like I can read what I am writing now without glasses, but if I were to read the instructions on the back of a Vitamin or a Tylanol bottle, I would need my glasses. Sometimes my eyes can see clear as a bell and at other times, it is fuzzy until I blink and it is back to normal, but that seldom happens. [suspenseful]

When I was a child, I had to wear glasses regularly. I have no idea for the reason. Now, I just wear them for reading and computer work. I have a really nice pair of glasses. They are a dark wire frame. I really enjoy how they look and work. They also have bifocals for close up work. [sherrir101]
that is excellent I am glad you like them, I half to get me some glasses that I will like I just won't wear any kind, they half to look good on me. [marciascott]

I wear glasses. I have been wearing them since the age of two years old. I have severe myopia. I do not wear them when I take pictures though. I hate glasses. [Rozie37]

for me is at past tense... I mean I was wearing glasses when I was a kid... now I don't have to wear:D [Dan_ul]
no way... cos I'm going to eat a lot of carrots:D [Dan_ul]

I use to have perfect vision before I became a secretary years ago and was on the computer most of the day and I now were glasses and contacts! They are a pain!!! [kimlot]

I have worn glasses since I was 2 yrs. old. I hated them, I even buried them in the back yard. I used to hide them all the time. Once I was grown I got contact lenses, I still wear contacts and glasses. I am now in my 40's I have noticed my eyes changing, I have the long arm thing going on, hehe. I need to get my eyes checked too, I need new glasses and contacts. I don't hate my glasses anymore, darn, I guess that means I have grown up. [Polly1]
I guess you are about right Vicky, when we start aging, getting in our 40ties this will happen! hav ea good day! [marciascott]

I have worn glasses for about 15 years. I'm very near sighted. I have started realizing that I will probably need bifocals soon because I can actually see books better without my glasses on. That's kind of depressing, but at least they make the no-line bifocals now! My son is 5 and I had his eyes checked about a month ago to make sure he was seeing well before he started school. He did not need glasses yet, but the doctor agreed with me that with both me and my husband wearing glasses for nearsightedness, he will most likely need them eventually, so it's best to stay on top of it. My mother loves to wear the dollar store readers, and specifically from the dollar tree so she can buy (and lose) a bunch of them without a huge expenditure. Good luck with your eye exam! [tentwo67]

I have been wearing eye glasses since I was in 4th grade. When I was in my twenties and early thirties I wore contacts. After awhile, I started having problems wearing contacts, so I've stayed with glasses. The last time I was at the eye doctors, I was told my eye sight had actually improved! That's why I needed bifocals. I didn't get them because I still do a lot of driving, so I take my glasses off to read. Just the opposite of you! [mizrae]

I have been wearing glasses since I 12 or 13. Now I have contacts, but without wearing either of them I can see anything clear. [nmw2005]

As you can see in my picture I wear glasses. I have been wearing them since I was 9 yrs. old [gberlin]

I do wear eyeglasses (125/150) because the world, as I see it, would be uncomfortably blurry without one. I have been wearing it for nearly five years now; was still in high school when I first wore one. I am still hoping that my eyesight can still be corrected but perhaps the only choice left is lasik / laser treatment. [soulsister_16]

I wear glasses. I was fine till the day I turned 40 I woke up and went to get my breakfast and sit and read my news paper and I couldn't see the print. Thank God it was pay day and I could get into the eye doctors office that morning. I had to get glasses that very day. What a rude awakening turn 40 and lose my eye sight.....LOL. I have seen people as young as 5 wearing them too. Some people are blessed with great eye site and some of us are not. Oh well when your turning old you start falling apart....LOL. [bwrattybaby]

I have worn glasses since I was 7 years old. I still remember my first pair.. they were white with glitters in them.. really beautiful at the time... lol. I now wear the kind with the no line bifocals. I never want to get the kind with the line.. I am afraid I would fall over my feet! I have heard lots of stories about how people would fall with their lined bifocals. I agree with you that dollar store glasses can mess you up. They give me eye strain. [OreoCookie3]

