read? Any specific titles on your list? Do you have a "To Be Read" pile or list?
So far I have read "Life, The Universe, and Everything" by Douglas Adams this year.
I'm also working on Odd Thomas (for the third time) and Brother Odd by Dean Koontz, Fluke by Christopher Moore, and Lolita.
I plan to read all the Harry Potter books again in preparation for the new book. I also want to read Eldest (the follow up to Eragon).
My goal this year is 50 books. I'd like to read more of the good stuff this year - The Handmaid's Tale, Hemingway, etc.

Well I don't really have a goal really. I do plan on trying to find some more Dan Brown books and hoping to read the new Harry Potter book. I just read books as I find them. I figure though I'll read between 75 and 150 books this year varying from fluff to more serious books. I'm a very fast reader so for me to read a book in a day is not unusual. [emeraldisle]
I wish I could read that fast!!! All the books that I could accomplish reading! I don't read very fast but I always have my nose in a book anywhere I go. So, if I am waiting, I can bust out my book and read. Plus, having seven kids kinda stops me from reading as much as I want. Then....once I joined myLot, I found I am up to the wee hours on myLot and still have to read before going to sleep. I think I am going to have to cut by myLot time because I can not stand not reading as much. [brokentia]
actually this last few years i stopped reading ..due to a busy sched i have..but i have fond reading short stories authored by harold robins daniel steel..i like romantics novels as well... [vanities]
I don't set a goal each year, I just enjoy reading. But I can say, I would like to read the entire Dark series by Christine Feehan. I just started it not long ago. And since I like to start from the beginning of the series, I have to try to find each book at the local used book store. So far I am a chapter away from being done with the 6th book of the series. I think there are 13 or 14 in the series. I don't remember. But the series is really great. I am not one to read books on vampires, but it was strongly suggested by my sister and after a couple years of her poking at me...I finally gave in and read the first book. Now, I am addicted to it and have to read the entire series. But I also want to read Angels and Demons by Brown. Among other things that have written down. Or should I say have in a spread sheet on my computer downstairs? LOL Yes, I actually have a spread sheet of books that I want to read, books that I have read (so I do not re-read or think I have not read them because titles can be so close to one another and I am horrible with names) and books that my daughter wants and read. This way is the best organization for me. And when I include books my daughter has read ot wants, it gives me something to look for her when I am at th book store too. :) [brokentia]
I keep a list of books I want to read - and a list of books I have read as well. [Withoutwings]
I would like to read again the DaVinci Code. I love the book so much. But I lend it to someone, so perhaps next week I would read it again. [ernst111]
I don't have any specific titles in mind but I would like to be able to complete a few good books during this year. Last year was SOOO busy with a new baby and all that I did not have enough time to read much of anything. Things have settled down and are more predictable now so hopefully that will allow me to read more. I love to read. [goldjay]
I actually have a few books on my "to read" list for this yr A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess Lisey's story - Stephen King Awakening to the Sacred - Lama Surya Das reread Awaken the Buddhist Heart - same reread Awaken the Buddhist Within - same Junky - William S. Burroughs Prozac nation - Elizabeth Wurtzel A Scanner Darkly - Philip K. D!ck Nausea - Jean-Paul Sartre the rest of the Black Dagger Brotherhood - J.R Ward the rest of the Dark Hunter series - Sherilyn Kenyon Shake Hands with the Devil: The Failure of Humanity in Rwanda - Romeo Dallaire thats all I can think of right now though I have more on my list LOL [Ravenladyj]
sartre I've never read before but am curious because of so many mixed reviews regarding his work...some ppl love it..some ppl hate it I saw Scanner Darkly and loved it...but its one of those movies you really have to pay attention to and read between the lines so to speak...I have heard that the book is amazing so I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it... I love to read, always have really and luckily my kids really enjoy reading as well so this house is full of books LOL plus being a SAHM I have the time to enjoy a good book these days..provided I have my days in order LOL [Ravenladyj]
Hello my friend. As I am in a Russian speaking country now, I have set my sights on the Russian authors. Dostoevsky is right up there, as is Tolstoy. I always promised myself I would read War and Peace one day, and I started today. I also want to explore the Roman Empire, and get to know more about The Greeks. It's a little heavy going, but I do enjoy it. I have all but given up on modern fiction these days. I try from time to time, but invariably come away disappointed. My last attempt was the Da Vinci Code, which I thought was dreadful. But then, I am a stuffed shirt. Thanks for the post, and enjoy your reading. [stevew1805h]
Have you read the Oedipus the King aka Oedipus Rex? It's really twisted. I love it. [Withoutwings]
Mine 10 (can achieve or not, huhu :P) [dinzmalayneum]
I am interested in reading anything written by Nicholas Sparks. I would also like to read something about the 9/11. Also, a good old-fashioned romantic novel would be nice since I haven't read one in years! [vianneivanne]
I participate in a forum where they do a "50 book challenge" every year. I can't read nearly that many, but one of my goals this year is to read more books. Right now I'm working my way through the three books of the Baroque Cycle by Neal Stephenson. It's tough going, but really well written. [onesiobhan]
I wouldn't be able to read 50 books in a year either. I'm reading "Why I'm Like This" currently. It's only 200 pages. And I read for a few hours a day. I am still not done with it and I started on it in December! I don't read everyday, but still. But when I read audiobooks, I can read one book in a day or just a couple days. Problem is, those are so much more expensive. [Pigglies]
