i tend to read everything! i do about a book every two days, which can be quit exhausting, but i'm an addict. i tend to read the following authors and wanted some suggestions about similar authors:

You can try "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. It is a drama and suspense at the same time about money. The first time I read it, I continue on until midnight and that awaken my curiosity about money. [danzer]

Do I have recommendations...oh boy! lol. I think I just might ;P Ritide by Catherine Coultir. I love the suspense, as well as the little comedy relief in this book! It had me laughing out loud a couple of times, but it is also VERY suspenseful. It had a few mysteries, and I am proud to say I figured a few of them out fairly early =P And you just have to love the characters in this one! Contest by Michael Reilly. This is AMAZING! I read it in 2 days, I just couldn't put it down! It has a big plot tiwst that isn't listed in the description. At first when I started reading and realized what it was REALLY about, I was skeptical. But i read on and was not disappointed!! Both Riptide and Contest are in my 'read again' pile! =) Along with My Brother Sam is Dead, but that isn't like the kind you are interested in! =P hehe [LilyoftheThorns]

I like suspense and drama too and am familiar with some of the authors you mentioned. There is a series of books by Jean Auel. The first is called the Clan of the Cavebear, even though they aren't suspense or drama they are a really good series and I highly recommend them. [kbourgerie]
If you like vampires, and wereanimals, and sex, and violence, and witty sarcastic humor than Laurell K Hamilton has books about a vampire hunter called Anita Blake. The first one is called Guilty Pleasures. I borrowed this book from a friend and have since read every single one in this series. She also reads JD Robb books so you might like these cause she does. We like quite a few of the same authors. Some of the authors that I have found recently that I really have enjoyed are: Harlan Coben, Dean Koontz(which is an old favorite), Tess Gerritsen, & Lisa Jackson. I really like Michael Crichton. He does medical mysteries, kind of CSI stuff, but better than the show (he wrote Jurassic Park, just for reference). People who know that I like Crichton tend to recommend Grisham for me, so I figure it goes both ways. [SomethingGood332]

Well, I was in wal-mart today and saw that James Patterson has his newest novel from the womens murder club out.. it's called 7th heaven. I picked it up today. If you like a little bit of humor mixed in with your suspense, Try reading Janet Evanovich. She has the Stephanie Plum series which currently has 13 books plue two mini (mid-season) shorter books. Then there is the Alex Barnaby series that started two years ago... Both are very suspense filled and alot of fun to read. Have you tried Tess Gerritson, Catherine Coulter, Jonathan Kellerman, Faye Kellerman, or Iris Johansen. All are actuon suspense. Those are some of my regular reads.... I am a book aholic too. I average about 50 books a year. OH, I forgot one, Sue Grafton. Any of those are the mystery/suspense, and filled with action. Hope that helps!!! [lightningd]