I've worn glasses since 8th grade. I hate them but it's nice to be able to see so what're you gonna do? I'm going to get contacts soon though. [crazed_moma]

I do. I remember when I first got them - it was as a result of an eye test at school - do they still hearing and vision and scoliosis tests at school? They even used to give vaccinations at school. I remember when I first got my glasses, I was like oh this is what the world is supposed to look like! I've worn contacts but my eyes don't like them. I'd get them corrected but I have exotrophia (phonetic spelling) and the laser treatment would be dangerous. Glasses are almost a part of my personality now. Artsy. [artemis432]

I have worn glasses since i was 3 years old. I have no depth perception, I have tunnel vision in my right eye and was crossed eyed before surgery. Now i am older i find my eyes are getting worse but there is nothing to be done about it. The eye Dr says no more surgery will help and eventually i will be blind in the right eye. I don't even notice my glasses i have had them so long only when its hot out and the noses pieces sometimes hurt. [kakuemmom]

I used to wear glasses because I had myopia. Then I switched to wearing contact lenses but I didn't like them because I had to use eye drops all the time especially at the end of the day. My eyes get dry. So I decided to do lasik surgery. I am happy that it worked. In the beginning just after the surgery my eyes got really dry and I was not seeing well because of that. I thought I would never get my eyes normal again, it was worse than before the surgery. Now everything is fine and I am not wearing glasses. Have a good day marciascott and take care! [VotreAmie]

I have been wearing glasses since I was 8 or 9, which has been about 20 years ago. [simpson5]

I have had glasses since middle school but that is because I am near sighted, so I need them to see things at a distance. I can read books and the fine print on things fine without them. [bumbleskull]

I have prescription glasses that I need to wear when I am reading or doing work that is up close. I often wear them when I am holding my grandbabies close to me. Otherwise hey are blurry! I do have a couple of pair of cheaters that I take with me so I don't lose the expensive ones. I keep them home. [ElusiveButterfly]

When I was in primary school,Grade 6,I began to wear glasses. At that time there were few primary school students wear glasses. However, after I entered into middle school,I found that the students with glasses were more than before. And in high school, the students who didn't wear glasses were minority. Except sleeping and bathing,I always wear glasses. It has become part of my body. [shinjiao]
Ok, It sounds like it is part of you.Do you have nice frames. [marciascott]

I started wearing eyeglasses in my mid-forties. It is true that our senses, eyesight is the first one, start to wane as we age. I can no longer walk around without my glasses. [funny52f]
Look at some people that have been wearing glasses since they were a child. you eyesight must not be to bad. [marciascott]

I do wear glasses when I want to read a smaller letter text. It is 0.5 power glass. When I am outside home and when I am at computer, I do not require glass. AFter 40 it is said one should get one's eyes examined and in all probability most of them require spectacles I suppose. Have a nice day. [ssh123]
My grand parents used to tell me that one should eat carrot (raw) and drink carrot juice everyday and it improves the eye sight. Also read Robert Bateman's book on Eye sight and exercises for eyes. (it is a small book, you can read it in one day). Also keep looking at greenery as much time as possible during day time. [ssh123]

I've worn glasses since I was in the 4th grade.I've never enjoyed wearing them.I've had contacts too. It's always best to see your eye doctor than to try and anything over the counter. [eachen2002]

I cant be without my glasses. I have short sight for almost 8 years now. Iam wearing glasses for the past eight years now. I have planned to do lasic treatment soon as i feel uncomfortable wearing glasses. I have very high power of -4. So i cant see anything clearly without glasses. [shriram84]

I have been wearing glasses since I was in elementary school. I really do not mind it, I have just learned to live with it. [rogue13xmen13]

I wear glasses and I cannot go without them. When I was 14 I was suppose to wear glasses, but I thought I was too cute to put them on, so now at 27 my vision is horrible. I wish I would have listened to my parents. I think I'm going to get the LASIK surgery since its free for active duty members....I'm just too scared. [ebusaf]

