If you could make and publish your own magazine, what would it be about? I know a lot of people are into anime and comics, would you be interested in doing one of your own? Several others would be really good at putting together an animal magazine, or one about tips for taking care of your pet. So many mylotters have different talents, and I imagine a whole lot could make an incredibly publication if they had the chance. What would you make your magazine, and what would the name be?

Seeing that i'm a chef i would make a magazine about food and cooking ,and i would name it ( for the love of food ) [mrpippo]
Truthfully if you had a magazine named for the love of food I would probably subscribe! [jillhill]
Mine would be an arts and crafts magazine with different sections that included all the crafts I like to do. It would be called Sweet and Simple....cute little crafts that are easy to make! [jillhill]
Hehe--would you believe that when I was in Junior High school I did actually do a little magazine? Circulation...2 people...it was mainly between my friend and I and I suppose it was our own version of like a Glamour magazine, where we drew out the latest fashions, had fashion and makeup tips...LOL Mmmm...as for now? I guess an animal type magazine would fit the bill for me, no? Have one section of the taking care of pets (all kinds), an animal activist alert page or feature and gee I wonder and guess who the main photographer would be, now gee, who would that be? hehee [pyewacket]
If you had the financial backing, I know you would have a huge legion of readers! [AmbiePam]
We actually DO publish a few small regional publications/mags...one on health, a couple for different sports and we hope to do a wedding one, too. We also do a small Christian newspaper. I sometimes think I would like to do one on rubber stamping/scrapbooking, but that is so much work- to come up with new and fresh ideas each time! I guess not much more than what we do now...just hire out some of it, but wow- it makes my head spin to even think about doing it. Maybe I will just do an article for the newspaper about it...lol. I bet you will get such a wide variety of fun answers- you are right there are so many here with so many interests...it is so wonderful!!! [above31rubies]
That is really cool how you provide such a wide array of your knowledge to people in your community. [AmbiePam]
I would probably call it "Heather's Hobbies" and it would be full of all kinds of things that people can do. It would be filled with trivia, and tips, and opportunities to make friends. [GardenGerty]
I would call mine Reflections. It would be a magazine featuring my poetry and images of nature in reference to the creator. It would be something for people to leaf through and enjoy the pictures as well as the poems.happy [OreoCookie3]
Oh that is easy, "Prophetic Dance" is what I would call my magazine and it would have clothes you can buy along with accessories and books, DVD's and CD's you can buy to help you experience a closer relationship to G♥d. Plus it would have awesome articles from those who have a prophetic vision in what G♥d is saying today.. [carmelanirel]
I know, that is why I make this, no one else would have it and I would love reading it..wub [carmelanirel]
I would try to publish a variety of things in it so that i would cover alot of likes. I would hace fashion tips, beauty tips, makeup tips, weightloss tips that were actually tested to see if it works first, recipes, information about earning online, dating tips, marital tips of do's and don't, exerises that are great for certain body types, household tips, the mystery of men and their different signals they have,Crafts for the crafter and for the kids,A little of this a little of that..like a good vegetable soup. It would have a little of everything in there. Name? Wow that is the hardest part of it all is the name. Maybe call it the Soup magazine silly I know. [mtdewgurl74]
Well, I would only be able to put a little of each in at a time otherwise it would be costly to publish and buy but I would want it to be fun, have recipes that people would be able to make everyday not just those fancy ones that you never would make that they have in alot of them now. I would want it to be a magazine that everyone liked because it would have something for everyone. I have alot of magazines and my mom is always buying this and that magazine and some have such useless information in them or stupid things that I doubt alot of readers would even consider doing and the decorating tips are outlandish and I doubt alot of people would even want to do their house in them. So I would have to do a survey on what others would like to see in a magazine and what they expect and go from their. [mtdewgurl74]
I do have my own e-zine already. It is called storytime tapestry and it has stories, poems, prayers, announcement, writing info, etc, from many of the Internet's greatest writers. To make it into print form is really expensive and to make like the big magazines you have to have lots of money and advertising from the big guys, and they don't really bother with some publications. [winterose]
I am self-proclaimed computer geek. So I want to publish magazine about computers. ButI have another idea, I will publish magazine on mylot. It will include juicy discussion from mylot. With that lots will be able get their views published. [figjam00]
I would make a magazine for poets, all sorts of poet, paid and unpaid and would make it a must that any poem published would be paid a certain amount. I wou ld also show a few of my own poems. I would call my poetry magazine From Verse to Verse. The cover each month wouldfeature the best poem and poetof the month with the picture of the poet and a verse of his or her poem.my magazine would be legalwith no gimmicks of any kind. [Hatley]
My poetry magazine was called Voice & Verse! I published it for 5 years. [paid2write]
mine.. would be all bout arts... and the name would probably be... My arts in my life... [ahna09]
I think if I were ever to make and publish my own magazine, I'd want to it be about Spirit Guides and Angels, and other "helpers" from the other side so to speak. There are many magazines being made and published these days about just about every topic under the sun, but I don't seem to see any that relate directly to the afterlife. Being a Spiritualist, I feel this could fill a niche that has not yet been filled. [angelwhispers30]
