Ok, if you are student, you might pay your visit to your school or local library more often? Do you ever find library is a fun place to visit? I doubt that many people would say so. Actually, sometimes, I quite enjoy spending time in library, even though I am not in school anymore. I could find many free reading resources, such as magazines, and newspapers that I don't subscribe for. I can also enjoy finding my favorite authors' best selling books for free. How about you, do you enjoy to be in library? Or you can't barely stand going in there, because reading is not your thing to consider?

Since the start of the internet, I have not visited the library often to make a research on a particular topic. Why would I do so, when I just click my mouse and can access hundreds of information about a certain topic that i am interested in. I just visited the library may be twice this year and just sit there with my laptop. I am not much interested on the books in our library. Most of them are already obsolete. I enjoy online research more. [learn2earn]
You got your point here. But don't forget, some of those old books have its value too, that is why library is there for. I know that Internet replace everything we can physical access to, but library is still the great source for us to visit. [clorissa123]
In high school, I used to go to the library since they have wonderful books back in our library. In college, I rarely go to our library. I usually went there only to have emergency researches. I hate going to our library because it is situated in the last floor. And the stairs going there is very steep. [radiance27]
So, because the location of the library prohibit you to access to the library is the main reason you no longer to go there any more? If I am interest in going there, and make my research, I won't mind at all. But I understand your reason, not convenient. [clorissa123]
While I was still in school, I loved going to the library. I would sometimes spend my time just hanging out there looking for nice books to read. I usually look for old/classic literature books. These days though, I don't go to the library any more. I just do most of my reading at home or online. I've never been to my city's public library before, and I think it's mostly equipped for those still in school. [mymelodake]
I like library, what is the problem with it? It has all the things we want. The books, CDs, DVDs, and etc...... We can learn from library, and we have access to the internet on library. It is a great place to be. [clorissa123]
i go to the library once every month to take some interesting books, i think i'll go next week, to take some books about DIY. I've can go to others library too beacause every library here has a permission, i mean that if you want to take books from a library you need this permission, and every library has a different one. [codris]
I used to visit the library a lot since I love to read. But now that I am getting busy with life and work, I have not visited any library ever since. Usually, I just go online and search for something I want to know or want to study. The technology has surely change the way we do things.happy [jpso138]
I'm not a student and I love the library! I can read fiction books for free that I would otherwise either have to pay for or download illegally. And I prefer to read an actual book when reading fiction anyway because it's easier on the eyes. I don't like staring at the computer screen for hours. But like others have mentioned, it is easier to research stuff online, so I only use the library for fiction books. Where I live teenagers or young students in college don't really go to the library. Most think reading is not cool so they don't do it. If you go to my city library and look around it will be mostly, or all, adults. [Weirdology]
go to library is a really pleasant thing. indulge in the book of heaven and earth ,there willl be people wiht the human spirit becomes, literature, literature and rationality have become stronger and learn not only knowledge, more that our independence of thinking and the abilitly to test.because of the geographical,i live in the rural areas, ther is little opportunity to go to the books until college that i go to the library to read i suddenly loved the reading ,my thinking has undergone major changes ,my view has become more open , the book is really a kind of charm, will be deeply attracted you,and we should cherish the opportunity to study in the library,so that our life will be colorful.do you think so? [zhangmingyuan]
I don't visit the library very often anymore as I have the internet now and can do all my research online. I do miss the library though...maybe I should go someday and just hang out there and look at all the books! [angemac23]
I visit the library like 4 times in a year. Every year we have to read 4 books for English. I don't like reading so I don't go to the library that much. For information I just use the internet. It's a lot easier :D [maartentje365]

I basically visit my local library whenever I feel like I want to check out a new book or try and find something new to read. I haven't been there in a while though because I've bought a lot of books and I'm trying to get through some of my own books so that way I don't have more books sitting around waiting to be read. [jambi462]
For i'm still in college and this semester we have a lot of work to do,so i almost visit the library everyday.Because of there are a lot of desks many of us just go there to share the quiet atmosphere and try to let us calm down.Library is really a nice place for all of us to go to ,for it can provide us a good way to gain knowledge. With the entering of internet, many people were alreay perfering to search on the internet than to look up in library.Let's enjoying our lives in library in the world of books. [vincyk]