I don't wear glasses yet but know that I will have to wear glasses in the future because the last time I had my eyes checked I found out that my eyesight is getting bad just not bad enough to have to wear glasses yet . I am unable to read the small print on medication Bottles and always have to get my husband to read it for me when I have to give tylenol to one of the childen when they are sick . I was sure they were going to give me reading glasses when I had my eyes checked but was told the print is so small on these bottles and that wearing glasses this soon would only be worse later on . Not really sure why as I really can't see anything it says now but I am not looking forward to when I have to wear glasses so I am not going to complain to much . I don't like the way glasses look on me and won't feel comfortable when I have to wear them to read . [samtaylorskykierajen]

I wear glasses since I was in the 5th grade. now that I am in my 40`s I wear no line bifocals and I don`t like looking through bifocals. sometimes it looks blurry. i just had my eyes examined and new glasses about a month ago. [sandie61]

I'm supposed to wear glasses for reading, TV and computer, actually i should be wearing them right now. I have needed them since i was 9. I have always wondered why our eyes get worse after 40, does anybody know? [nikkiwith]

i donot wear glasses as my eyesight is good but i wear sunglasses while going out. [shv12jar]
That is fine I like Sunglasses too, It makes you look sporty! Welcome to Mylot! [marciascott]

Actually I don't wear glasses but both my parents need it later in life so I suspect when I get older that I too will also need to get a pair or at least go get checked up for some. I would rather not have to worry about it and if I could I would probably try that laser correction, I would be a bit scared to though. [bluemoi]
If nothing is wrong with your eyes, don't worry about it. [marciascott]

I have been wearing glasses for the last 15 years. The first couple years i was suppose to wear them, i only wore them when i needed to see the chalkboard in class, but by high school i had to wear them all the time. I wear contacts like once in a blue moon, but they are uncomfortable. Everytime I go to the eye doctor they claim my eyesight is getting better each time, but i still must wear glasses. Do your eyes get better to the point where you don't have to wear glasses anymore? [ranitam22]

I started to wear glasses when I was around nine, but stopped wearing them because people would use this an excuse to bully and laugh at me. Mainly I became self conscious and scared, and stopped wearing them because I did not want my peers to laugh at me. That, and my friend think I look weird in them. Now I only have to wear them when I drive. My right eye is bad, but my left eye is healthy and normal. [GlitterExplosion]

I love to wear glasse...but i am not having any problem with my eyes..but i have been thinking of buying a powerless glass...moreover i love sun glasses and i own one...its really cool... [dillidoil]
I like Sun glasses too! [marciascott]

I don't wear glasses at all. Don't need them, and the doc says I won't need them for quite a long time (naturally speaking). As of 2006 my vision is 20/10 (6/3 metric). I need to go in for another check cause its actually been slowly improving since age 12. Reading 7 or 6 point font on screen or paper isn't a chore for me. Sometimes I save a tree and just print 2 or 4 pages per sheet (did that in college all the time). Its also nice when driving and keeping track of exit signs. [theprogamer]

I do , I Do , I do , I Do ,I do , I Do ,I do , I Do ,I do , I Do ,I do , I Do ,I do , I Do ,I do , I Do ,I do , I Do ,I do , I Do ,I do , I Do ,I do , I Do ,I do , I Do ,I do , I Do ,I do , I Do , & that since last Five years whoh ? [my1stforum]
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah, That was so funny, I had to give youa best response, have a nice day,! That was really cute! Welcome to Mylot! [marciascott]

I started with wearing Glasses a long time back . But now I have switched to Contact Lenses. [icon_001]
Contacts make anybody look better, although some nice frames look good on a person too! [marciascott]

I wear glasses, but only when I want to see LOL [dumblnddzzy]
Hahahahahahahah that is funny!!! [marciascott]

I have worn glasses since I was 10 or 11 years old and always hated them. When I finally got contact lenses I was in heaven. What a difference. Now, however, I wear glasses again because I don't worry quite as much about how I look, and because they make regular glasses better than they used to. When I was a teenager, though, I got very low self-esteem from having to wear thick glasses. [drannhh]