I think if I were to make and publish my own magazine, it would be about Spirit Guides, Angels and other "helpers" from the other side so to speak. There are many magazines out there today that cover just about every topic under the sun. However, I don't seem to run across many that pertain directly to higher realms. I do feel that a magazine like that could fill a niche that hasn't yet been filled. I think I'd call it "The World Beyond Ours" or something like that. [angelwhispers30]
I did this ten years ago. I produced and edited a poetry magazine. I published it six times a year for five years. It had a good circulation for a small press magazine. I made enough money from subscriptions to cover the cost of production and mailing. I used to give cash prizes too for the best poems in each issue. Now anyone can publish on the internet and I think there is less demand for print magazines. [paid2write]
For me it'd be a real dream, I'd publish my own magazine about tourism and travel (I deeply love them), I think I'd like to have guest writers, to plan interviews with famous and unfamous people, to give prizes such as brief giveaways and so on. Great question!!! [desiitaly]
yes i will do it and if i do it i will make those pple to come forward who dont do or say because they have some economic problems and i will expose them. [atifshahzad1]
hmm that's a very good question that deserves a lot of thinking. to make and publish a magazine means i must be really passionate about something. it's not easy to conceptualise, let alone publish a magazine. after going through all the usual, and unusual, choices of magazine, i think i'd go for one that is all about happiness. it'll be about how to be happy, what are the steps to find what makes one happy. i find that we are all too absorbed with making money that we forgot all about happiness. ultimately, isn't the aim of having money to make us happy? if we totally forgot about happiness, what good will all the money in the world do? [applefreak]
I'm pretty good at stretching a dollar as far as it will go, so if I were to create a magazine it would probably be about frugal living in some way. It wouldn't be anything modern or contemporary, just good, clean living on the cheap. I love older homes, country kitchens, french country, that sort of thing. I'm sure there's a way it could all be brought together. As for a name, I wouldn't have a clue! [Ldyjarhead]
Sounds like a magazine we could all use. [AmbiePam]
I would publish a magazine all about fun, with articles that would tell how to get the best out of life. I would include sections on food, outdoor and indoor activities, newest, and free stuff, and fun helping other people. The goal of my magazine would be that anyone who reads it would find in every issue something that would expand their capacity for laughter, love, and enjoyment. I don't know what I would name it, but it would have a happy title. [KarenO52]
Hello AmbiePam When I was in college one of our classes started a magazine on environmental issues and other feature story type things for the area around us. We published this magazine several times and the university sold it to someone else and it's still published. Although this isn't exactly what you asked about, I have always wanted to start an alternative newspaper that is run by young people. All of the stories, the gathering of advertisers, etc., would be done by teenagers. I would be interested in their perspective on the news and things in life / in the world. [Transdisc]
That's a nice thought. I would make magazine of writing reviews on movies since i am very fond of writing reviews of movies and i guess i am very good at it (not bragging). I would invite readers to write their own reviews on the movies and give away free goodies to the best writers. ~pinks~ [itsmepinky]
I like your idea. Is there any movie right now you would recommend I try out? [AmbiePam]
I have thought many times about creating my own magazine. I would love to be able to create one, but I am not sure what it would be about. I have so many different interests it would be hard to narrow it down and focus on just one topic. [Sonadora]
I think I would have to make a magazine by the name of This, That, and Everything else. It would have random info, helpful tips for everyone, and maybe some recipies for those who have little time and little money. I'd probably not sell anything though. lol [k1tten]
I'd probably do a magazine with short horror fiction and artwork. I am actually in the process of setting up a blog for just that purpose. Magazines have almost become outdated now thanks to the internet and blogging. It is so easy to set up a blog now and almost do it magazine style. Very good question [inked4life]
Now this discussion is like a spring breeze Ambie. =3 Heck yes I'd be interested in doing something like this. If it was from my own interests, I'd probably need two different magazines after awhile (Pro-Original and Pro-"Gamer" =P, just the 'beta'/working names). One would have the various interests I have: art, cooking, life, people, music, nature, light technology; and reactions to things happening in the world. Of course there would be jokes and humor... maybe I'd put more humor/light type manga in the back too. The second would have the more esoteric interests: gaming, computer, technology, anime, manga. In this one I'd probably dedicate a good amount of section to a manga series, or two or three. Unless someone else could think of other names I'll go with some of the following. Original/Open Magazine - Profection Gamer/"Geek" Magazine - Protaku [theprogamer]
Bravo to your ideas! [AmbiePam]
I think if I could combine 2 things it would be photography and food, or maybe even do 2 magazines, taking reviews about the Cameras what the ups and downs are for them...tips and tricks to work around issues that people have had with cameras. food cooking, ideas trying to make things with what you have in the fridge and freezer, and Maybe even combining the 2 in one magazine. [oneandonemakesix]
Mine would be about being thrifty/frugal. There'd be a section for recycled crafts, because I love that you can make craft from items that others would throw away. Of course there'd be a coupon and refund/rebate section. Gosh, I could go on forever. What an interesting idea you have here. [dmillman]
I guess it would be an astrology one.. gardening ones would be nice! [flowerchilde]
I would create a magazine for budding writers so that they could have their work published. I'd call it Writing Senseless. Probably an animal one too. More about the animals adopted from shelters and how owners found their perfect match etc. Call that one Petflections. Oh, then a needlepoint magazine where people can showcase their finished works, ask for tips, share advice and review products etc. United Needles might be a good title. [newzealtralian]