I love the library. I go there on a regular basis and borrow books and just browse. Sometimes I rent a movie or some music from there. If I have a form to print off, I find that printing at the library is much less costly than printing off from my own computer so it is worth taking the time to go there. My girls love the library too so they also visit it frequently. There is a lot more there than just books. As you mentioned, there are newspapers & magazines. Its also a relaxing place to go. Back when I was married, if my husband & I had a disagreement, I would often walk to the library and just browse around for a while. It was a good way to calm down and diffuse a potentially greater argument. [sid556]
i last visited library 2-3 years back.and i don't think i will visit again to library because i hate books and college [chimrani]
we go on a weekly basis. Our library has many functions for all ages that we love going to. They are both free and educational. We just went to one when an archaeologist came to discuss his last trip in Egypt and what they found. It was for families so the kids learned quite a bit and we where all very interested. [OpinionatedLady]
I enjoy reading books. When i was in college i used to visit library everyday, sometimes for borrowing academic books and most of the times it was to borrow novels. And whenever i was free in campus i would put myself in corner of library and grab some good monthly magazines and read those for hours.Visiting college library was really a fun as i would get all i want with so much of ease with out any extra expense,as i was not getting enough pocket money to spend on novels and magazines. But unfortunately i finished my college and now find it so hard to find some good novels at reasonable prices.I searched for some public libraries near home and got myself registered as a member over there but my bad luck those public libraries do get everyday newspapers, business magazines but they do not have novels of my interest. [shilley]
hi clorissa123 yes I visit the library quite often, as I used to work as a page in the Tustin library and loved to read, still do and when I get a chance I still go to the tustin Library too. I enjoy reading books, magazines, anything printed. I just love to read. I cannot fathom someone not liking to read. Its just part of my live. [Hatley]
now it is like once a month.. but i used to visit my local library 3 times a week when i was a teen.. but now i am so much addicted to internet and i do not read that much.. but i try to read something as i know it is essential.. but most of the books now i borrow are computer related books which helps to complete my degree program.. there is no much interest in novels now like those days.. happy mylotting [udnisak]
yes i often visit the local library in my area and i am an ardent book reader. Books are my life and i atleast read 3 to 4 books a week. I have read almost around 800 books in various languages such as English, Japanese, Hindi and Tamil( the last two are the national and regional language in India). Bokks are man's best friend and this quote is well applicable to me. Thanks for starting the discussion and have a great day. Happy Mylotting [vinslounge]
Hi clorissa, My towns library is pretty close to me like 5 minute walking and yea i like to visit it time to time. I m not big fan of reading bigger books, but here we can rent movies also for free from library. So about every week before weekend i go bring some movie to watch on weekend :) Im not big reader because im in finland as forigner and i dont know language that well to read them books. Small town what to do:) So movies movies movies for me from library [tuhkatriinu]
I'm in the same situation, a forienger who can't read the lanuage of the country she's living in. But our local library is great for my kids who are bilingual. My oldest son goes at least 3 times a week, sometimes more and I take my youngest once a week. I gat out cook books, if they have enough pictures I can usaully work out the Japanese enough to follow the recipes. Also there is an English language newspaper that I look through. But I miss a library with loads of books that i can read, guess I should learn Japanese!!!!! [dreamjapan]
Hello clorissa123, I study my lessons in the library everyday because of its ambiance. It helps a lot because I love reading especially when I'm with someone special. God bless. [renann]
hello clorissa123, we don't visit our local library here in our country. for we can't find any interesting book there.thumbdown but when we're abroad, my family and i visit the library there weekly for more than two years. we enjoyed going there a lot for we can borrow a lot of stuff from books to cds. they even have a movies. name it, they have everything. everybody in the family has his own books to read for a week. hope our library will offer the same thing. that way, people of all ages will surely visit the library more often.wink [robert19ph]
Unfortunately, there is no local library near my place. The local library is two hours away from where I live and I don't have much time to go there. Back during my university days, I used to visit the library almost everyday not only to do a research but also to enjoy reading my favorite novels. Now a days, when I visit a bookstore I take advantage of my time to browse books in the reading corner.I just love reading. [ilovechocolate]
