My favorite author is Danielle Steel.. So I do like romance books the best.. but not all! I like most of harlequin and silhouette books. I just read a book I got a Target a few months ago last week called Baby Love by Catherine Anderson, I really enjoyed it. I also like books that are about real life like a diary or something. I had a book "The Broke Diaries" i was reading before my sister borrowed it and I haven't seen it since! Guess I better get a copy. What are you reading at the moment? I am just finishing up Danielle Steel's Mixed Blessings. [devan23]

I like thrillers. Some of my favourite authors are James Patterson, Kathy Reichs, Michael Connolly and Val Mc Diarmuid. [slarkin71]

I normally read fantasy or science fiction. I am more into the former though. I have quite a few favorite authors but only a handful makes it into my "prestige list" where I buy their books to directly lend them support. [lordwarwizard]

I like all kinds of books. Mystery, romance, biography, humor, and crafts to name a few. I have quite a few books that I've read but don't want to part from so in boxes they go. I don't mind sharing them but I just can't part from them. LaVryle Spencer is my favorite auther of romance books. [RealDeal]
Yes well I have to say that I agree with these kind of books that you like I have mine still in some boxes but they are the ones I have not had time to read yet. [kathy77]

I don't mind reading at all but a book has to capture my interest right off the start or I put the book down to never pick it up again. The one author I absolutely love is Danielle Steel, I have read lots of her books and if I could have afforded to I'd have bought everything she ever wrote. I have never found an author I liked as much as her, but I'd sure be up for suggestions !!! [Grandmaof2]

I like to read self-help topics and spiritual books. [mimatexas]

I like to read Romance, Supernatural/paranormal, mystery, suspence, adventure, historical and timetravel type novel. I also like to read books on mythology and non fictional type stuff. I have a few favorite authors actually. I like Christine Feehan, Laurell K Hamilton, Emma Holly and Karen Marie Moning. There are a lot more that I like as well but I think at the moment they are on the top of my favorites list. For non fiction I'm not sure. I dont think I have a favorite one. I love reading thought it is one of my favorite past times other then my garden in the summer, crafts and movies lol. [cherbe]

Reading is something i do to relax alot. I usually like to learn something when i read so i usually go for self help books or my fitness magazines. I like books that are based on a true story as well. I do have a favorite for fiction and i believe i have read all of his books and saw every movie and that is steven king. For some reason his books draw me in and they are quite hard to put down too. lol [kitkat1]

Hmmm... It really has been sooo long since I've read a book, I kind of don't even know what I'd read now. Well growing up I loved mysteries and thrillers, I think now If I had the time to sit down and read a good book it would probably have to be self-help/advice, or a good christian book. I actually have some that my mother and friends have given me, one, called chicken soup for the christian soul, I would really like to sit down and read that, or I really like books that tell the life of a person, for example, how God has changed a person's life. Those books are really interesting to me because they relate to so many of us. [happymommy3]

At the moment Francine Rivers is my favourite author. The scartlet thread is very good. And the Atonement child. voice in the wind, echo in the wind. And there are many others. Sydney Sheldon is another of my favourite authors as is Catherine Cookson. Some of Jeffry Archers are ok. One litte book I read and loved is called 'Mr God, This is Anna' I could not put it down. I used to read a lot of medical stories, but not any more. I also read a lot of self help books and have enjoyed most of them. If you like mystery and murder James Patterson is a good author to go with. The get passed around my family right left and center. [Kylalynn]

You have opened a can of worms here Kathy because I just LOVE to read! My favourite author is Katherine Cookson who is English, and her stories are set in Lancashire, in the early 1900's; she is a brilliant writer. Colleen McCullough is another of my favourites (The Thorn Birds was excellent). I like to read romance, mystery, self-help books, and some auto-biographies. I've just finished The Celistine Prophecy given to me as a gift from my youngest son last Xmas, and it's an amazing book - makes you realize just what the mind is capable of. [abbey19]

I like novels that have substance to them. I don't like romance novels, but I do like a good mystery. Right now I'm reading 'My Sister's Keeper' by Jodi Picoult. In this story one sister is diagnosed with cancer and the parents have another baby so they can use her bone marrow to save the older sister. When this girl grows up, she sues her parents so that she can have the right to decide how to use her body. It's a great book for a book club discussion. [wachit14]

I like to read the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Series. I've read 3 of them and am reading the fourth one right now. Those are the only books I've found interesting and that I can read without wondering when is it over. I don't know what kind of books are best for women because every woman has a different taste. I think any book a woman likes to read is good for her. So far my favorite author is Ann Brashers. She wrote the series of the Sisterhood books. [pebbles_cubbie]

I tend to prefer Christian books. Sometimes I like something heavy that really gets me thinking, but more often I prefer to read what someone has to say about themselves and their experiences. At present I am reading a fascinating book by John Mellor called "Miracles from the dust" where he recounts literally hundreds of accounts of miraculous healings and deliverances as well as giving a very honest appraisal of his own life. [paul8675]

I have also read some "mixed' kind of stories by Sidney Sheldon and Jeffrey Archer even though these writers too have written most of their novels / bokks with Mystery/Suspense or Action themes. It is not as if I haven't read stories of other genre. I read a Story "Mother" by a Russian Author (translated to English) which I liked very much . As for authors , I like work by Alistair Mclean,Sidney Sheldon, Archer . I have also read "Sherlock Holmes" . [ptrikha1]

One of my favorites is Stephen Covey, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People." Well, you know what, my favorite book of all time is written by Jesus and a bunch of other disciples and prophets of God, and it is called the "B-I-B-L-E" or Holy Bible. [runningman72]

I'm a woman, and well, my reading varies little. I love reading horror books, I love Fantasy, I love Historical books, and sci-fi I'm picky with, but I like it. I can't stand detective, though. A good comedy is good once in a while. I don't really read self-help books. Mystery and thrillers are okay, depending on author. I like everything, including romance, drama, mystery, and comedy. I think my favorite books are those about someone overcoming abuse. My favorite book is "A Child Called It". That book is great, and I recommend everyone to read it. What that boy went through is agonizing, and you can tell just by reading his story. It breaks your heart. But when you see the person he has become, and hear of his triumph, it just makes you want to jump for joy. [AdTe23]
