What Is Your Favorite Comic Strip

I realize different papers have different comic strips in different countries, although I know several have gone into syndication to many other countries. My favorite comic strip from the paper has always been Garfield. I liked reading the Peanuts and Cathy strip too. How about you guys? Which comic strip was/is your favorite? (comic strip, not book)

responses and comments:

Adventures of Kirby, was a fan made comic strip that had Kirby the cute pink puffball, in a story with different characters in it. [fatman01923]

I'd have a number I love, like Garfield, Dennis the Menace, Donald and Friends. But my favourite is Snoopy from the Peanuts characters. [lazeebee]

I seldom read comic strips. But I like Calvin and Hobbes. [busy_lizzie]

I would have to say that my favorite comic strip would have to be Charlie Brown. I used to love to watch the cartoon on television also when I was younger. I also loved the smurfs too. I used to like to read Andy Capp also in the paper. [stephcjh]

hi Ambie, for me its Garfield, too, and Hägar as well. dont know which one I like more....... [book1962]
I forgot about Hagar! [AmbiePam]

Garfield, same as you. My Grandad always used to save me all his comic strips out of his papers and send them to me once a month or so because he was my favourite! [gemini_rose]

I have always loved Get Fuzzy. Then I was turned of when I found in one of their comics the cat saying he was more popular than God. That was a turn off. I really do enjoy Pearls Before Swine, The Lockhorns, Blondie, Close To Home...and the other ones that are similar to Close To Home. [Yestheypayme2dothis]
Thank you, Amber! [Yestheypayme2dothis]

i do not have a favorite coic strip. i use to read them in the paper but not anymore. [catfish57]

i do not read comic strips anymore. but i used to.they just do not interest me like they used to. [catfish57]
i let my grandson read comics. he watches a lot of comics on tv. [catfish57]

Hagar the Horrible.....I love his simplist approach to life....and the way he interacts with Helga! That has been one of my favorite for a long time...I also like Family Circus! [jillhill]

I read more comic books than comic strips. But when I flip open the newspaper, I usually flip directly to the comics page first. My favorites were/are: Calvin and Hobbes, Archies, and Dilbert. I still collect Archie comics today and have the complete Calvin and Hobbes collection. [doubloonie]

hi AmbiePam my favorites are an even toss up beteen Garfield my all time favorite and Get Fuzzy, as I just love the dog so much, he sort of makes the whole comic. I have been a Garfield fan for ages even to having a door mat with Garfield on it, and a Garfield beanie baby. also love Get Fuzzy too. [Hatley]
You're the second person to mention Get Fuzzy, but I don't think I've ever seen that one. [AmbiePam]

I like Garfield too and foxtrot since that family has its share of problems..LOL [Rosekitty]

My favorite comics are beetle bailey and snuffy smith. I have read those since I was a small child and still love them just as much. [jer31558]
Snuffy Smith is a hillbilly cartoon that has been around for as long as I can remember. I guess I like it because I grew up with it. [jer31558]

Garfield, Snake, Footrot Flats, Snoopy and Dilbert. I also like 'The Far Side'. [Sparky5115]

My all time favourite was Tumbleweeds. But apparently it was cancelled years ago due to political incorrectness. Next favourite is Hagar the Horrible and Family Circle. [Winter08]
I vaguely remember Tumbleweeds. I hadn't thought about that one in years! [AmbiePam]

I also love Garfield! ahehehhe There's also this one comic strip [i forgot the title]. It's a satire of office people... the boss, employees and staff. It's fun to read when you're an officeworker. You could relate [esp. if you want to punch your boss]. [littlepinoy]

That's a hard one. I like Blondie and Beetle Bailey. I also have come to enjoy B.C. although I didn't get that one when I was younger. Calvin and Hobbes was funny but its not in our paper anymore. [lucy02]

Some of my favorites include: -Zits (it's really funny and it can relate to my life) -Foxtrot (love the drawings and most of the time really funny) -Calvin and Hobbes (classic) -Close to Home (all of them are hilarious) Usually I read comics during the entire week or whenever I have time. The weekday ones are good and I read them on Sunday because they're in color. [Hayley_N]

I would have to say two of your favorites are also mine: both Garfield and Peanuts. But not the Cathy comic strip; although I have read it on occasion, it's just okay. Garfield and Peanuts, however, I've enjoyed for a long, long time and continue to read Garfield in the newspaper! Unfortunately Charles Schulz's Peanuts comic strip is no longer running in our newspapers. [rckayla09]

Hi AmbiePam, I don't really read newspapers often but I think I remember the Peanuts strip and laughing at that one a few times. Ellie :D [ellie333]

Well same as yours and another one I can't recall the name at this time where his wife name is blondie? It is right at the ip of my brain. [mtdewgurl74]

My favorite comic strip has got to be Drabble. Though I do like Garfield, Peanuts, and a few others as well. However Drabble always put a smile on my face, no matter how goofy that day's strip was. I haven't gotten the paper in a few years and this is the one thing I miss. But what's the point in buying the paper just to read the comic strips? blush [sacmom]

I have always liked Cathy and For Better or Worse [kellys3ps]
Oh good, a fellow Cathy fan! [AmbiePam]

I like the newer cartoons like Foxtrot and The Boondocks. Both are interesting graphic design and are usually the funniest strips I read. I haven't really read comics in quite some time but I still remember the ones I used to use to pass time. [MrNiceGuy]

Oh, I love reading cartoons too. I love Garfield, until now, i have online subcriptions for his strips. I also like Archie and friends. Also for the Filipinos, I like Pugad Baboy. Pupong and others are alao my favorites. Take care =) [leateagee]

Well I took a millisecond to answer this!... CALVIN AND HOBBES! You only have to read it to see why 5 year old kids run away from school teachers and food is scattered all over the table. It certainly opened my eyes to the world of the little people, who can't see above the table :-) [umart13]

Henry is my favorite cartoon strip in the local newspaper. [amrishkj]

Its a tie Ambie. I can't decide between Calvin and Hobbes and the Far side. Both crack me up. I like Garfield too, but the others leave me laughing hours asfter I've read them. Nice to see you Ambie. I have enjoyed your discussions since you started here and will continue to read them with very much excitement. Thanks for the fun. Cheesehater [cheesehater]

My faves are Garfield and Peanuts. I've loved them since I was very young, infact, my mum had a friend who was Snoopy obsessed!!!!!!! No kidding either, her house was decorated all Snoopy style, even her telephone and door mat. [newzealtralian]

Whenever I read the comics I start at the top and work my way down the page. In the Sunday comics Peanuts was always first and then Garfield. Those two were my favorites, so I was glad that they were the first ones I got to when reading the comics. [lilybug]

hi ambiepam! happy my favorite comic strips would be a few of our local comic strips like Kiko Machine which features the difficulties and issues in a college life, Life in Progress which shows the wacky lives of some wacky friends, Pugad Baboy which is the name of a neighborhood and features a family of very fat people with a talking dog names Polgas, and Beerkada which is also about some crazy people. i also like Garfield, Calvin and Hobbes, Ben, Marvin, and many others. happy [secretbear]

My all-time favorite is Archie. I have loved Archie since I was a kid. I actually have a bit of a collection of Archie digests. I've had them since grade school. Archie is the comics I'd never get tired of. I'd always enjoy reading it. [MariaD]