Yea, i wear glasses too. I wear it since i was very very young. When i was six or seven year old. As years past, my eyes degree increases. ... http://imcontent.blogspot.com/ http://cool2share.blogspot.com/ http://health-fitness-corner.blogspot.com/ http://self-improvement-talk.blogspot.com/ [jianhong]
You have been wearing them for a long time! [marciascott]

I have pretty much had the same prescription for over 25 years now. I use one contact, it is for distance, as of this time, I don't need glasses for reading but I hav ento had an eye exam in going on 3 years now. [Debs_place]

I had to get glasses when I was in college. I was getting headaches all the time. I found out I had astigmatism. The glasses helped with the headaches immediately. I've gone through a series of prescription changes, to bifocals, then no line lenses. I've worn contacts for the past 20 years or so, and now wear contacts I can leave in all the time. I only have to change to new ones once a month. It is nice not to have to worry about glasses fogging up, or getting wet when it is raining. And there is no vision change at the sides. I can see all the time. I really like them. [DanaMark]

I wear two types. One for reading and the other for distant and near vision combined .It is a verifocal. It is a miserable experience misplacing them and searching them art the crucial times. [balasri]

I used glasses when I was 7 and I have been using it for 19 years and counting! I tried to wear contact lenses before but I can't stand for that feeling when something has to be put into my eyes! So I will stick by glasses! [sariayu]

I started wearing glasses in kindergarten, probably needed them before that, but that is when I started walking into walls enough that my folks thought there might be a problem, haha. when I turned 40 I started having a lot of trouble seeing written words so made myself an eye appt. thinking my prescription must have changed, it did not - however I developed the need for bifocals. [Modestah]

i used to have 2 eyeglasses. out for going out and one for home use. the problem was that when im pretty tired, i often wear them both... i have been using glasses for so long that i could barely notice i have it on...LOL..i always guffaw when i caught myself wearing too... since then, i just have one glasses at a time... [shiloh_222]
I will be getting some new glasses in a couple of weeks. I can't wait. I need them badly. [marciascott]

I am near-sighted so that I have to wear glasses when it is necessary. I usually wear glasses when I watch TV. Without glasses, I will feel frustrated to watch TV. [youless]

I don't wear glasses for eye correction or vision enhancement. i only wear sun glasses to protect my eyes from too much light or heat of the sun and air pollution. I am lucky to still have a very clear vision and it is still very much accurate. [izathewzia]

lucky for me, my eyes are still fixed and working fine! no glasses for me yet! but maybe soon, coz of too much time spent in front of my pc.. like now.. hehe [jedhimura]

I wear glasses because I just can't see without my glasses. I just wish that my eyes were good and I don't have to wear glasses anymore. It just too hard for me to wear glasses. It will be so hard when I want to play games such as softball etc. [m_5ugar]

I worn glasses almost 7 years ago. I'm having 2 spec with me rite now, one is a new frame and come with an old glasses and another is an old frame come with new glasses. This happen because I'm not comfortable with the new spec while the old frames spec made me feel better and look better. I'm wearing both of it, it just depends on the situation. Most of my friends were in glasses, previously my auntie was viewing my photo through my friendster and asking me 'why so many your friends all were in glasses, only few of them were in good eye sight'. I just had a look on it, it was my friends birthday pictures, almost 15 people were in the picture included me and only 4 of them is without glasses. I'm wondering until that moment only I know that everyone around is having eye sight problems caused 3 of them is wearing lense out of the 4 person which my auntie consider as having good eye sight... A nice frame will made a person look much more better and more confidence toward them self. My spec do so... I will spend for a nicer frame which suit to me and made me feel much more comfortable when I'm wearing and my reappearance as well... I don't really care my appearance as much, but seen spec due to be with me all the time, of course I want it to be part of my body which can bring me more confidence and look much more better... don't you? [silencewords]

me? I tend to only wear my glasses when I want to see something. hehe, even my dreams apparently as I do not bother to take them off when sleeping - this way if I wake up in a start I will not fumble to find them. it has happened in the past that I can not relocate my glasses right in front of me, or I will drop them to the floor and fear stepping on them in my blindness.......ahhhhhhhh. I have been wearing glasses since age 5 but probably could have stood to get them sooner. [Modestah]