I like reading, i think it could be one of my hobbies. People don't like books maybe beacuse it's too hard for them to read or just beacuse they don't like reading or it takes to much effort to take a book for them. Personally, as i said before, i like reading and some books, but i don't think i spend a good time reading. Luckily, i can go to a fre library in my school, so i don't pay for reading :), and if i enjoy the library...mmm.... i think it's a good place to study, or excelent. Every time i need to get info or study for some test i go to the library, it's quiet and has the perfect ambient (i don't know others, but mine is fine). But a great enemy for the library is the computer and internet itself. Why?...it's a pretty obvious question :D, in internet you can find almost everything and at a high speed (higher than searching for books, i don't know what others think about their speed connection XD) [aikanaro22]
I use to go to the library ever couple of weeks but have not been in quite awhile. My friends have been real generous w/me lately & have given me alot of books. I always have a book started but since i found mylot i don't read as much as i use to. I love going to the library but just haven't needed to in awhile. HAPPY READING. [ANTIQUELADY]
Hi clorissa, I would love to be able to visit a local library but unfortunately we don't have one. Neither do we have the option of using one somewhere else as they don't have one either. You are very fortunate to have one. [thea09]
OMG!! I can't tell how much I LOVE going to the Library. I love to sit in there and just read till my eyes fall out of my head. I'll just sit and read the magazines, newspapers. Usually I'll go to their website and browse the books, and when I see one I like, I'll have it transfered to the Library closest to me. In fact, I was just telling my boyfriend that I wanted to go today and spend some time there. It's Sunday, but the library next to me is open till 1 to 5. Yaaaaaaayyyyyy!! Happy reading... [Djbrat]
I go to the community library every 2 weeks to renew my books. There is also wifi and so we can bring our note=books to work there. Apart from that you can watch movies through the video library. It is rather quiet except just before public exams when students come in droves to study in the cool comfort of the library. Then there will be a lot of talking and giggling. [jonjee0203]
When I was taking some classes and had to do a report I would go to the library. One of the requires the instructor would put on the instruction was that we had to use at least two book sources for the report. Now that I am not taking any classes I only go if my internet is not work for the reason. [happy6162]
I love to read and peruse a library but our local library is about 25 miles away. I live in a small mountain village and due to gas prices, I don't get down the mountain very much and when I do it is for running errands/shopping. I seldom have the time to do anything that I would personally enjoy. Now that the winter weather is here (we have about 6 inches of snow already), I'll be down even less--I am terrified of driving in the snow. Given the time I could spend hours in the library. When I lived in NJ, there was a library about a block away and I'd get lost in there. Pure heaven! [tcup345]
I visit mine at least once or twice a month. Just to get caught up in the latest reading material. I do it to save money, and time. [geminikid]
I take my 5 year old son to the library once a week. We started going because my neighbor casually mentioned something called "Family Storytime" that my library has. We went one week to check it out, and both my son and I got library cards. We don't always go to storytime anymore, but we still go to the library once a week. My son looks forward to it. [Dkprincess6]
I only go to the library for the friends of the library book sales so I can buy books for like $1. You have to get there early and really search but I alwayd leave with a bag of books. All public libraries pretty much have a freinds of the library sales so you should check the calendar of your local library to find out when they are having one in your area. [slaveofsensation]
I also liked visiting the library way back in college because I love the quiet and it's really a good place to think. But over time, I find myself visiting less frequently. I now read more often from resources online. I think accessibility to information has been a main issue for me. The internet can easily pull whatever data you are researching on at an instant however, not all things online are reliable. Sometimes, there is still a need to confirm information in a library which always offers reliable information to the readers. I think libraries should not become obsolete. They must also enhance and upgrade their services especially in terms of brokering information to its patrons. I just really wish our own public library will improve, until then, I know its just going to be a storehouse of books. [icacho]
I used to like visiting school library or local library when I was studying. It's a place where I can find lots of resources when the Internet was not commonly used in those days when I was still a student. I also like to study in the library, as there was no other distraction, and I could concentrate on the books only. But, ever since I left the school, I seldom go to library anymore. It's because I do not really like the local library in my city, also I prefer to find resources in the Internet nowadays. [kaka135]
I enjoyed visiting my local library I would be able to get all the latest releases for free. I would go about once every 2 weeks and I could take out 6 books and I would read these within the 2 weeks. As time went on I seemed to have less time to read and did not go as often. I have moved to Bulgaria now and I am trying to find out if there is a library facility here, although I don't know if they would have many books in english, and my bulgarian is not good enough yet to read bulgarian books!