I have so many that i want to get through. Currently i'm reading Emma by Austin and i would like to read some more "classics". The Dubliners is up there along with Lolita and many others. I'm not a very fast reader so i think about 20 books would be an achievement for this year. Excluding the books i am reading for school like A Farewell to Arms, Birdsong, The Colour Purple, Measure for Measure and Paradise Lost. [linzmcwilliams]
I will try to read around 5 to 10 computer books, other than it I dont am a great reader nor I had a hobby to read books, I used to read spy and other novels but that part of my life is not any more right now [usman400]
I do not have a "To be Read" pile list, but I intend to keep reading at least two new books each month. This year I am interested in older writing, something from decades when I wasn't born, W.B.Yeats; Washington Irving, Melville. Something more "classic". [jricbt]
Good goal. I have intended to study my kabbalah book and completet it. Also, the Tanach as much as possible. [noachide]
i have about 7 books waiting for me to read! they are thrillers/relgious thriller type ones....in 2 and a half weeks after my exams are over i shall finally get around to them! [emisle]
i dont have a specific number of books in mind but my goal is to read as much banned books as i can. i've read a discussion here about banned books and that piqued my interest. [azriel]
My goal this year is to read at least 20 new books that I have never read before and that are not assigned to me by my professors. I have a tendency to start reading one author and try to read as many books by that one author. I think I am going to read a couple books by James Joyce, Thomas Mann and Oscar Wilde. I am not really sure about any titles yet, but I am always open to recommendations. [everiedmndae]
as much as i can... i loved to read book... but now, since i don't have extra money to buy it, i prefer to read e-book [elphist]
I don't have any reading goals. It would take away from the pleasure of reading for me to set some goals that I might not be able to complete. I'd be thinking more of the goals than of the sheer pleasure of the books. [Angelwriter]

I don't really have a goal, but I tend to read at least one book sometimes two per week. I mostly read non-fiction. [suedarr]
I have no reading goals and because i have read only one or two books in 2006 i dont think i will read very many in 2007. [kyle930]
I don't have any reading goals.... I just read whatever I find. When I know I'm almost finished with a book, I'll stop at Walmart or the local bookstore and pick up a new one... I have friends that lend me books as well, so usually have a back up ready in case I finish one before I get to the store for a new one. I honestly have no idea how many books I read a year. Hmmm, that might be interesting to figure out! Since it's the beginning of the year, maybe I'll start keeping track! [Bev1986]
sadly because of my work schedule i don't get toread as much as i used to anymore. before i wouldn't buy another book unless i finish the one im currently reading but my ex just bought and bought books for me so now I have about 3 (all Stephen King's) that I haven't read and are just sitting on my shelf. I'm reading one right now but I'm going through a very slow pace. Before I could finish a paperback in about 3-4 days, that's how much time I had back then. So now I just plan to be able toread all those books sitting in my shelf before I buy new ones. And also, I just saw this list of banned books from the American Library Association (some of them sre Stephen King's too) so now I'm very curious about those and I hope toread some of them too. Especially the works of Judy Blume. So many of her books are banned and I just want to know why. [katcarneo]
well in the near future i would like to read mein kampf...im going to be starting that soon. and i would also like to read 'to kill a mocking bird' for now those are my goals! [karend]
I don't really have reading goals in regards to specific titles or quantity. I'm not even sure how many books I read last year, although I know it's quite a few. I've never had trouble reading several fiction books in a year, so I'm trying to incorporate more non-fiction in my reading lists. I started doing that toward the end of 2006, and I'm hoping to do the same this year. [DreamOn01]
That is a worthy goal! I could read a little more nonfiction myself. [Withoutwings]
I don't have a goal set, as I am always reading a good novel. I will make sure that I have every new book that James Pattersen puts out though. Along with some other favorites of mine. Mary Higgins Clark too. I like thrillers. [margieanneart]
Gosh, that's a bit of a tome to get through lol. My reading goal this year is to finish "Scar Tissue" by Anthony Kiedis of The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Excellent book from what I have read so far! [feralwoman]
I don't read a lot of stuff, but I actually do have a goal this year to read more. It is rather disappointing that I have so many books here that I'd love to read, and haven't. I'm currently working on "Why I'm Like This". I have so many other books to pick from after this. Some I think I'll just resell on Ebay without reading. But I have others that I'd really love to read. Some are above my reading level, but I hope to read them anyway. My goal is just to improve my reading as much as I can. I want to read more audiobooks as well and might rent some again soon. I've read The Handmaid's Tale on audio, I'd recommend it! [Pigglies]
the handmaids tale was a great movie [msqtech]
other than a little boos around christmas time i usually read around one good size book a week or maybe two or three short ones. I love reading, although mylot is starting to take more and more of my free time lol. Keep on posting good luck [ESKARENA1]
I love to read and it depends on the book but sometimes I can read it and finish it in just a day or two, when i have alot of times on my hands that is. I do wish i had more time to read, but when i do find a good book i usually canīt stop readig it =) I have no goal, but i will for sure try to read more this year! [Marie2473]
I want to read all the good books I have time for I love to read while traveling [msqtech]