Here is a author who has written a couple of very suspenseful books: Harlan Coben. The 2 I really like are "Tell No One" and "Gone for Good". Not all of his books are like these 2, I've also read a couple others by him that are decent mysteries. But these 2 are really good. wow i'm into suspense too but with a tinge of romance for me. i know of some of the authors that you mentioned too. i read some historical, classical, navy and detective types too so not sure if you're into those but i'll give you some list of my favourite common authors that i can remember right now. it's night time hehe. patricia potter, andrea kane, linda howard, catherine coulter, sandra brown, julie garwood, marlisse melton( i think this is the correct spelling) amanda quick, sidney shieldon, jayne ann krentz, iris johansen, linda lael miller, arrgh i can't remember others. hehehe some others have mentioned like johanna lindsay. well grins i think this is quite a lot of authors for you to choose from. just write down their names and you can look at their books in the library. grins. good luck and enjoy them. Have you ever tried Greg Iles? I tried One of his books last spring and love him now. It was called Blood memory. It was a suspense book with twists and turn and talked about Bi Polar disease, which was kinda a different twist than most books i have read. Have you tried Iris Johansen and Catherine Coulter? Both are authors of FBI thrillers. Cahterine Coulterr has written such books as Blindside, Point Blank, The Edge and a new one which I will have to get, which is Double Take, plus a whole lot more. Iris has written The Search, Body of Lies, The Deception, Killer Dreams, Firestorm, and a lot more. These are all great books. I think you will enjoy them. [sca1066]
Well, first I'll start with the obvious from recent best sellers :) Have you read Dan Brown - author of the DaVinci Code. I enjoyed his "Angels and Demons" more. Also how about Greg Iles. His books have endorsements from both John Grisham and Steven King. Look for: Mortal Fear, Spandau Phoenix, The Quiet Game, Black Cross. [Kerenhap]
Have you checked into Sidney Sheldon and Harold Robbins? The latter always wrote about actual things, just changing the names of the actual people. His The Carpetbaggers was about Howard Hughes and The Dream Merchants about Goldwyn Meyer. There are some others, The Pirate being one which I found very enjoyable. If you are at all into science fiction, (or are at least willing to try it) I would recommend Robert Heinlein's Time enough for Love, and The Moon is a harsh mistress... [IddiKlu]
YOu need to add Janet Evanovich, Sue Grafton and Richard North Patterson to your list of authors. Janet Evanovich has the Stephanie Plum series. She is a female bounty hunter. She writes with humor and some sexiness thrown in. You will laugh out loud, but is also adds that touch of mystery that you seem to like. Sue Graftons series starts with A is for Alibi, and it continues through the Alpahbet. I don't think she's as great as Janet Evanovich or JD Robb (aka Nora Roberts) but she has grown on me. I'm working on reading G is for Gumshoe now, but I did come across a few Nora Roberts books and I've set Sue Grafton aside 'til I'm done with the Nora Roberts books I have again. Richard North Paterson - He also rights detective type books. They are really good. I think I have a few discussions posted on a couple of his books. Good luck discovery new authors! [miamilady]

Try the newer stuff by James Patterson. Cross and Double Cross. The Honeymoon. The Beach House. If you like books about SW Florida's gulf coast, the Randy Wayne White Doc Ford books are awesome. John Grisham has a new novel out. The Appeal. His books are too verbose and they keep your interest. Stephen King has Duma Key out, but I haven't been able to get through one of his books since I read Bag of Bones. Lisey's Story was tedious and too long and everything since his accident seems to focus on the accident. Lisey's Story and Duma Key is no different. Hope that helps some. [ORyansBelt2012]

You could check out Jim Butcher's Dresden books. They're what the recent (and sadly cancelled) television series The Dresden Files were based off of. Good read if you like supernatural stuff with a good dose of of detective work... and ghosts named Bob. [Arkadus]
I love Nora Roberts too. She writes very good romance and suspense books. Right now I am reading a book by Nancy Taylor Rosenberg called Buried Evidence. It is a fantastic book. I have also recently read Fatal Voyage by Kathy Reichs. She has written a lot of good suspense stories. Another really good book is Heart Full of Lies by Ann Rule. I have never read anything by Ann Rule before but she has a lot of suspense books out, according to the list of her books on the inside cover. [chrislotz]
About two years ago, I stumbled across my first Daniel Silva book. I was hooked immediately. They are suspense books. Another author I like a lot is Tess Gerritson. There is also Linda Fairstein and Julie Garwood (who does mostly romance for years came out with several that are suspenseful novels like Slow Burn)and Tami Hoag. These books are well written and suspenseful. Of course, they are not to everyone's taste but worth checking out. [sageivyberyl]

Faye Kellerman is a wonderful author and she has written a 16 book series that has the following - Peter Decker. He is a policeman who meets a woman and the series and their relationship grows. I am only on book 5. Here is the first book in the series: Ritual Bath. Mrs. Kellerman wrote the first one in 1986 and she just released the 16th one in 2007. This was recommended by a friend and they are great. Also, Beverly Lewis writes a lot of great books about the Amish. [kimbers867]
